  1. The tar-black sky looks as threating as it did an hour ago. Pellets of water begin to lightly fall from the sky, I should try and get to some shelter while I can. I attempt to get up and move my body from off the ground but I don’t seem to be able to do so. Why can’t I move my body? That questions ponders through my mind before coming to a conclusion, oh yeah…
  2.
  3. “I’m dying.”
  4.
  5. I feel bad that I can say that so casually without having any qualms about it but life never went my way to begin with. The rain starts pouring down heavily with sounds of thunder crashing through the skies, my body’s soaked head to toe and I can’t do anything about it. I chuckle a bit the situation I’m in, how did I end up here?
  6.
  7. I muster enough strength to turn my head to get a feeling of my surroundings. Nothing. Flowers slumped over from the heavy rain, mountain tops shrouded by the endless darkness, animals scurrying to find shelter, I hope they can get out of this mess. I turn my face back up to the sky as my breathing starts getting lighter. I don’t want to die but I guess life just wasn’t for me. I close my eyes as I await the inevitable to take over when suddenly the rain stops hitting my face and upper torso.
  8.
  9. “Hey, hey, hey! You still alive?”
  10.
  11. A soft voice calls out to me. I open one of my eyes and see a bronze skinned woman with a weird patterned umbrella standing over me. She smiles at me as if she’s my friend but this is my first time ever seeing her.
  12.
  13. “You seem to be in a rough situation, huh?”
  14.
  15. She questions me but I can’t find the will to answer her question. My body is growing cold and I can no longer feel the rain hitting my lower body even though only my upper half is within the umbrella’s cover. My eye begins to close, it’s only a matter of time now.
  16.
  17. The girl snaps her fingers at me, “Wake up! I’m about to give you the offer of a lifetime!”
  18.
  19. Annoying. Just let me die already.
  20.
  21. “How would you like to be im-mor-tal?” she asks me in a slight macabre tone. “All you have to do is form a contract with me, what do you say?”
  22.
  23. Immortal? Contract? A slight glimmer of hope rushed through my body when she asked. It’s pathetic how I was so accepting of death just a few seconds ago and now I’m ready to jump at the first opportunity to avoid dying. I disgust myself. I open both of my eyes and see a malevolent smile on her face.
  24.
  25. This is probably all just a dream. I chuckle to myself and with the last of my strength I speak.
  26.
  27. “Yeah,” I say weakly, “Make me immortal.” My eyes close as I can feel my breath becoming faint I hear one last thing before losing consciousness.
  28.
  29. “Contractus Absoluta”
