A mouthy and feisty taxicab driver has hot tips for a green and inept cop set on solving a string of New York City bank robberies committed by a quartet of female Brazilian bank robbers.
Belle Williams is a speed demon. Flying through the streets of New York in her tricked-out taxi, she's earned a rep as New York's fastest cabbie. But driving a hack is only a pit stop for her real dream: Belle wants to be a race car champion. And she's well on her way--until she's derailed by overeager cop Andy Washburn, whose undercover skills are matched only by his total ineptitude behind the wheel. Washburn, whose lack of vehicular skills has landed him in the precinct doghouse, is hot on the heels of a gang of beautiful Brazilian bank robbers, led by Vanessa, their cold, calculating--and leggy--leader. To nab the evasive crooks, drivers license-less Washburn convinces Belle to team up with him to pursue Vanessa and crew. Belle has carte blanche to drive at any speed and break any law. The car-less cop and speed-demon cabbie--New York's unlikeliest partners-- begin a high-speed game of cat and mouse with the robbers. That is, if Belle and Washburn don't end up killing each other first.
Taxi is the type of movie that I usually stay away from. I thought this would be a weak comedy but I laughed at quite a few scenes. This movie is not perfect by any means. This is just a movie to get cheap laughs out of.<br/><br/>This is about a really dumb cop who teams up with a hardcore taxi driver to stop supermodels from robbing banks.<br/><br/>The acting may be the weakest part of the film and that&#39;s cause of Jimmy Fallon. I don&#39;t think he&#39;s suited for cinema. Queen Latifah however had a great performance. The supermodels were mind-blowing hot.<br/><br/>Overall, this is a good movie that people should try to enjoy. I had a pretty good time. I rate this film 7/10.
Wow. How do they make movies this bad? Basically, Fallon is a cop who can&#39;t drive, trying to catch some bank robbers, and involving Latifah in his mess, while at the same time, trying to hit on his lieutenant. I went into this movie with an open, open mind, and about 30min in, I wanted to strangle Jimmy Fallon. I would like to say he&#39;s slumming it, but he hasn&#39;t done anything halfway decent. Queen Latifah gave a pretty good performance though. That said, here are my 3 points to ponder: <br/><br/>1. Jimmy Fallon will annoy you.<br/><br/>2. Gisele Bunchen looks good in anything.<br/><br/>3. If you must watch this movie, watch it for one memorable scene with Gisele and Jennifer Esposito. It&#39;s the one true saving grace!
