  1. A walk to the prairies was to be expected- most of Lich's attention lately was falling on more practical uses, such as those in battle, rather than tinkering around with Undead... and while having vast armies was certainly useful, there's something else he must be certain about - his own defences, and his ability to fight back against certain threats that he would no doubt encounter in his unliving.
  2.
  3. Time and time again.
  4.
  5. "The reason I called you here is because I believe you're well suited for simulation of... as much harm as possible to my body, and the corresponding attempts it would make to defend itself."
  6.
  7. "You see... it's no secret that many would try to kill me, and it's no secret that I've been somewhat... falling behind when it comes to practical arts of battle. Surely, I can still put up a fight against most, but I don't feel like it's enough. In fact, not even close."
  8.
  9. Even while he spoke of it, the lightning seemed to surge- however, it was not the Storm that he summoned, but something that fused with his body; crackling whips of electricity, intending to put a pressure on his body, perhaps in quite a negative way. But in return, they served as a layer of defense, and the blue fires in his eyes flickered, temporarily disappearing - if only to appear again at much higher intensity.
  10.
  11. "So what I'm asking is..."
  12.
  13. "Go wild. Swing your sword at me as if I was your enemy. Don't hold back. I wanna see how much this physical body will be able to take until it gives up - or perhaps, I will even outlast you."
  14. (Arthur Rowan)
  15.
  16. Alastor followed around. As they moved, all soldiers saluted to them; Undead or alive, they all seemed to hold both figures in utmost respect. Nevertheless, soon enough they were far too gone from the borders that most soldiers just didn't keep up with the pace; Perhaps because it was healthier for them, or because not leaving would allow them to remain protecting the city.
  17.
  18. Nevertheless, soon enough, he stopped to hear every single word that Arthur had to spare him. At the offering of doing as much harm as possible to his body, Alastor couldn't help but nod and smirk some. After all, it was what he was reputable for, wasn't it?
  19.
  20. "It is also exceptional practice for me as well, Arthur." The Oscuri replied, purple irises staring at the crackling energy that rose from the Lich's skin.
  21.
  22. Arcanium blade unsheathed, it hit the ground soon enough. Leaving an unfettered mark of Rieka and Lightning magic on the ground, it seemed that Alastor was abandoning his ways of holy magic. Or he simply had his own holy magic swapped for some holier art of Azrael, his own blessing.
  23.
  24. Nevertheless, at the final request, the Rieka expanded outwardly. It coated the blade, and soon enough, his entire body. The circuitry seemed to rush with quickly alternating energy inside of it, and then, the Vishkar gave out a few words of warning.
  25.
  26. "I will spare no effort." Alastor finished off, before with a dash, he charged towards the Rowan.
  27. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  28.
  29. The crackling energy soared, and with each passing moment it was gathering, the cage of lightning was seemingly created right above the body of the Rowan- one would imagine that it should usually cover the skin, but instead, it covers Arthur's bones. It would seem that he had long become a skeleton... and while he's hidden beneath the clothes, cloaks and mask, it is still apparent on how it lays on his body.
  30.
  31. There's no standing against would-be skin, as it droops down upon the bare bones.
  32.
  33. Needless to say, satisfied with the answer, the crackling energy was fused with his eyes- the blue fires were struggling against the blue lightning, intertwined and jointed together. It is a technique he was still in practice of, and while most of it was already covered, there is still a degree of certainty he must have before he truly grasps it.
  34.
  35. "Very well. Do so."
  36.
  37. A shock surged, stretching out to the surroundings, and the stature of the Rowan was seemingly... glowing? Whatever it is he's done, it acted as protecting shield, seeking to intercept anything that would come at him. The staff was grasped and drawn.
  38.
  39. And the battle began.
  40. (Arthur Rowan)

  83.
  84. {RP BATTLE} (COUNTDOWN: Go!)
  85.
