  3. ---------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5.
  6. To live by one's duty, is it happiness or a misfortune ?
  7.
  8. I don't know the answer to that, but this much I can say.
  9.
  10. My life is mine. I decide my own purpose and I won't ever want to tread on a path laid by someone else without questioning anything.
  11.
  12. After all, that's just how everyone are. Of the six eras, six worlds I watched; each of them had their own kind of vibe(laws) but the pride that lay at their very foundation stayed consistent all the same.
  13.
  14. I think, therefore I am. To shout with all your heart and soul that "This is me, this is how I am".
  15. Find your own way of life, believe in it and risk your very being to carry it through.
  16.
  17. That's what it means to be human. That's how the world turns.
  18. Each and every person carries with them a color that collectively depicts this kaleidoscope that we know as 'all of creation'.
  19.
  20. People all have their own history, their own drama. Regardless of power or social status, they are all the protagonists of a story that they call their lives...
  21.
  22. Hence, I too think that's I want to be and how I should be.
  23.
  24. Alone in this place where where's nothing at all, while I continued watching others' drama(lives) for an eternity; I started to think about my own drama(way of life).
  25.
  26. As the protagonist, I wanted to be a 'me' that would make my own chest swell with pride.
  27.
  28. For what will happen from now on, once more I think I should watch the process all over again.
  29.
  30. ---------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. The beginning era was a tragedy. In those days, I had just recently been born so I knew nothing, but now I can say that even when compared to the successive eras it was a rather detestable world.
  33.
  34. First of all, people just died too much. The two opposing forces are constantly at each other's throats; washing away blood with blood, they continued to war for tens of thousands of years without end.
  35.
  36. A mutual slaughter between 'black' and 'white' that was made to repeat on a cosmic scale.
  37.
  38. Duality of Good and Evil... is what I called this era, but really there was no deeper meaning to it.
  39.
  40. It wasn't an era where a scholarly definition of Good and Evil could be applied in any way.
  41. I simply called them that because those two gangs that are completely incompatible in spirit named themselves Good and Evil, that's all.
  42.
  43. As a tendency, those folks who called themselves Good were so rough and violent that they were dangerous.
  44. Their appearances dreadful, covered in filth and their very nature was stained with hatred and resentment.
  45.
  46. They destroy both the enemy and themselves, leaving behind nothing but curses.
  47. When compared to the side of Good, the Evil were utterly brilliant.
  48.
  49. Dazzlingly beautiful men and women smiled with elegance as they conducted themselves with selfishness(confidence). Whether they were carrying out the massacre of hundreds of millions or creating monsters that were like stars that devour other stars, there wasn't an ounce maliciousness in them.
  50.
  51. May it be the Atelier of Destruction or the Murder Princess, despite the dangerous titles that they were called by; the Seven Demon Lords that reigned at the pinnacle of Evil were unchangingly gorgeous.
  52.
  53. The more the villains laughed, the more the heroes of justice angered.
  54. I suppose it was just that kind of era, governed by those kind of rules.
  55.
  56. It is only now I finally understand just how severe the irony of it was, but this beginning era was deliberately nasty is what I managed to express.
  57.
  58. From birth, I was an unmoved, irresponsible spectator.
  59.
  60. ---------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. — Die! Perish! Who gave you permission to breathe?
  63.
  64. In the first era, there was a man on the side that was called Good.
  65.
  66. But even amongst them, he was clearly different.
  67.
  68. His anger, resentment, overwhelming killing intent, his curse for the enemies — everything was stronger, deeper.
  69.
  70. Although it was true that the side of Good was generally brutal and destructive, he towered above them all.
  71.
  72. Maybe it would be better to say that the hatred was the only thing he had in common with them.
  73.
  74. And so, he kept fighting armed with his hate alone.
  75.
  76. Be there countless foes or superior allies, he would plunge into the fiercest battlefield, alone.
  77.
  78. He’s a fool, completely insane. What’s wrong with him?
  79.
  80. When I first saw him run wild, my only feeling was of contempt. But in the next moment, this emotion changed into astonishment.
  81.
  82. — Where’s Evil? Where’s that scum? I will destroy it all, leave no trace behind.
  83.
  84. He would not accept death. He would not suffer defeat.
  85.
  86. No matter how hopeless the situation was, he still lived through and kept killing.
  87.
  88. Twisting the reasoning, overwhelming any human logic...
  89.
  90. Through his wicked path to Hell, with a sword alone, he entered God’s domain.
  91.
  92. In the whole six subsequent worlds, not a single person could match this man born in the very first era, who kept fighting, ceaselessly taking lives over and over.
