omega archer 1

i can’t sleep yet so i thought i would write a little about the place shinji works in the omega archer au. ✨

it’s a small but well known omega cabaret club in the city — people and groups can enter the parlor and receive bottle service and entertaining conversation. a lot of the clientele are salarymen looking to impress their colleagues or prospective business partners and others are just people who want to talk to someone.

shinji has been working there as a manager for a few years and has a really good relationship with most of the hosts even if he’s known for being serious and strict with guests. being an alpha but looking more like an omega gives him the advantage of being more likely to see when one of his employees is being mistreated. once the client realizes shinji is both in charge And an alpha it’s usually easy for the situation to de-escalate itself. in the event that it doesn’t, shinji has a bit of a reputation for being scrappy.

a lot of the hosts confide in him and contact him if they need help, since the club is part of the group of businesses that give outreach to omegas in need. having always been small and often mistaken for an omega himself, shinji understands better than other alphas what they go through. he’s snappy and sometimes overly serious, but it’s usually out of concern. he’s not really a relaxed person... he smokes, eats poorly, works late nights and obsessively makes sure that everyone gets home safely. being taken seriously as an alpha means everyone stays safe, so people getting to see a softer side of him is (mostly) sacrificed.

shinji and rin are childhood acquaintances who only stopped competing with one another and became friends as adults. he’s really supportive of her business with luvia and the club often buys from their shop for special events. rin often calls shinji over to give him leftover meals because she knows he doesn’t cook and shinji will usually pay her back by bringing coffee or pastries by the following day.

i def think about shinji stepping in with coffee and donuts one morning and immediately noticing a new scent in the room and seeing archer working in the shop before they open — he’s quick to say hi and offer a coffee, even if his voice sounds a little disaffected/flat. it’s a reflex upon meeting new people. especially new people who... are as tall as archer...

he’s never seen such a big omega before ;;
oh god he’s really pretty he smells good ;;;

i thought it would be cute if he jokingly complimented the food from the day before and asks which restaurant it came from because it’s better than anything rin or luvia could cook and it turns out that’s because it was archer who made it. they get introduced that way and shinji. has a moment. he’s like, exceptionally chill around omegas because of work but he’s definitely... thinking about him. luvia and rin ask shinji to stop by and check on archer over the weekend while they take a short business trip and when he comes by to pick up a set of keys the day before he sees archer modeling!! he’s really awestruck to the point that he doesn’t realize he’s growling because some salaryman is very closely admiring some detail on the piece archer is wearing. there’s a quick apology and shinji excusing himself to the back office for a moment, but he assures rin that he’s totally ok to check on archer over the weekend!

he brings by apology coffee the next day in case he disrupted the atmosphere too much for archer while he was working the day before... the shop is closed on the weekends but archer is still puttering around cleaning things and staying busy aaaand yeah. they’re really cute and now they live together !!!!!! all things considered they clicked together so instantly that their courting went really smoothly. rin and luvia were probably not surprised at all.
