You can't "change the culture" without starting by removing the symbols that reflect and entrench the cultural mores. And I don't want to hear any more BS about the Civil War being about states rights. They were about states rights to own human beings, and if you think otherwise I encourage you to read the actual acts of secession themselves of say Missouri or Georgia. They are crystal clear.