  93.
  94. Hitting, gouging, chopping, again and again.
  95.
  96. There’s no equal to him in how much blood he shed, and how much blood washed over him.
  97.
  98. Looking at them, and hearing their agony.
  99.
  100. He alone eradicated the whole universe.
  101.
  102. — I am not Good? Well, that’s just perfect. Then I will become Evil that eats preys on Evil.
  103.
  104. Without mortification, without regret, rejecting everything, the one who feels no remorse over his evil deeds.
  105.
  106. Shinga: Standing alone in the wasteland of massacre... Truly the pinnacle of military arts.
  107.
  108. Shinga: I am glad that such a man was born under my law.
  109.
  110. Shinga: Well then, strike me down. Next is your turn.
  111.
  112. And with that, the first era came to an end.
  113.
  114. That man who killed the first god and usurped the Throne became the second god.
  115.
  116. His name was — the Remorseless.
  117.
  118. And his law was perfectly described by that single word.
  119.
  120. Muzan: My heirs — those who are born in my Paradise of the Fallen. Feel no shame nor regret. Feel no remorse for your evil deeds.
  121.
  122. Muzan: Live in embrace of sin and punishment. Such is the nature of man.
  123.
  124. The era of the Remorseless was the one where evil preys on evil. Complete chaos, simply speaking.
  125.
  126. Everyone was holding an original sin, and living in the world of suffering.
  127.
  128. Survival of the fittest, everyone devouring each other in pursuit of pleasure and personal gain — a world without a single truly good person. Strength is the justice — no one would argue that here.
  129.
  130. From the desires bound by nothing, the civilization raised quickly, and with it, grew the sin. It repeated, again and again.
  131.
  132. Like an overripened fruit, with a sweet smell as if from the flames of Hell, but at the same time, tempting like a Paradise.
  133.
  134. In comparison with the original world, this one was much more lively — and full of smiles. Because without the shame or regret, there was no grief as well.
  135.
  136. With the strength being justice, this era was good for the strong ones. Even if one was overpowered by another, there was nothing complicated in that. In a sense, it was a very pure world.
  137.
  138. Very lively and merry, a foolish world filled with foolish people.
  139.
  140. As the Remorseless said, it may have been very human-like. But exactly because of that...
  141.
  142. Just like the Remorseless raised to end the wars, another man was born to end the desire.
  143.
  144. From the skyscraper of science and technology, the pinnacle of splendor — the man who challenged the Heavens.
  145.
  146. Satanael: The purification of sin — such is my raison d'être.
  147.
  148. Satanael: To wash away any filth from this world.
  149.
  150. This man was furious. Just like Muzan, he wanted to exterminate all the evil.
  151.
  152. Like father, like son — this similarity was too strong for me to not feel like their nature was the same.
  153.
  154. Of course, they weren't actually connected by blood. But still, the god is both the father and the mother of all things.
  155.
  156. And because all the creation is the part of god, this man was also a part of the Remorseless — his child.
  157.
  158. In that sense, this one surely received the most of the father's blood [soul].
  159.
  160. Satanael: Oh foolish God, your Law is a wrong one.
  161.
  162. Satanael: This world is broken — and it needs to be turned right.
  163.
  164. His original sin was — Pride.
  165.
  166. Self-centered to the point of distrusting the whole world — absolutely sure of himself being good, being correct.
  167.
  168. And to prove himself being correct, he was ready to do anything. Without shame. Without regret. The very concept of apologizing was not in this world.
  169.
  170. He thought himself correct and believed in his ideas completely.
  171.
  172. An absolutely, perfectly clean, almost divine pride — feeling no remorse for his deeds.
  173.
  174. Satanael: I shall create a snow-white soul [life], without sin, without an impurity.
  175.
  176. Satanael: Although it sounds like a work for a god — this is not a problem. The one in Heavens is impure.
  177.
  178. Satanael: This place [The Divine Throne] is the one fitting for me.
  179.
  180. With the living weapons he created, he concluded great destruction — calling it a great purification. Truly, sounds like a task for the evil that eats evil.
  181.
  182. And while the Remorseless with a sword alone exterminated the whole universe, this man took a roundabout way, using all the tools he could.
  183.
  184. But it wasn't that much different. Without the practice and physical strength, the intelligence alone wouldn't make much difference.
  185.
  186. So, in the end, those two resembled each other very much.
  187.
  188. Muzan: Welcome, Nerose Satanael. I know you very well.
  189.
