Text markers for text-based roleplay

  1. Two tildes (~) around text indicate an inner thought or telepathic message.
  2. Two square brackets ({ }) around text indicate that it is in another language and has been translated for the convenience of the player. Do note that this does not mean your character understands, unless they also speak the language.
  3. Two curly brakcets ({ }) around text indicate a text message on a text or written format (like a piece of paper)
  4. Two Less Than/Greater Than signs (< >) indicates speech through radios or magical means.
  5. Two asterisks around text (*) or BOLD text generally means a sound effect.
  6. Two slashes (/) around a word means /emphasis/ on that word.
  7.  
  8. Use typical writing rules for roleplay, so use quotation marks ("") when speaking, and so on.
