- Given that my mind is being the way that it is in this day and age, I have decided to use my scientific prowess to try and create the Elixir of Life, a tonic highly sought after within the ancient world, and seen as an artificial form of immortality. My seven previous attempts have achieved varying degrees of success, but my mind is telling me that this will end up being a rather long, tiresome, and incredibly troubling series of experiments. In any case, these logs will detail which subject I have given my prototype Elixir to, the effects of said Elixir, and what my reaction is. I hope to find my final formula soon.
- -Dr. Arno Flamelle
- [EXPERIMENT 1: Chima Rorschatz - CODENAME: Chimaera]
- GIVEN: 1 Dose of Elixir (created using genomes of apex versions of various animals), ~4 oz. of fluid by volume. Ingested as a Liquid.
- EFFECT: Subject went into shock three (3) minutes after ingestion. After around five (5) minutes, subject's body started to mutate into an amalgam of a number of feral beasts, including traits of a lion, snake, deer, bull, and hedgehog being the most prominent. Subject regained composure after one (1) hour, and showed no signs of higher-level intelligence.
- REACTION: Well, not exactly what I intended. I need to make sure to create something that won't cause the subject to go brain dead... Perhaps if I try something with more base-level life form...
- RESULT:This test is a failure.
- [EXPERIMENT 2: Helga Fafniiri - CODENAME: Hellion]
- GIVEN: 1 Dose of Elixir (synthesized from bacteria found near underwater volcanic vents), ~4 oz. of fluid by volume. Ingested as a liquid.
- EFFECT: Subject immediately spontaneously combusted, causing significant damage to work space. Subject's body mass appears to have shifted, melted, and combusted at various points when the Elixir ran its course. After a total of one (1) hour's time, subject was left in testing chamber.
- REACTION: This does not bode well for how my research is going... Base-level life forms are not going to cut it in terms of the strength and effect they have on the body. The way I had treated the RNA in the Elixir was unstable enough to cause the subject to burst into flame. If I were to try something that deals with lower temperatures while infusing the mixture with the RNA, it may have a different effect...
- RESULT:This test is a failure.
- [EXPERIMENT 3: Arianna Pithos - CODENAME: Scylla]
- GIVEN: 1 Dose of Elixir (extracted from Immortal Jellyfish, and chilled to near Absolute Zero for infusion process), ~4 oz. of Fluid by volume. Ingested as a solid.
- EFFECT: Subject went into shock almost immediately before large ice crystals started to coat their form. After approximately eight (8) minutes, the ice crystals started to form into the shape of various forms of sea life, including traits found in Orca, Starfish, and Octopi. Approximately two (2) hours after mutations had ceased, subject regained consciousness, and was found to have a higher threshold for violence within its social norms.
- REACTION: This is going nowhere. Immortal Jellyfish have a life cycle in which they are able to completely replace damaged and dead cells, but when mixed with the Elixir, their effect is amplified. Intriguing, but not what I am looking for, sadly. Perhaps if I try something from an avian...
- RESULT: This test is a failure.
- [EXPERIMENT 4: Yolanda Harpeth - CODENAME: Harpuia]
- GIVEN: 1 Dose of Elixir (synthesized from leukocytes found within birds of prey), ~4 oz. of Fluid by volume. Ingested via inhalation of gaseous form.
- EFFECT: Subject complained about sudden onset pain in limbs after approximately one (1) minute of gas exposure. After another two (2) minutes, subject's limbs started to visibly contort into shapes resembling elongated, budding shapes of wings and talons. Approximately one (1) hour after the Elixir had been ingested, the subject's arms and legs resembled the wings and talons of a Northern Goshawk, and promptly started to molt.
- REACTION: Intriguing... I feel as if I am almost close to what I want. Perhaps I will have better luck with something more "on the ground".
- RESULT: This test is a technical failure, but has results that will spur on a better version of the Elixir.
- [EXPERIMENT 5: Minos Registopheles - CODENAME: Juggernaut]
- GIVEN: 1 Dose of Elixir (Extracted from results of previous experiment, and mixed with the RNA of the Alpha of a herd of wild bulls), ~4 oz. of Fluid by Volume. Ingested as a liquid via injection into intercostal space.
- EFFECT: Immediately after the injection, subject started to grow more aggressive than previous history tells of. After around thirty (30) minutes post-injection, subject's body started to mutate and grow to that resembling an enormous bull, hooves and all. Subject's strength has increased one hundred-fold, and has caused a noticeable amount of damage to Work Space. Subject detained in a reinforced cell for precaution.
- REACTION: Far too aggressive to be of use, unfortunately, but the Elixir is starting to become more stable. Perhaps if I up the dosage, then I will have what I seek.
- RESULT: This test is a failure.
- [EXPERIMENT 6: Anansa Herio - CODENAME: Ur]
- GIVEN: 10 Doses of Elixir (combined with the best traits of the previous versions of said elixir), ~40 oz. of fluid by Volume. Ingested via Intravenous (IV) duct.
- EFFECT: Subject's flesh lost most (if not all) hair, and skin turned pale white. Subject's form mutates over the course of three (3) days, becoming featureless, the sole exception being the mouth, which has elongated to the "corners" of the face. Subject's form loses all form of sexual characteristics, and becomes lithe and smooth to the touch. Approximately three (3) hours past this point, subject's back is seen to bulge out and split, exposing large growths of what appears to be in the shape of "jagged wings", with portions of the underside of said "wings" elongating downward into spikes. Subject has shown to exhibit increased mental capacity, with presently unknown means of levitation coming alongside said effects. Subject has shown to exhibit hostility to nearly any form of "help", interpreting such actions as malicious in nature.
- REACTION: This is going too far. Everything is there from what I can tell, but this is not what I envisioned to be the results. I feel I am so close to what I seek, but this is becoming more and more troublesome. I plan on locking away this subject in the most secure place in the compound as I can. With how this thing can float on its own without help, something like this is dangerous. I must try and figure out where I went wrong with the formula.
- RESULT: Technical Success