  190. Muzan: I am the Remorseless. The one who could be called your ancestor.
  191.
  192. Satanael... looking at the one who would later become the third god, the Remorseless smiled happily.
  193. As if he was waiting for that moment.
  194.
  195. Muzan: You want to correct the polluted world. Cannot forgive the sinful ones. You want to exterminate all the evil, and you wish for the land of goodness.
  196.
  197. Muzan: But to destroy that filth you have to be drenched in blood yourself. After creating a pure world, in the end, you alone will remain, as an ultimate venom.
  198.
  199. Muzan: Such is the chain of sin and punishment. Then, how will you act?
  200.
  201. Muzan: For what purpose you have this smart head of yours?
  202.
  203. Muzan: Embracing the same ideals with me, build another land, different from mine. I believe that you can do it. This Paradise...
  204.
  205. Muzan: Show it to me. Next is your turn.
  206.
  207. By erasing the last, ultimate venom — himself — the Remorseless was trying to put the end to the war of good and evil from the first era.
  208.
  209. Never wavering even a single bit, an endlessly strong and stern man.
  210.
  211. Staying true to the oath of exterminating the evil through his whole life — eternally invincible.
  212.
  213. Satanael: Then I will take your place through my own methods.
  214.
  215. Satanael: Surely you won't call it cowardice, father.
  216.
  217. If the Remorseless was the pinnacle of military arts, then Satanael was the pinnacle of wisdom. To begin with, a warrior's and a scholar's battlefields are different.
  218.
  219. In that sense, on his own field, the one of killing, the Remorseless was undefeated until the very end. Through all the eras, there was no other person who went through their life undefeated, like him.
  220.
  221. However, Satanael was not a normal person — he instantly realized that his sworn enemy could not be defeated through the fighting.
  222. Being the very image of effectiveness, optimization, and rationality — Satanael easily discarded his useless pride.
  223.
  224. Like a machine — it might be a banal metaphor, but out of the all who lived in the successive generations, Satanael was probably the most inhumane of then.
  225.
  226. ---------------------------------------------------------
  227.
  228. “One day, I suddenly noticed something unpleasant”
  229.
  230. “Who the fuck are you? The trash that is touching me?”
  231.
  232. Why did something like that happen? I didn’t want to understand it, but I did
  233.
  234. Tasogare doesn’t interfere with the hearts of men, nor with the way they lived their lives. She permitted them freedom, that meant that it was possible for a paradoxical like way of thinking to come into existence.
  235.
  236. “So I can do whatever I want riiight? It's alright if I fucking break you riiight?”
  237.
  238. If I had to describe them in one word, they were unhappy. The lives they lived were rather distorted.
  239.
  240. It wasn’t Tasogare’s fault. She did not manage the fates of every being, She wasn’t one to grant happiness nor misery to anyone.
  241. They understand that, even so, they struck back.
  242.
  243. To overthrow the world, not just the Fifth throne, everything. It was for that reason that group of religious fanatics attempted to demolish everything.
  244.
  245. I’ll never be able to forget their leader’s words
  246.
  247. >I live for the moment, we surely exist in the present, this is true for heaven and earth
  248. >I do not know of the next world(next), nor do I have any interest in it. Now is the time that I will attain happiness. For that sake I have mustered my entire soul. I will not be denied.
  249. >That is what it means to live!
  250.
  251. -- is what they said. It was frustrating, though at the same time it was magnificent as well.
  252.
  253. They didn’t have a vessel that could become god, but they never cared about such a thing in the first place
  254.
  255. Their aim was the destruction of the throne’s foundation, and so they created the most lethal weapon
  256.
  257. That was Hajun….. The one who became the 6th generation god. The most depraved and malevolent deity of all generations
  258.
  259. "Metsujin Messou -- I simply want to be alone"
  260.
  261. "All of you are just lowly trash born from a mountain of shit, don’t you dare enter my sight!”
  262.
  263. In the end, the age of Tasogare was destroyed. As were those fanatics.
  264.
  265. However, as far as they were concerned, they did not lose nor did they fail. Samsara Vartin( Wreath of Chakravartin) had aimed for only one thing, the complete destruction of the throne’s system.
  266.
  267. Hajun existed as that possibility. If this Jashin could stand at the apex, he could end this history which has spanned from the very first age.
  268.
  269. Why you might ask? The law of the 6th heaven was to massacre all others save for yourself.
  270.
  271.
  272. ---------------------------------------------------------
  273.
  274.
  275. “So, there you have it, we’re parting ways. From here on, I have to fight.”
  276.
