TSW 33: John's Nightmare

  1. IcePickLobotomy You see a pair of the shadow people flicker as your light passes over them, their voices drift away as the wind gently stirs the ruined windows.
  2. JohnH goes to the window to see if his pursuer is still there
  3. JohnH making sure to keep the light as hidden as possible
  4. IcePickLobotomy You see her, beyond the gate but still walking at a sedate pace. She pauses and looks at the window, directly at you. She tilts her head a moment, and then begins to walk to the gate. The pillar of smoke still lingers like a stain of grease in the sky.
  5. JohnH "Crap."
  6. JohnH frowns and turns back into the room. He starts pushing furniture to the edges of the room, save for the windows and doors, leaving a single table in the center of the room, accompanied by two chairs
  7. IcePickLobotomy You manage to make a impromptu barricade across the door. piled high enough that it should slow down any attacker and give you a chance to strike at them while they clamber over. Down the hallway to your left you note a bulk-head door, spotted with rust.

  9. IcePickLobotomy JohnH: It doesn't take long, though while looking for another chair you notice a metal bulk-head door on the far end of a hallway, it's spotted with rust and the tattered remnants of signage. It looks like the bulkhead doors in the base.
  10. JohnH sets his headgear on the table and goes to see if the bulkhead door is locked, before heading back to the table

  12. JohnH cracks the door and then goes to sit down at the table
  13. IcePickLobotomy JohnH: It's old and rusted but it squals open. It reveals a long hallway, longer than the length of the remaining hallway should allow for, that leads into the murky dark. The floor is a currigated metal grating, and pipes run along both the walls and ceiling. It's worn and rusted, the pipes rumble and groan and the coppery scent of blood and rot linger in the stagnant air. You feel the wind...
  14. IcePickLobotomy ...stir as a faint breeze blows across your back and into the tunnel.
  15. IcePickLobotomy Slap. Slap. Slap. The sounds of something walking up the stairwell with wet footsteps. The scent of blood grows stronger and fresh in the air, the feeling of it clings to the back of your throat.
  16. JohnH gulps heavily, and sets his hands on the table, leaning forward ever so slightly
  17. IcePickLobotomy And then she steps into view. She tilts her head at the sight of you and continues to strike forward.
  18. JohnH waits to see if she'll take the other chair before acting
  19. IcePickLobotomy She ignores the chair as she moves closer to you, her fingers trailing along the table leaving a streak of fresh blood. . . .
  20. JohnH bolts for the bulkhead, deciding safety over reasoning
  21. IcePickLobotomy You dive out of the way as she lashes out of you and take off down the bulk-head door. You quickly outpace here. But echoing down from behind you is the sound of her wet footsteps as she slowly walks across the metal flooring.
  22. JohnH bursts through the bulkhead and seals it behind him, before running down the corridor
  23. IcePickLobotomy And you turn to look behind you you see her flowing through the gaps in the doors and reform on this side. She continues to walk forward.
  24. JohnH stops at the other end of the corridor and shouts "What the hell do you want."
  25. IcePickLobotomy |Die Hunter. Die tired and afraid like the children you killed.|
  26. JohnH "I haven't killed any children!"
  27. IcePickLobotomy |Enough lies. Run and you may yet live another day.|
  28. JohnH "Howabout you just get out of my head!"
  29. IcePickLobotomy |Only in death will you find peace.|
  30. JohnH "Then I'll have to kill you!"
  31. IcePickLobotomy |You will not find me as easy prey as the children you are accustomed to.|
  32. JohnH "I haven't killed any children!" John takes off
  33. IcePickLobotomy |Lies will not serve you here Hunter.|
  34. JohnH yells something incoherently as he moves forward
  35. IcePickLobotomy You come across a split in the hallway. Down a stairwell, or continue forward and down the hallway.
  36. IcePickLobotomy Down the stairwell. The scent of blood and rot grows stronger. Snatches of conversation and shadowy figures linger at the edge of your vision "-rider has been delayed, we're going to need to switch to a non-mobile power source" and " is the 2nd test pilot we've lost. When are the Nariman's going to finish their side of thin. . ." It's darker down here, the dull red glow of the emergency...
  37. IcePickLobotomy ...lights the only source of light save for where the beam of your flashlight reaches out. You can go left or right. There's some script on the wall, to left seems to lead to "Primary Fabrication Area" to the right, "BioLabs".
  38. IcePickLobotomy JohnH: You take off down the left. The scent of blood and rot grows strong, you can hear the wet slap of footsteps behind you. You're putting distance between you and her, You come across another bulk-head door
  39. JohnH tries the door
  40. IcePickLobotomy Also unlocked. But is groans loudly as you open it.
  41. IcePickLobotomy (Worth noting you do still have your side-arm on you)
  42. JohnH (That would have been nice to know earlier lol)
  43. IcePickLobotomy (Sorry boutt hat)
  44. JohnH steps through the door and looks around
  45. IcePickLobotomy And the stench sends you to your knees, retching up what meager rations remained in your stomach. It's like a walking into a wall, the scent of rot clinging to your skin and throat, a thick haze hangs in the air.
  46. IcePickLobotomy You're on the start of a catwalk, overlooking. . . a series of massive pits and a collasal room. It stretches out before you, the walls and ceiling not in sight from the distant dark. A hellish red glow from the lights below you reveal the source of the smell. Massive twisted bodies, their forms warped and broken, rotten flesh slughing off the bones and collecting in a murky pool of...
  47. IcePickLobotomy ...coagulated blood and bits of gristle that float in the brackish and sludge like collection of blood and liquidized flesh.
