- Plans until next #pastebinmonday:
- - Finish Pokemon White 2 playthrough
- - Derust Kirby Squeak Squad Any% and Nightmare in Dream Land 100% for the Kirby marathon this weekend after I finish White 2.
- - Follow the marathon channel btw http://twitch.tv/kirbyspeedruns Schedule: goo.gl/yJTDER
- - Whatever time I have left will go into SM64DS to smooth out my end game a bit and go for sub 1:25.
- I had a lot of fun this weekend in general. This Smash 4 tournament I went to in LA was awesome! I went 2-2 using Toon Link and Corrin, though my Corrin did surprisingly better than my Toon Link, so next time I play Smash again I'm gonna focus a lot on her to get better. I have a feeling I could have gone farther if my 1st match hadn't been a bit botched due to a faulty adapter making my shield not work for the 1st game (somehow I didn't catch this, but probably because I've never seen that before). It's fine though. That place hosts weeklies every Monday, so I'm probably going to go back there more, probably once SGDQ submissions are over. Favorite memory was making my 1st opponent in Losers rage so hard with my Toon Link that after I 2 Stocked him he unplugged his controller, said "Thanks for playing", and straight up stormed out of the building!
- After that I drove like 45 minutes to this shop in LA that had this special promotion going with the Pokemon Company giving away exclusive merchandise. Unfortunately I just stood in line for 4 hours and got turned away close to the entrance because the shop needed to close. It's like they don't even like money! The whole thing was pretty disappointing in the end. The line went around 2 blocks, but it had many periods where it barely moved at all for like 15-20 minutes. You'd think they'd try to speed things up a bit with the amount of people that showed up, but whatever. As consolation for everyone standing in line and being turned away, they gave everyone this sticker https://twitter.com/MrShasta/status/703831756261031936. It's really cute at least, but I was disappointed and mad in general about the situation.
- At the very least after that whole disappointing situation I came home and had a good time watching the Pokemon movie marathon on Twitch. Pokemon Origins was the movie/4 part special/whatever that stood out the most to me of what I saw. It's a retelling of Pokemon Red in the traditional style of the anime basically. What made it so cool is all the details they put in to make it feel exactly like you're playing the games. Every episode started and ended with the save screen from the games, a lot of the dialogue was exactly how it was in the games when you talk to certain NPCs or objects like books, and it literally showed the complete adventure from beginning to end, even postgame stuff like catching the rest of the Pokemon and Mewtwo! The soundtrack as well really put on the finishing touches too. They were all orchestral remixes of the themes in that game, like the beginning Oak monologue, the Champion theme, and even Lavender Town! It was all presented in a different way than the Pokemon anime itself was as well. Everything seemed a lot more serious and in the short amount of time they had to work with there was surprisingly a lot of character development for everyone that was introduced. All the small details and how it was presented made this a really cool special to watch and I'd highly recommend checking it out eventually if you love Pokemon Red. It's about 1 1/2 hours long or so.
- It was great to hang out with people in Discord that I don't usually talk to when watching these movies too, and I'd like to do that again if you're reading this :>
