FAMILY: Hadil Laithy - His mother, who was the one who suggested adopting him when he was literally shown up on their doorstep as a baby. Love Mohammad to itty bitty pieces, as well as her other son Juda. If there's someone who ACTUALLY deserves the Unicorn title, it'd be Hadil. She just takes and takes the shit her separated husband gives her, and oh god she doesn't deserve it Glitch. Forgets english words at times (Moved from Egypt to the US to marry Karim out of her parent's wishes) and will often ask Mo to translate an idea for her, which he knows... NOT a lot of Arabic? So its a comedy of errors. She's short, chunky, wears a Hijab and mom clothes, and is an excellent cartoon artist. She portrays herself as a pigeon in her artwork, and her sons as a little black chick (Mo) and a little white chick (Juda). Would give everyone a tiny cute animal form if she could, and takes care of the birds outside their house. Closeted lesbian, and doesn't... unfortunately, CARES about her husband but does not feel actual romantic or sexual attraction to him? Her care for Karim is mostly feeling like she HAS to, and would probably be a happier person once she breaks off the marriage for real and she and Karim can establish a friendship.

She doesn't understand her son's transition but respects it, her motto pretty much is "I may not understand something, but I will respect it". Is helping Mo get T and go through the process with finding a therapist.

Karim Laithy: An asshole. Well not a complete asshole, but wow. Lets just say thank god certain things are off limit in this RP and that he doesn't show up often/if at all. Mo's father barely thinks of Mo as his son some days. He's just an adopted kid that his mom picked off the doorstep, like all the birds Hadil takes care of. He's an overworked IT Specialist at some big company (CVS comes to mind tbh), and is the kind to take his anger out on other people. Has gotten physical with Hadil before (Though never closed fist, always open slap), but not very often. Not EXCUSABLE, but he's not some guy who comes home every night and hits his wife. Seems to regret it as soon as he does it, but again is NOT AN EXCUSE. Is NOT cool with Mo's Transition, is pretty fucking sexist, and to be honest most of it is because he hasn't been taught better in his own childhood. He's done fucked shit, but I want to emphasize that he's a human being and not just a big characerature of an abusive father. He's got good days. There's days where he and Mo got along, and laughed together. Even if he favors Karim more, there's shreds of light in the darkness where he shows genuine affection for Mo. He's just a self-centered kind of guy who needs to take a step back and fucking adjust himself. Has been kinda starting to do that ever since Mo beat the crap out of his face.

Is almost certainly where Mo gets his explosive temper from. He's realizing this, and is haunted by it.

Juda Laithy: Mo's big brother, a senior in the school they go to. Mo's relationship with Juda is... intense. They are at that age where they antagonize each other a lot, and as well unfortunately Juda makes a lot of excuses for Karim's abusive language and, at times, physical aggression. Part of this is naturally because Karim favors him, and hasn't done anything to him directly. Juda's all silver tongue, good at getting people to do what he wants for him, high ranking member of them sportsball teams kind of guy. He's popular-ish. For people he's around, for the most part, he just seems like a decent guy. But his and Mo's relationship is kind of strained, especially after their parents' separation. He blames Mo for everything going on, and has become more antagonistic of him. Def has not been as nice to Mo as he has in the past. Part of that IS Mo's transition, though Juda's come to terms with it and won't do anything shitty about it.

Juda visits them every weekend, and stops by the apartment often much to Mo's dismay. Someone please repair this brotherly relationship.
