Never liked nerd culture because I disliked not just that it was based in a deficiency, implicitly or not, but celebrated that outsider status. When I respected more well rounded people (and got on with jocks for some reason, I guess by coming across like a younger brother, always seemed friendly and patient with me and wanted to have a repoir. Brown guy from freshman year, Richard, Paul (two of them), black guy from anatomy and his friend, Jeff being prominent examples)
