“I don’t really follow current events,” said Robin.

“Whatever she is,” said Bowser. “I was at her castle and I got my ass kicked and I landed in the woods over here.”

“What do you mean you got your ass kicked,” asked Robin. “Like, how does one thing lead to the other here?”

“You know, like, bing bang boom. Got kicked in my ass, went straight up, spent some time in the clouds reflecting on how I got here. Crash. Ow. You know.”

Mac and the rest of the group all looked at Bowser, who drank his mead in silence.

“Huh?” He placed his mug down and looked around. “What? Did I say something?”

“You got sent flying all the way here,” said Leaf. “From Peach’s castle?”

“Yeah.”

“And you survived?”

“I mean, it really hurt.”

“You’re made of some tough shit,” said Samus. “Now I’m really sad I didn’t kill you.”
