  1. Dear journal,
  2.
  3. As the sun rose over the city, I sat at my desk scrolling through social media on my computer. I couldn't help but think about quantum mechanics and the idea of creating new universes through quantum computing.
  4.
  5. Excitement bubbled inside me as I finished running a test on the code I had written. It promised to create a new universe, and I couldn't wait to try it out. The code, written in JavaScript, defined a Circuit class with methods to apply quantum gates and measure qubits, and a function to prompt the user for input and create a new universe.
  6.
  7. Without hesitation, I copied the code into a new file and did a last error check. The Circuit class consists of a constructor that sets the number of qubits and initializes the state to a tensor product of |0⟩ states with one |1⟩ at the first position.
  8.
  9. My heart raced as I read through the hadamard method, which applies the Hadamard gate to the target qubit, creating a superposition of |0⟩ and |1⟩. The measureAll method then collapses the superposition and outputs either |0⟩ or |1⟩ with probabilities corresponding to the coefficients of the state vector.
  10.
  11. As I read further, I looked over my masterpiece, a function to turn the key and open the doorway to the new universe. I couldn't contain my excitement at the thought of creating my own universe.
  12.
  13. Without hesitation, I ran the code in my terminal, answering the prompts eagerly. As the final question appeared on the screen, my heart raced with excitement. I typed "y" and hit enter.
  14.
  15. Moments later, the computer beeped, signaling that the key had successfully turned. I was then prompted to enter y or n to swap to the new universe. I pressed y. Suddenly, the room began to shake violently. My computer screen flickered, emitting a bright flash of light. The sounds of machinery and strange, foreign noises filled the room.
  16.
  17. Trembling in fear, I tried to back away from the computer, but the shaking was too intense, and I fell to the ground. My hand reached out to grab the computer, which was now glowing with a bright, otherworldly shine.
  18.
  19. In that moment, I saw a glimpse of the new universe on my computer screen. It was a sight unlike anything I had ever seen before. The colors were brighter, and the landscapes were breathtaking.
  20.
  21. But before I could touch the screen, the shaking stopped, and everything went quiet. The computer screen went back to normal, and the room was still, with no sound or movement. Displayed on the screen was the output of the parameters of the new and current universe, and below it printed "Universe Swap Successful."
  22.
  23. Slowly, I stood up, looking around the room in confusion. Had I really opened a doorway to a new universe, or was it just my imagination?
  24.
  25. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. My heart skipped a beat as I cautiously walked towards it. As I opened the door, a stranger appeared before me.
  26.
  27. The stranger was tall and had a commanding presence. They wore strange clothing, which I had never seen before. The stranger introduced themselves as a native of the new universe and a representative of the new authority.
  28.
  29. They explained that I had opened the doorway to their world and that they were honored to welcome me to the new universe. They handed me a brochure, detailing the new universe's customs, laws, and regulations.
  30.
  31. Over the next few months, I explored the new universe, marveling at its wonders and learning about its customs and traditions. I made new friends and even started a new job, working with the quantum computing team to uncover the secrets of the universe.
  32.
  33. However, I soon realized the gravity of the situation I had put myself in. I had opened a doorway to a new universe without knowing the consequences. What if there were inhabitants in the new universe who didn't want visitors? What if my actions had caused harm to the new universe?
  34.
  35. Filled with regret, I decided to return to my own universe. With a heavy heart, I said my goodbyes and prepared myself to go back to my own world.
  36.
  37. As a final gesture, I ran the code one more time, only to swap back to the original universe. Once I was sure I was back in my own world, I buried the code deep in my computer, hoping that it would never be discovered. I knew that I must never open that door again.
  38.
  39. Ever since that day, I have been haunted by the memory of the new universe. I wonder about the lives I impacted and the possible ramifications of my actions. I often think about the code and the power it held.
  40.
  41. Despite the temptation, I know that the code should never be used again. I still have the code, fearing that in the hands of the wrong person, it could be disastrous. I have never shared the code with anyone and have kept it hidden, buried deep in my computer files.
  42.
  43. If only I could go back in time and undo my actions. The experience taught me a valuable lesson about the consequences of my choices.
  44.
  45. I close my eyes, wishing I could forget the memory of the new universe. I know that it will always be a part of me, a reminder of the power of quantum computing and the importance of using it responsibly.
  46.
  47. Sincerely,
  48. Franki
  49.
  50. WARNING: If anyone should ever find this story or the code.. The code used in this retelling of events is DANGEROUS and should not be attempted. Quantum computing is a powerful tool that should only be used responsibly, with the guidance of trained professionals. Any attempt to MODIFY OR USE the code or create a doorway to another universe could have disastrous consequences. I strongly discourage any attempts to recreate the code. There is no way of knowing that the universe you stumble into will have the code or a computer to swap back. Do Not Disregard This Warning.