  277. A long, long time. I’ve been here, alone , for such a long time. However, because of that result, I met you.
  278.
  279. So, I’m satisfied, I’m not lonely anymore.
  280.
  281. In front of me was a boy, looking at me with a puzzled face. I put on a smile filled with spirit.
  282.
  283. “I’m Kouha, I’m your older sister.”
  284.
  285. For the sake of your happiness, I’ll do my best. Yeah. That really fired me up.
  286.
  287. “When you let go of my hands, you’ll forget everything. I’ll talk the stuff you don’t need in your life with me.”
  288.
  289. “A normal and enjoyable life. One where you’ll be able to experience youth, both sweet and sour.”
  290.
  291. “All right?”
  292.
  293. I’ve been training with everything that I had for this moment, I’ve gotten better at putting on a smile right? As far as I’m concerned, he’s a top rate man, so I’m truly happy. But…
  294.
  295. He probably doesn’t understand anything huh?. He’s just been looking at me with that cute face.
  296.
  297. Uuu, he’s so cuuute. I want to squeeze him. I want to hug him tight. I want to play with him like we always do even more.
  298.
  299. But, that’s no good. In my drama(life) there’s something I have to do, I have to protect this child.
  300.
  301. So, no matter what happens, I’ve got to press through
  302.
  303. In the middle of this Shinza’s history I found it, my one and absolute truth.
  304.
  305. “I love you. Goodbye.”
  306.
  307. I’m stubborn but I have to put on a bright smile. I let go of his hands and walked away.
  308.
  309. Come on, don’t look back. I can’t look back.
  310.
  311. I decided this for the sake of his happiness, put up with it. Don’t cry Kouha!
  312.
  313. “So this was where you were, I was looking for you”
  314.
  315. “What the hell, I was expecting you to not be late”
  316.
  317. “Can’t you just back off and leave me alone? I really hate that part of you”
  318.
  319. Because this piece of shit dumb-ass showed up, I stood between us like I was trying to hide him.
  320.
  321. I don’t want her to even see my precious little brother.
  322.
  323. “What are you laughing at. I can’t stand it”
  324.
  325. “Ahh, my bad. I was just thinking about the one that you raised”.
  326.
  327. “He’s truly adorable, Kouha.”
  328.
  329.
  330. ---------------------------------------------------------
  331.
  332.
  333.
  334. It seems to be vastly misunderstood, but I do not like the war. Nor do I kill more than necessary.
  335.
  336. There was just a whole bunch of those I couldn't abide. So, they kept me busy all the time.
  337.
  338. I had no option to disregard them — that’s how I was from birth.
  339.
  340. Nothing would change for good if I tried to oppose myself.
  341.
  342. So, I took the sword, and went with that way of living, giving it my all.
  343.
  344. Without deep meaning or complicated circumstances.
  345.
  346. I was hitting, gouging, chopping, again and again.
  347.
  348. Looking at them, and hearing their agony, shedding blood and being drenched in it.
  349.
  350. For me, it wasn’t different from eating or excreting, a most basic and simple part of life.
  351.
  352. “Take it easy”, “You’ve done enough” — I’d been hearing all these things from those concerned about me. But it just sounded like a pointless drivel.
  353.
  354. Even now, I still cannot grasp it.
  355.
  356. If you really think about me, then do not pull my legs.
  357.
  358. In every single second whilst they were twaddling, how much scum were running around wreaking havoc?
  359.
  360. By indulging in that hypocrisy, they committed countless mistakes that could never be rectified.
  361.
  362. For me, the enemy of my enemy would never become an ally.
  363.
  364. In fact, to my knowledge, they were worse than just foes.
  365.
  366. So, it’s unnecessary. I do not need allies.
  367.
  368. There isn’t a single person I want to walk through my life with.
  369.
  370. In the end, no one was left. I killed everyone.
  371.
  372. The previous God, the Good, the Evil, even my brothers in arms.
  373.
  374. Standing alone in the wasteland of carnage… that’s how the Truth described me.
  375.
  376. Although I wouldn’t want to be compared to that brat Hajun, in a sense, we might be birds of a feather.
  377. I sought the extermination.
  378.
  379. Those impeding me from the filth disposal were an eyesore — I eliminated them.
  380.
  381. In the end, only me and the very source of the world’s Evil remained.
  382.
  383. The ultimate venom.
  384.
  385. What clarity! Truly it was refreshing.
  386.
  387. I am the Remorseless. I have not a single regret over the mountain of corpses left on my wicked path to Hell.
  388.
  389. Embracing sin and punishment alike — there’s nothing else to say about my universe.
  390.
