  8. Job Description
  9. We are looking for an exceptional intermediate level technical support analyst/generalist. As a member of the CanDeal support team, you will assist in supporting all aspects of the infrastructure and ensure the highest level of service to all participants. You will also provide second line support for any technical issues escalated from the Customer Service Desk.
  10. Primary Duties
  11. • Support in house desktop hardware
  12. • Ensure desktop O/S, virus and applications are kept up to date
  13. • Patch management of servers
  14. • Support for Exchange Server
  15. • Support Symantec Endpoint Protection SEP 12.1.5 or above
  16. • Trouble shoot and resolve desktop or network related issues
  17. • Create a standard secure desktop/server image (Linux – REHAL, CentOS, Debian, Windows)
  18. • Provide second level support to help desk for client related connectivity/application issues
  19. • Support for TIBCO
  20. • Assist in testing new applications and releases surrounding trade system
  21. • Support various database types – MySQL, MSSQL, etc.
  22. • Support sftp/ftps services for incoming data files
  23. • Support remote access capabilities for staff
  24. • Support MS Office
  25. • Assist in trouble shooting network issues with network support team
  26. • Support for staff Blackberrys, Androids and iPhones – bring your own device (BYOD)
  27. • Support numerous Bourne shell scripts
  28. • Support VB scripts
  29. • Support Cisco VPN
  30. • Knowledge of VLANs and Cisco Switches
  31. • Knowledge of VMWare Host and Guest setup and config
  32. • Support VoIP services
  33. • Configuring and installing new desktop and server systems
  34. • Create/update operational documentation as required
  35. • Must be available for after hours support typically through remote access

  37. Qualifications
  38. Required Skills
  39. • Demonstrated experience with MS Windows XP/7, Windows Server 2003/2008 O/S
  40. • Demonstrated experience with Linux – REHL, Debian and CentOS
  41. • Demonstrated experience with MS Remote Access Server
  42. • Demonstrated experience with Cisco VPN
  43. • Proficient with MS Office 2010
  44. • Demonstrated experience with MS Exchange Server 2003/2007/2010
  45. • Demonstrated experience with networks and network equipment (switches/routers)
  46. • Demonstrated experience in creating Bourne shell scripts
  47. • Demonstrated experience in creating VB scripts
  48. • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
  49. • Superb analytical skills: Ability to think “outside-the-box” to resolve problems
