  1. [00:07] Dylerun Grauhimmel whispers something.
  2. [00:07] "There's something we need to talk about, Katzan." She replied softly. There was something different, indeed, but it was more in mentality than anything. A motion towards the south was made as she leaned forward.
  3.
  4. "In private or not at all."
  5. (Joanne Stiller)
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [00:07] Katzan Xizoh whispers: Is it something you'd prefer in private?
  9. [00:09] Joanne Stiller says, "We're going to my ship. My apprentice won't bother us if I tell her not to."
  10. [00:11] Joanne glanced towards the direction of the door to the back room, then turned towards Katzan. For a moment, she remained silent, but then spoke in an uncharacteristic amount of bravery and boldness to drop news that was probably ground-shattering.
  11.
  12. "I want to be honest with you... Katzan, you have a daughter."
  13. (Joanne Stiller)
  14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15.
  16. [00:16] Katzan looked around the place, the same neutral expression analyzing it carefully, and as he opened his mouth to say something, he could simply feel that she was going to start speaking. He would let her go first before he started speaking, of course.
  17.
  18. And she said it all at once. The news dropped bluntly at him. Mouth opened slightly, eyebrows furrowed down, a slight quirk in his cheek, as he finally took it all in.
  19.
  20. Then, a faint smile appeared upon his face. "Another Xizoh? Wow. Where... Where is she?" He approached her, obviously... Even if he had taken more than a few moments to process it all, he seemed quite... Happy about it.
  21. (Katzan Xizoh)
  22. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23.
  24. [00:23] "Hidden away and being cared for by some friends." Joanne glanced away, obviously having something else on her mind as well. Of course, the fact was that she hadn't just found someone who was Katzan's child. "She's just as much mine as yours."
  25.
  26. "I hid her for a reason, Katzan. She's our child and I want her to live a happy life." She elaborated on it, too. That was highly unusual for her, but she did do a lot of thinking while this whole thing was happening, and before it too.
  27. (Joanne Stiller)
  28. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  29.
  30. [00:30] He leaned his head sideways slightly. "Wait." He said, the smile vanishing. A somber expression took over him, yellow irises locked up on her face.
  31.
  32. A faint glimmer of gold washed over his skin, and a slight huff left from his nostrils. Her elaboration... Served for nothing but to furrow his eyebrows slightly more.
  33.
  34. "You're stopping me from seeing my daughter, Joanne?" It was a simple question, imbued with a slight hint of rage. Perhaps something that she never had seen before, a different manner of rage.
  35.
  36. "You think being near me won't let her be happy?!"
  37. (Katzan Xizoh)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [00:39] Joanne made eye contact the moment Katzan spoke in anger. In that moment, any thoughts of self control were tossed to the wind. Years of bottling negative emotions finally got to her and she yelled, loudly, louder than she had ever managed to without the anger she felt, "STOP PROVING MY POINT!"
  41.
  42. In those red eyes was so much emotion that it might have been like looking into a storm of raw, unbridled chaos. She shook lightly, even, as she quietly spoke, "Do you think this is what I want for her? For you to look at me like that? For you to be a Sin Mage, going off to war whenever you can?"
  43.
  44. "I don't want her to end up like me, torn between a decision of betrayal or being with the person I love... I don't want her to have to grow up without parents, either." It was eating at Joannea lot, quite blatantly, and she looked like she was on the verge of tears.
  45. (Joanne Stiller)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [00:53] Obviously, it all went over his head. He was unable to see through his own mistakes, to see his own flaws. Whatever it was that she wanted to prove to him, it was impossible of being proved. Such was the burden of the sinner.
  49.
  50. Inside him, what boiled was only the feeling of being betrayed. Betrayed by the one he trusted the most, more than anything. It was such a horrible sensation, so dire. It would be perhaps the first -- and from how his eyes burned with rage, the last -- time she would see him looking hurt.
  51.
  52. No flames blasting out. His hands moved upwards, around the height of her ears, and his fingers squirmed and twitched, balling up into fists at the end.
  53.
  54. A loud scream echoed from his mouth, as he rose his hand high and downed it -- But turned backwards quickly before, the hand going against the counter, a broken bone perforating through his skin. The wood made him bleed, blood quenching the floor...
  55.
  56. ... And yet, he seemed to bestill hurt by what she told him.
  57.
