  3. Part 1 Summary:
  4.
  5. -Our hero was created, a young man living in the frigid mountains of Tordo, forced into banditry after his home settlement was wiped out by the recently-surfacing undead scourge. He also talked his much physically-superior girlfriend, Leigh, into the business by virtue of "needing to survive." Shortly after being woken up one morning, our hero found out that Leigh spotted some important-looking fellow with a staff on the way towards a town they plan on taking advantage of, since its Ice Authority representative, Gyo, recently stopped showing up in the area. Leigh doesn't know if that fellow spotted their camp or not, so they decided to take an annoying shortcut to cut him off.
  6. -After the caught up to/cut off the man, a healer named Nicholas, he assumed that they were mercenaries he had sent for (earlier than expected...). They learned that the reason for Gyo's sudden disappearance was that an upstart in the world of banditry known as the Ymir group had taken over the settlement, capturing the ice dragon. Here, Lloyd, our Dark Mage hero, was named. When Cane, the boss of the Ymir group members present in the nameless settlement approached, however, the situation quickly went out of hand. Nick was killed, Leigh was captured, and Lloyd was made to serve the Ymir for her safety. Leigh was upset that he said yes to the offer.
  7. -A few days later, two bandits were sent to retrieve the supplies from Lloyd and Leigh's campsite. They still hadn't come back the next day, much to Cane's confusion, and when Lloyd mentioned that he and Leigh were actually bandits, not mercenaries, she said that they could leave after the now-still-expected mercs arrived. After some ineffectual arguing about this point and a brief visit to where Leigh is being kept, Lloyd excused himself for a walk, which two bandits invited themselves along for to make sure he didn't try to bail. Marrius made his debut taking one of them out, and Yulea and Yancy were introduced moments later. The fourth member of the company who came along, Lyeim, was guarding the campsite they had found (read: Lloyd and Leigh's). Lloyd talked them into letting him accompany them in taking on the Ymir.
  8. -After a confrontation near the entrance of town, Lloyd immediately sought out Leigh, only to find the building she was in ominously empty. Ambushed by Cane, she implied the worst about Leigh, but Lloyd didn't pay her comments as much mind as she hoped, and was inadvertently able to stall her for time until his girlfriend actually showed up to save the day. Yulea showed up later, and the dying Cane attempted to tell her the truth about Leigh and Lloyd's criminal past, but Yulea didn't buy a word of it. Gyo's Ice Stone was soon returned to its rightful owner, and the grateful manakete offered six delicious silver wyvern eggs to our heroes on top of the payment for the actual mercenaries. Leigh and Lloyd were able to join Marrius' company, effective upon the group's return to Heim. After a brief meeting with Lyeim, they had until the following morning before joining up with Marrius' group for the travel down the mountain.

  10. Current party members
  11.
  12. -Lloyd (Dark Mage) A pragmatic young man whose home settlement was destroyed by an undead horde. Left with nothing, he convinced his girlfriend that the two of them needed to become bandits, and a series of coincidences from there led to him joining a noble group of mercenaries.
  13. -Leigh (Mercenary) A strong young woman whose home settlement was destroyed by an undead horde. She was convinced to become a bandit by her boyfriend, but she still has a valiant soul, being enthusiastic about chances to do the right thing. A series of coincidences led to her joining a noble group of mercenaries.
  14. -Marrius (Hero) A famous mercenary company leader and the son of two other prolific sellswords. Despite not being particularly old, he has a mature air about him, and is by all reports a very nice guy.
  15. -Yulea (Cavalier) A green-armored, fair-haired mercenary with a heart as big as she is strong, preferring to wield lances upon her horse. Best friends with Yancy, who feels she's too nice for her own good. Can sometimes be slow on the uptake, but has an overall good head on her shoulders.
  16. -Yancy (Troubadour) A red-armored, brown-redheaded mercenary with a foul, boisterous demeanor, skilled with a sword and a staff alike. Best friends with Yulea, who insists she has a good heart. An admirer of muscles, she's constantly striving to improve herself, and can be snappy.
  17. -Lyeim (Myrmidon) Half-garou, half-human, this guy was the newest member of Marrius' company prior to the appearance of Lloyd and Leigh. Overall, he's a nice, unassuming fellow, though he does have a slight dark side and can be insecure at times.
  18.
  19. Former/absent party members
  20. None yet!
  21.
  22. Deceased Allies
  23.
  24. -Nicholas (Priest, died in thread 1) A righteous-hearted healer who called for the aid of Marrius' company when his town was overrun by the Ymir Group. After mistaking Lloyd and Leigh for members of Marrius' Group, he was killed by one of Cane's lackeys, dying without learning the truth about his town's "saviors," but at least the real deal showed up soon after.
  25.
  26. Deceased Bosses
  27.
  28. -Cane (Warrior, died in thread 1) A cruel woman hailing from far-off islands who apparently knows the pain of losing loved ones and drawn-out deaths, preferring to avert both when possible, albeit knowing it's sometimes unavoidable. She was the leader of the Ymir Group bandits, but apparently until recently was only its second-in-command. After a onesided-in-her-favor fight with Lloyd, she was stabbed in the nick of time by Leigh and finished off by Yulea.
  29.
  30. Noteworthy Non-party Characters
  31.
  32. -Gyo (Ice Dragon) Bearing a childlike, androgynous appearance, Gyo is, like most known manaketes, really several centuries old, but still considered an unworthy upstart by other Ice Authority representatives. Has only killed one Fire Dragon despite the authority's policy, and even that was in self-defense. All in all a pretty nice person, respected by settlers.
  33.
  34. Noteworthy factions
  35.
  36. -Ice Authority: Ruling the Tordo mountains with a frigid fist, this group of Ice Dragons led the nation mostly-undisturbed for years... Until recently, when zombies and the like have been raised in the past few years. Since then, their authority has weakened, and unsavory groups of humans have picked up the slack where they've been hit the hardest. They have a policy of exterminating Fire Dragons and Chameleons on sight, sentiments which most, but not all human settlers share.
  37. -Marrius' Group: A mercenary guild founded by the swordsman Marrius, quickly rising in fame. Typically only sending a few more members than deemed necessary on any given mission, they still have a very low mortality rate and generally report satisfaction. It's arguably more comparable to a mercenary's guild.
  38. -Ymir Group: A bunch of bandits who recently became led by Cane, though their former (and "real") leader has not been revealed. They were significantly weakened, cut up, and humiliated by their defeat in a settlement by members of Marrius' group.