  391. With that, I could’ve just disappeared.
  392.
  393. But for me, who knew neither shame nor regret, the very concepts of grief or introspection did not exist, so I had no self-destructive thoughts.
  394.
  395. Still, I was sure of one thing.
  396.
  397. Amongst my children born in Paradise Lost, someone would certainly reach the Divine Throne.
  398.
  399. Your sin and punishment are both mine.
  400.
  401. Because under the chosen law, my shameless deeds would be repeated by my children.
  402.
  403. If I could do it, so could they.
  404.
  405. Turning the world into almost the same one would’ve been boring.
  406.
  407. Then there’s no reason to give up on the Throne.
  408.
  409. As I said, I had no self-destructive thoughts, and if it would be all the same — then I won’t surrender the Throne.
  410. I will choose my demise myself.
  411.
  412. In the Hell where evil feeds on evil, I won’t concede the Throne until there blooms the flower different from the Remorseless.
  413. And Nerose Satanael arose.
  414.
  415. Seeing the flourishing Morning Star ahead, I left everything to him.
  416.
  417. With the duality of good and evil, and the endless chain of sin and punishment ceasing, I finally embraced the feeling of relief.
  418.
  419. And yet.
  420.
  421. — It was just a worthless farce. Truly vexing.
  422.
  423. One law takes the place of another, even now this world is constantly changing.
  424.
  425. It is no different from the Shinga’s era.
  426.
  427. — I misread the whole thing.
  428.
  429. Yes, misread. I need to recall the long-forgotten truth.
  430.
  431. I wanted to eliminate the fault in this disgusting world’s rule.
  432.
  433. After overthrowing the Truth, and taking the Throne, I made a mistake.
  434.
  435. I failed to recognize that the root of everything was in a much deeper place.
  436.
  437. And if it is so, there’s but one thing to do.
  438.
  439. — Cutting it off. This time, completely.
  440.
  441. And after this, eradicating all the successive Throne generations.
  442.
  443. If my job wasn’t complete, I simply need to redo it from the beginning, without any remorse.
  444.
  445. Standing alone in the wasteland of carnage — that’s how it should end.
  446.
  447. — That’s how it is, Morning Star. The history that began from my mistake was all for nothing.
  448.
  449. — I won’t ask you to accept it — but to understand.
  450.
  451. In the past, present, and the future alike — I do not have a single ally.
  452.
  453. — There are only enemies, and enemies of my enemies.
  454.
  455. ---------------------------------------------------------
  456.
  457. Kouha: "This is Kouha, from the Shinza Interior Core"
  458.
  459. Kouha: "Verifying re-connection with Varuna, from Observer Alpha to Zeta."
  460.
  461. Kouha: "Aeonization of Shinga, Muzan, Myoujou, Suigin, Ougon, Tasogare, Setsuna, Hajun accomplished."
  462.
  463. Kouha: "From here on, Pantheon will be put into action, over."
  464.
  465. Mithra: "Roger. There are no issues on this end."
  466.
  467. Mithra: "All was for this moment. You shall open the final gate. Bring down Naraka."
  468.
  469. I soar. Passing over the Event Horizon, towards the center of all and everything,
  470. I plunge in faster than even light itself.
  471.
  472. Inside, a feeling abruptly overflowed my chest.
  473.
  474. "This is anger."
  475.
  476. It was not mine alone. It was His and hers. Each and every last one of them.
  477.
  478. This place is dominated by wrath. This is what I realized.
  479.
  480. For this world called Shinza, to be angry at something was essential.
  481.
  482. It was the passport to a priviledged class. One who possesses the deeper sense of anger gains the superior position.
  483. That is the kind of System that exists.
  484.
  485. "Dies Irae(The Day of Wrath).."
  486.
  487. As far as I know, the only clear exception to this was Tasogare.
  488.
  489. Putting aside the ever-ambiguous Shinga, the rest are incarnations of anger that don't see eye-to-eye.
  490.
  491. This is the kind of force we are composed of, in other words.. a Pantheon put together by wrath.
  492.
  493. Then what should I do ? Simple.
  494.
  495. I should let the fury explode and blast all this bullshit away.
  496.
  497. "After all, I am angry."
  498.
  499. A life lived on a road paved with rules ? I don't want any of it.
  500.
  501. Even if as a result I was forced into this plight where I must move onward in that direction, I want to believe that I am advancing on my own will.
  502.
  503. I'm not some plaything after all.
  504.
  505. "I am me.. !"
  506.
  507. "Here I go !!"
