background: his mother died before his eyes. they were in a car, yubin squirming in his seat to the beat of a radio song as his mother was driving him back home from school. in a blink of an eye they had collapsed with another car. just before he passed out, he could remember reaching out for his mother's hand and getting chills from how cold it was.
his father was never known as a cheerful and caring person, but after yubin mother's burial his behavior got even worse. he would drink a lot, being absent from home during the day and coming back late at night to blame it all on yubin. yubin would try to defend himself with words, but as soon as he'd start stuttering he'd get a slap.
he was often bullied in school for his rather jumpy behavior, being called a freak and a retard.

personality: he often isolates himself socially, enjoying the safe feeling of his apartment. has a poor memory, forgets small things very easily and sometimes even the big things like his home address or the name of his father. is usually disoriented and confused most of the time. has visual images of the traumatic events from his childhood, which can often result in mood swings and even anger outbursts or panic attacks. is extremely alerted, thinks there's danger behind every corner. unable to maintain healthy relationships with people. is easily startled. scared of being close with a person, when someone tries that he would do anything to get out of the situation. he's a very silent speaker, tending to speak as little as possible and avoid any possible contact with someone. easily bursts into tears, triggered by smallest of things like a stray dog or death of a drama character.

how did you meet: yubin couldn't take it anymore. the rotten smell bothered him, making him disgusted and he couldn't cover it up with not even ten scented candles and air fresheners. he decided to storm off to the apartment the smell was coming from and he knocked furiously without hesitation. a familiar face he had seen around the complex opened the door.
"s-s-stop reviving that c-cat!" yubin shouted, foot stomping and hands following the movement. he was incredibly angry.
the guy stared at him. "why not?"
"are you t-t-that stupid? it d-doesn't even w-want to l-live! you're making it s-sad..." his eyes got glossy, tears evident in the corners of his eyes, and all yoongi could do was panic at the boy's sudden outburst of tears.

how you act around him: at first not much different from other people. he's cautious, allowing the conversations to minimum. later on he becomes childish like around kids in the orphanage. he talks a lot about his favorite shows and food, or how sad it makes him to see someone suffer.

how he acts around you: yoongi could be compared to a stone if you asked people from the complex. but yubin would disagree, because around him yoongi would actually smile and laugh a lot, and treat the other boy like a bit of water on his palm. he was very caring and gentle, liking to hear about the boy's thoughts and feelings for hours and to never get bored. he felt a need to protect him.

interactions:
• begging: yubin would avoid yoongi in the hallways at all costs. but often it was impossible so whenever yoongi would speak to him, he would keep his gaze away and fiddle with his fingers, often lying about how he has important things to do before storming off.

• middle: yoongi was back at it again with the cat. but this time as yubin roared at his front door, he invited the boy in for a drink. declining the offer because of the hideous smell, yoongi managed to persuade him into drinking tea in yubin's apartment.

• end: they were basically inseparable. be it at yubin's or yoongi's place, they would hang out everyday, often even going out if yoongi ever managed to make the other.

status: platonic love (basically they have feelings each other, but it's all just that exactly; feelings. they are like best friends who are secretly in love with each other. they express their feelings through spending time together doing random and fun stuff, without needs to show it sexually. of course there are a few pecks on the lips here and there.)

• "g-get of o-of my counter m-min yoongi!" yubin roared and yoongi smiled cheekily, swinging his legs. he loved teasing the younger. "okay. then-" he jumped off, picking up the lightweighted boy and putting him on the counter. "-you'll have to sit here instead of me." yubin squirmed, panicking about having his ways out blocked by yoongi. "l-let go." "i will if i can give you a peck."
"w-what?"
"let me give you a peck and you're free to go." yubin felt like screaming in annoyance, but he did want to get out of there.
"o-okay. but one p-peck and m-make it quick!" he offered his cheek, shutting his eyes tightly. yoongi grinned, his lips mischievously finding their way to yubin's own pair. he knew he was probably going to die, but it was worth it.

• yoongi was fighting back his own tears as his fingers were running through the boy's silk hair. yubin was sobbing into his shirt as they were peacefully layed on the boy's bed. it has been hours, and yoongi was getting worried about the boy's loud and continuous sobs and cries.
"i'm s-s-sorry. i'm s-o s-sorry." he was whimpering on repeat. and yoongi would mumble a silent "it wasn't your fault" as he pulled the boy closer into his chest.

• "t-thank you." yubin chirped, arms tightly wrapped around yoongi's as they walked the streets without a certain destination. just enjoying each other's company.
"for what?"
"walking w-with me. n-no one has really d-done that in a long time."
