  1. Toon Task 01: The Grand Toontorial

  4. Toon Task 01: The Grand Toontorial
  5. Reward: 50 jellybeans
  6. Task Giver: Tutorial Tom
  7.
  8. Task Giver: “Hey there, (toon)! Welcome to Toon Island! Glad to hear you made the trip! Since you are a bit uh… new here, I have to show you around! Let’s begin your lessons; to start I’ll have to upgrade you with the Movement Arrows Mark IV. Feel free to use them to move around; it’s the easiest way to move around town! Now, try and use the arrow keys. () Very good, you must be an expert! Now the basics… well, there are these uh… things! Yes, things called cogs. They have four “factions”, one might say. There are the Lawbots who keep order around the cogs, the Sellbots who make money chugging out cog parts from their factories, the Cashbots who monitor the cash flow in their corporation, and the Bossbots who keep them all in line! They pretty much like to terrorize toons with their business ways, making us sad and taking all of our gags! Luckily, we have fully installed a laff-o-meter for all toons, kind of like a health meter! It keeps us healthy and fit for cog fights, and makes it harder for them to make us go sad. We have also devised new weapons against them that are harmless to toons, called gags. These are the bane of cogs and repel them with ease. Anyway, you must be wondering what happened back at Toontown. Well… it all started when… (Maybe a Cutscene here?) We deployed the Toon Resistance back on Toontown but… they failed to protect the town and got caught, so we fled here to keep the rest of the toons safe… but to our dismay, the cogs followed us again! This is our final stand to send the cogs back to where they belong and protect our new home! Wait… I see something back there… is it? Wait… it’s a cog! Take these gags and run that robot out of town!”
  9.
  10. 1. Defeat The Flunky | Guide: (Click on your gags to use them! Watch the cogs change their health meter for different types of attacks. The level of them will change the amount of health they have. Higher levelled cogs have more health, while lower levelled cogs have less health. Gags have levels too, and can balance the fight against the cogs in a flash! If you ever run out of gags, ride the trolley and head to Goofy’s Gag Shop with jellybeans to purchase more in Toon Island Central.)
  11.
  12.
  13. 2. Speak With Tutorial Tom:
  14.
  15. “Thanks for the help, I really needed it! You seem like you get the basics of this. Head over to Toon Island Central and go see if Toon HQ needs help. I fear that cog outside was only just the beginning.”

  27. Toon Task 02: Learning The Ropes
  28. Reward: 1 laff point + 55 jellybeans (15 -> 16)
  29. Task Giver: HQ Officer
  30.
  31. Quest Giver: “So, I hear you got Tutorial Tom to give you the rundown of things, eh (toon)? That is great and all but… the HQ isn’t doing so well out here, us being all alone and such. Don’t look at me like that! We have no one to help, and we’re still waiting for any sign of the Resistance Rangers. However, we lost our HQ Walkie Talkie to a pesky Cog that came in while we were away, and we can’t remote backup our data anymore, since we lost the old HQ. I need you to find it; it's the only way we can get more help. Good luck out there, (Toon) you’re going to need it! Oh, I almost forgot. Here, take these! These gags will help you defeat those Cogs.”
  32.
  33.
  34. 1. Recover a HQ Walkie Talkie from the Cogs
  35. 2. Speak with HQ Officer:
  36.
  37. “You got the walkie talkie? Wow, I am very thankful, (toon). I’ll be able to call in backup from all the districts now, thanks to you. You should be able to teleport to different districts from now on. Oh, and one more thing, folks around here don’t get much help, so come see more of us HQ Officers when you can. It’ll be a big help! While you were gone, we set you up with a house and a catalog phone. Open your shticker book, check out the map section and click “go home” to throw down a go-home portal. The map section shows areas you have been at. In time you will discover more places and they’ll appear on your map. Oh, I almost forgot, usually tasks have rewards, for example jellybeans are usually given for some tasks. You should be able to check your catalog to buy things with your jellybeans. Actually, go check out the catalog right now and come find me when your done.”
  38.
  39. 3. Use the catalog in your house from your shticker book.
  40. 4. Speak with HQ Officer:
  41.
  42. “Oh, you used the catalog (toon)? Good to hear! There is a lot more to the shticker book then you realize. I need you to speak with Librarian Liz on Beachball Boulevard. Her place is called Toon Island Library. She should be able to clear up some things, she is the author of the book after all!”