  58. "Do you think you have ANY right to say what will happen to a Xizoh, Joanne?" He said, looking towards her over his shoulder. "You're making her be raised without a father already! She won't have the comfort of knowing that her father was a HERO like I had. She will just think that I ABANDONED her. She won't even KNOW what the name XIZOH means."
  59.
  60. His hand twitched slightly, the golden glow focusing around his arm, the bone slowly being pushed inwards once again, as he tried to keep his calm.
  61.
  62. "Joanne. I'm going to ask you one. Last. Time." He looked towards her, the splinters of wood falling down onto the ground, expelled by his regeneration. "Where. Is. My. Daughter."
  63.
  64. A shake of his head. "You can't say you love me if you're going to keep me from even seeing her."
  65. (Katzan Xizoh)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [01:11] Joanne seemed stunned for a long few moments after Katzan's speech. She couldn't even move and didn't even try, he was just proving him as dangerous as she saw him to their own child and herself. Her next words started loud enough, but became lower as she saw this becoming worse and worse by the very second.
  69.
  70. "OUR daughter, Katzan. OUR daughter will know who her father is and it will be her choice to meet him when she's older. Please... Please don't validate my point. Please don't make me regret what I wanted to do, don't make me regret wanting to betray Eiphraem for you..."
  71.
  72. That was where she could not hold back the sorrow she felt anymore. Tears began streaming down her face as she cried uncontrollably. As much as she wanted the emotional strength not to show things, she couldn't help it. Joanne wouldn't tell him, though, not the location. Maybe she would tell him the plan Eiphraem had made for him, but she wouldn't jeopardize their child because she knew how it would end.
  73.
  74. "Please, Katzan..." She managed to speak after a few moments. This was so painful, so horribly painful. Could she actually manage to recover if he decided to hurt her physically? Maybe not. This was the worst situation she had to deal with so far, far worse than the raid. She may have still had nightmares of that attempt on Kas'chei, but she had become selfish enough, and she knew it.
  75.
  76. Joanne knew she was selfish for even considering not making the potion that would make Katzan forget and hopefully cure him of his curse. She knew she was selfish for hiding the child from everyone, especially Eiphraem and Katzan, but it was all for the reason of protecting what she had with Katzan.
  77.
  78. Something she was potentially going to lose in this moment.
  79. (Joanne Stiller)
  80. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  81.
  82. [01:24] The Xizoh did not turn towards her. Where otherwise she would be offered some comfort, and something that only stated that he was above her and she should feel herself better around him. But now? His aura was filled with the wrong kind of pride. Not the reassuring, where he saw himself as a savior, but the kind that only showed that he was indeed the son of Ezton Xizoh. That he was indeed the self-proclaimed Strigoi, something inhuman and beyond.
  83.
  84. He heard her sobs, disguised within the words. Nails dug into his skin, droplets of blood still appearing as the final strands of flesh were repaired back in place, the bone now hidden underneath.
  85.
  86. Katzan could probably feel her pain, were he not so full of things to think about. But yet, there was one good thing about all this -- There was still no sign of his flames, no sign of the greyish mass that always moved around him, even if his aura shone with pride.
  87.
  88. He shook his head from side to side. "Bring... OUR child. To me." It was more than anything, a demand. His voice made clear that it was one, and perhaps she should understand that he wasn't kidding. That what he said was extremely serious, and he would accept no compromises.
  89.
  90. "I want to at least have the chance to see her once before I die." He turned towards Joanne for a single instant, the scowl still present on his face. Where she would probably expect him to break his heart and go on and rescue her, he simply made a grim affirmation. "We all know I run the risk of doing that every day, and if you don't want your kid to rise up to become a perfect being like me, at least let her meet her father."
  91.
  92. "Unlike me." And like that, a sway of his cape came as he turned around, simply aiming to leave there after that last murmur. Perhaps this was said with a tone of the inner child that still resided within him, buried deep within his pride to protect his very personality. But...
  93.
  94. He was more than likely saying that if she didn't want her kid to be as great as he was, she shouldn't offer her the same hardships he was offered.
  95. (Katzan Xizoh)
  96. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  97.
  98. [01:26] Katzan's arm punches through the door, a singular strike that destroys it. The broken bones are quickly regenerated, and whatever remains is quickly burned away by the Xizoh's greyish flames, erupting for a single moment before they are put to rest again, hidden.
  99. (Katzan Xizoh)
