  1. [10:22:16] Shotgun2010: Hi, I was wondering if the rule preventing posting DA codes in Wi-Fi could be reviewed? I have a good reason if you'll hear me out
  2. [10:22:51] Duelmex: why? just ask if someone wants to join, they'll pm you and you share the code there
  3. [10:23:21] Duelmex: or you can /makegroupchat for multiple people
  4. [10:23:44] Shotgun2010: ah but the problem is, you get 3 minutes to set up and prepare the lobby, You need to do a back and forth chat with 3 different people and wait for them to join, if you do another chat it takes even longer. By that point the time runs out
  5. [10:24:13] Duelmex: well don't start until you have enough people then
  6. [10:24:56] Shotgun2010: can I ask why it is forbidden to post the codes publicly, what does that actually prevent?
  7. [10:25:12] Duelmex: everybody spamming codes in chat
  8. [10:25:48] Shotgun2010: so it's better for people to give up on recruiting because nobody joins, or spam the chat asking people to PM them, than a public code that multiple people might join quicker removing the spam faster?
  9. [10:27:10] Duelmex: if no one wants to join, they're not going to enter the code you just posted, if you send out a feeler for interest people that are actually interested can get the code
  10. [10:27:38] Shotgun2010: but that means three or four messages compared to one? I'm not seeing the logic behind it, with all due respect
  11. [10:28:13] Shotgun2010: If anything just change the rule to one code post per person on the screen at a time
  12. [10:28:58] Duelmex: the logic is that codes are spammy and we don't want them in chat, nor is there a reason for them to be in chat
  13. [10:29:39] Shotgun2010: because it's a wi-fi room and grouping up is a positive social interaction?
  14. [10:29:39] Shotgun2010: Codes aren't any more spammy than "looking for more players for X" multiple times surely?
  15. [10:30:38] Shotgun2010: I also skimmed the Wi-Fi room rules and there's nothing stated about posting group-up codes
  16. [10:32:50] Duelmex: this has always been a thing, we don't allow any kinds of codes in chat, it fits under spam for us