  62. Toon Task 03: Turning Over A New Leaf...let
  63. Reward: 60 jellybeans
  64. Task Giver: HQ Officer
  65.
  66. Task Giver: “Hello, (toon). Thanks for coming! Before we can set you up with any more tasks we need to make sure you’ve been fully trained with your shticker book - health and safety, of course. Let’s see… ah, we can set you up with Librarian Liz for now. She should be able to cover most of the book, she is the creator of the book, after all!”
  67.
  68. 1. Speak to Librarian Liz at The Toon Island Library on Pineapple Plaza
  69.
  70. “You are new here, yes? Oh I didn’t realize, sorry. Hmm.. no one is here so we should be fine to talk. Oh yes, the book! I guess I can set you up with some lessons. Each page has different functions. Click your shticker book to open it. (Open shticker book) This is the options page and can be used to enter rather strange and unique codes as well as accessing toon function options. Default is what I prefer but, you do you. (Click next page) Next is the cogs page or cog gallery. Each cog you attack will be listed here. Attack and destroy a certain amount of every cog and you should be able to obtain a cog tracker. I believe the cog tracker was used to track cog buildings of some sort. Anyway onto the next section of the book. (Click next page) We have a map section I am sure you are aware of. It’s used to navigate through toontown and to discover new things, of course! Teleportation can be unlocked to travel through each area or playground you find. (Click next page) And, next, the gags page is the most important part! You can view if you are low on gags or how much you have here, as well as the ability to view how many gag points you need until you can unlock new gags. Wait… Tutorial Tom never told you? Ah, yes. New gags can be unlocked through fighting enough cogs and earning gag points. Gag tracks can be earned, but only a certain amount can be gained from each playground. (Click next page) Next, onto the District Section, here you are able to travel through all district areas. If one gets filled up, travel to another or find friends in other districts. Districts act as replicated areas of each playground for all toons to visit, so this place never gets over-crowded. (Click next page) Now your toontask section. Here you can view every task you have and the goal of the task as well as the reward! Eventually you’ll be able to carry four tasks at a time or obtain tasks from HQ/Shopkeepers. Gag track training as said before is earned through tasks from each playground, simply finding which track you want is the hard part you’ll learn more about that though. (Close shticker book) There are other sections but, for now you don’t have them unlocked. Unfortunately, I am limited to explaining only the knowledge I know about certain sections. For now take this book and use it well. I’m sure you’ll need it against cogs. You’ll also need this laff-o-meter. I am sure Tutorial Tom forgot all about that! Here for now you have 16 laff points and you can earn more from tasks! Beware though, if you don’t get laff points when you have the opportunity to, you can be stuck at 16 forever! Head back to the HQ Officers. I am sure they’ll need you back now, bye!”

  83. Toon Task 04: Friendly Escapades
  84. Reward: 1 Laff Point + 65 jellybeans (16 -> 17)
  85. Task Giver: HQ Officer
  86.
  87. Task Giver: “Liz gave you the whole run down? Good, (toon)! However, we have gotten reports of several cogs invading this area. If we don’t have toons run them out, they’ll run us out first! We need you to find a friend to offer assistance to the cause. Friends can be found anywhere in toon island. Here is a friend-maker button. Simply click on the button, then click add a friend, then click on their name and it’ll ask them to be your friend. It works both ways, and you can accept requests for people wanting to be friends. You can only have one hundred friends at maximum, though, so choose friends wisely! What are you waiting for? Go make a friend!”
  88.
  89.
  90. 1. Make a friend using the friend button
  91. 2. Speak to HQ Officer:
  92.
  93. “Good to hear that you made a friend. I think you’ll need them for the cogs in the area. Before any more cogs start invading I need you to destroy some cogs. Head to the gag shop to buy more gags, it seems you are running low on them. To buy gags, head to the trolley and play some games. Games reward you with jellybeans, but always use them on gags first! Another tip to getting jellybeans is by fishing. After obtaining one jellybean, you can use it to fish, earn a laff point, or even multiply your jellybeans! Also, remember that, while you may have started with ten gags, the Toon HQ can’t keep supplying you with more. Some things you need to pay for yourself!”
  94.
  95. 3. Ride the trolley
  96. 4. Buy gags at the Gag Shop
  97. 5. Destroy 3 Cogs in Toon Island Central
  98. 6. Report back to HQ Officer:
  99.
  100. “You defeated the invading cogs, great! Let’s look at the list… shticker book, tick! Catalog… tick again! Gag training, tick! Made friends, another tick! Finally, the trolley. Final tick! Good work toon, you’ll make a great HQ Officer yet. Come and talk to me again when you are ready to start your next task.”

  122. Reward: Training for gag track of choice
  123. Task Giver: HQ Officer
  124.
  125. Task Giver: “Welcome back, toon. Before we can set you free, you have one last task to do. You will need to go see Mulzak. He is our resident wizard, though these days he mainly focuses on producing crackers for toontown. Still delicious, though! Anyway, why don’t you go and head over to him”
  126.
  127. Speak to “Mulzak” at Mulzak’s Quackers on Sandcastle Street
  128.
  129. “Oh boy am I glad you’re here! I’m supposed to let you pick your new gag track, but um… well, let me give you your options… you can pick Toon-Up or Sound gags. I mean, they’re both great options. Toon-Up will let you, um... heal your fellow toons in battle… while Sound will damage all the cogs that are in the battle, you know? Um... I need you to retrieve something for me first, though. Use this time to decide which gag tack you’re gonna choose! Those darn Lawbots stole my magic cracker recipe. Will you go get it back for me? Oh man, oh man, I can’t lose that recipe...
  130.
  131.
  132. 2. Retrieve the recipe from the Lawbots.
  133. 3. Return to “Mulzak” at Mulzak’s Quackers on Sandcastle Street
  134.
  135. “Oh thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I would have my feathers if I lost these! You’re a feather saver, (toon)! How can I ever repay you? Um, what was that? Oh yes! You’re supposed to choose a new gag track! I um... I guess I forgot. I’ve been a… been a terrible wreck since those cogs came in. I’ve never been that good around cogs, you know? They’re incredibly creepy looking and they are always going on about their business plans- oh gosh, I’m rambling again. Anyway, why don’t you choose your gag track? Toon-Up or Sound?
  136.
  137. 4. The player now chooses between Toon-Up or Sound.
  138.
  139. “Interesting choice, I guess. Have fun.”