  86. As expected of Eternal, he would have Lich cleaved if it wasn't for the defences he managed to put up. With every passing moment, there was a feeling as if the Oscuri could reach with his blade close enough to sever his bones, his spine and his limbs from where they stood... if it wasn't for the surprising swiftness that Arthur moved with, and the defensive maneuvers accomplished by the crackling lightning positioned around his body, perhaps he would even be successful. But...
  87.
  88. That wasn't meant to be with how much pressure Arthur was capable of exerting. With each passing moment, the bolts of lightning, the shards of ice and the arrows of his Undead servants were flying towards Alastor, impending the Oscuri from truly closing the gap against the Lich. Each attempt to cut him down was met with resounding crackle of thunder that struck out against Alastor, halting any attempts with terrifying quickness.
  89.
  90. Was it the defences he spoke of? Most likely.
  91.
  92. Eerily silent throughout the entire battle, the blue fires where his eyes were supposed to be had been intensely focused on the Oscuri. A single slip up, and even though the final showdown had shown to Arthur that Alastor possessed quite powerful mettle behind his demeanor… it was all in vain, in the end.
  93.
  94. A strike after strike, a blast after blast, an exchange of blows for the ages, but no matter how much he tried, the Lich would only stumble back- hurt, but preserved- and the crackling electricity still protecting him. Alastor, however? The shock may have been too much, and the muscle that once obeyed his every movement, suddenly, refused to do so anymore.
  95.
  96. For all intents and purposes, he's fallen.
  97.
  98. "Hrm…" It took a moment for the Lich to utter a grumble from the pain he experienced. It was odd to still feel anything, but he could certainly blame the Energy attack directed against his circuits, and yet...
  99.
  100. "Almost. Well done."
  101. (Arthur Rowan)
  102.
  103. Alastor nearly succeeded. His Rieka glimmered stronger as the fight went on, the energy moving forth at each second. It didn't matter if he wasn't able to close the gap; Things were always on the run for him, and he needed the practice against someone who could actually stop him from closing the gap for a change.
  104.
  105. Contrasting with Arthur's quietness and silence, at each strike Alastor would let out a groan of sorts. Obviously, he wasn't going entirely all out; But he was going as much as he could, and even if each movement was dodged with agility, it wasn't long until the Oscuri would start catching up.
  106.
  107. But it wasn't enough. His Rieka continued to charge forth, overpowering to the point where it erupted from the very circuitry that it came from. Each new strike that came forth, was obviously intended to hit harder than the last one.
  108.
  109. The last shock sends him down on the ground, Arcanium blade impaling upon the ground, used to hold him from falling face-first against the grass. Nevertheless, he was paralyzed; For too long for him to consider even continuing the fight.
  110.
  111. At this moment, his circuitry finally felt its own overloading. A blast was unleashed in the ground, seemingly charged up for quite a while against the blade, and now finally let go. His energy died down, gleaming lower.
  112.
  113. Yet, the final words cause the Vishkar's purple irises to stare up against Arthur. "Almost isn't good enough." He spoke.
  114. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  115.
  116. The protection techniques weren't always that bad, as most magi on Agartha believed them to be. What could be a better offense than a very oppressive defense? An assault in which you're not exposed to enemy's harm, and in which you still retain the offensive capabilities of destructive magic. From how Arthur fought, it's very easy to figure out that this is the way of fighting he adapted - a very oppressive defense.
  117.
  118. Even now, the remnants of the lightning that crackled and surged through his body remained as a reminder of their battle that ended just now. The senses, the feeling of his own body was coming back to him... not in a conventional sense, of course, for he no longer possessed the standard body that most were used to. Yet still, this magic summoned some sort of numbness in him... the numbness that he could never explain till the end.
  119.
  120. "I'm sure next time you could get me."
  121.
  122. Slowly, the energy of this magic was receding. The Undead bodyguards that were always there to assist Arthur, no matter what fight it was, lowered their weapons. It's been clear that the fighting is over, and as such, he exclaims.
  123.
  124. "It's appreciated."
  125.
  126. "Now, to see how this technique will turn out."
  127. (Arthur Rowan)
