- A well-balanced mage that can equip medium armor, guns and light bladed weapons in addition to the usual repertoire. High Wisdom and low Agility are the only outliers in a spread stuck firmly within average range. Although mostly a support class with unconventional emotion-themed options (that often endanger them), base Soulslingers can hit relatively hard with their magic when lulls in party injury arise, and its specializations make a straightforward choice between improved offense+buffs and defense+debuffs.
- (Note that these were designed around the EOV paradigm, and I hadn't dug into that game's classes very heavily then. Some skill requirements may be unneeded, and of course if this were a real class this would all be subject to change for balance, freshness and quality of life.)
- ★Emotion Mastery
- Increases the potency of most skills that heal or deal damage. Skills affected by EM are referred to elsewhere as emotion skills.
- ★Gratitude
- Regains a small amount of TP when receiving beneficial effects from allies, or when a debuff ends.
- ★Open Embrace, EM 1
- Heals one ally and cures mental/magical ailments.
- ★Restoring Embrace, EM 1
- Heals one ally and cures physical ailments.
- ★Outpour, EM 3
- Vastly lowers an enemy’s physical and magical offense for 1-3 turns, then lessens over the course of 2-0 turns (lasts longer and with better effect at higher levels). Only works once per enemy.
- ★Calling Love, OE 3 RE 3
- Resurrects one ally and buffs their defenses. Deals a bit of damage to the user.
- ★Safeguard, G 2 RE 2
- Increases the user and one ally's defenses for one turn, splitting single-target damage on the ally between them. May keep the ally alive after a fatal blow.
- ★Empathic Weapon, EM 3
- Deals damage with held weapon, scaling with user's magic attack. Not affected by Emotion Mastery. Damage improves if Gratitude activated that turn, and lowers but partially ignores defense if Nihil is in effect.
- ★Revile, EM 1
- Deals random Fire/Ice/Bolt damage to one enemy. Reduces resistance to that element at higher levels.
- ★Passion Surge, EM 5
- When used, allows for a single-target emotion skill to be cast in the same turn and affect a whole row for more TP. Random-target skills instead have a chance to deal splash damage.
- Witch Specialization
- Grants the unit an increased focus on offense with powerful elemental coverage, at the expense of imprecision and lowered attributes. Quicker moves via careful use of Feedback and abundant access to debuffs round out the selection a bit, although the reliability of ailments and instant death is a bit spotty at a somewhat high initial price. Nihil is a strong finishing attack, one of the most easily procured and damaging sources of Almighty damage, but the restrictions it places on the user’s moveset could fatally punish reckless use.
- ★Confidence
- Increases the user's magical attack and evasion.
- ★Betraying Embrace, EM 6 OE 5
- Heals one enemy, setting a debuff that lowers their magical defense, and may inflict mental ailments at the end of the turn. Strictly single target. If used after Outpour, the debuff also slightly reduces offenses.
- ★Deadly Embrace, EM 6 RE 5
- Heals one enemy, and may inflict physical ailments or instantly kill at the end of the turn. Strictly single target. If used after Outpour, damages enemy instead of healing them and attempts to instantly kill on skill use instead of at turn's end.
- ★Fury, R 4
- Deals several random Fire attacks, lowering user/target's physical defense.
- ★Despair, R 4
- Deals several random Ice attacks, lowering user/foe's speed.
- ★Disgust, R 4
- Deals several random Bolt attacks, lowering user/foe's evasion.
- ★Nihil, EM 8 RS 2 R 2
- Consumes user debuffs to deal Almighty damage to all enemies that scales with amount cleared, and has a chance to instantly kill.
- Locks Emotion skills for a few turns.
- (Note: Gratitude activates.)
- ★Feedback Re 2 Ra 5
- Temporarily increases speed after hitting enemy weaknesses, raises the chance for random-target skills to hit enemies with the appropriate elemental weakness, and raises the chance for Revile to hit a weakness (if any).
- ★Relentless Spite PS 3
- Increases the effect and duration of debuffs to enemies. Slightly improves ailment RNG.
- ★Rapture PS 3
- Increases own offense for a few turns. Attack increases further for each debuff set during this period.
- Martyr Specialization
- Improves upon the class's main function, with higher defenses and several concessions to fast, effective healing. Although still not a very traditional healer, sporting skills that can jeopardize the user's safety, Martyr Soulslingers are capable of great results with care.
- ★Self-Respect
- Increases user's physical and magical defense.
- ★Drop Everything OE 4 RE 4
- Immediately removes binds for one ally and heals them. Lowers user's defenses for that turn.
- ★Refusal EM 6 DE 1
- Healing items and skills used on dead allies may revive them with 1 HP. Chance improves if they died on that turn.
- ★Cold Sweat EM 8 DE 3
- Heals the living ally with the lowest HP% a small amount when another dies, one or two times. Upgrading gives a better chance to heal more than once and increases maximum number of heals.
- ★Desperate Love EM 10 Ref 3 CS 3
- Allows Cold Sweat to target dead allies (prioritizing the one that just died). Reviving an ally with Cold Sweat triggers Gratitude but also deals some damage to the user.
- ★Assist EM 5
- Lets one ally's attack cost no TP, and slightly raises its power.
- ★Cheer A 2
- Buffs one ally's highest stat.
- ★Intensive Care S 5 DE 5
- Heals with increased priority, then takes damage that would be fatal for the ally. At the end of the turn, cures ailments and unbinds, or heals again if neither are present.
- ★Inspiration C 3 EM 6
- Negates one ally's debuffs to restore a small amount of TP, and gives a minor charge effect.
- ★Sense Intent EM 5
- Passive chance to lower elemental damage for allies in the user's row.
