  1. As negotiated, Hatsu had made his way into the streets of Dawn in order to approach Arthur! With their deal being struck, he was relatively enthusiastic to begin his lessons that had been established, adorning new armor and the likes since his last meeting. An air of confidence surrounds the Wvelven, despite the hint of awkwardness that is presented as he stands before the infamous man and his small throng of undead goons. His hands slip out of his pockets as he offers a nod in greeting, only to settle a hand upon the right side of his own waist.
  2.
  3. "I take it you're not busy? I'm aware you do not enjoy being indebted for too long." He states, a paraphrase of Arthur's own words. Rest assured, Hatsu would not dally in claiming his portion of the discussed terms.
  4. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  5.
  6.
  7. Zendrick Boreale says, "I told you, Chroma, I'm indestructible. "
  8. Anna waddles back over to Artaghh and glared at him.
  9. (Anna)
  10.
  11. Leoda whispers something.
  12.
  13.
  14. Artaghh says, "Nonsense, ye' cannae take damage ye couldn' regenerate."
  15.
  16. Alastor G. Vishkar says, "what."
  17.
  18. Artaghh asks, "Ye' still in me face lass?"
  19.
  20. Jessi Ann says, "What did... I just hear.."
  21.
  22. Zendrick Boreale says, "Chroma, lets spar a bit"
  23. There wasn't that much he was doing as of lately, except furthering his other projects and commanding his armies to take other places on Agartha... still, he remembers the deal that both him and Hatsu struck, and once the man approached him, he gave him naught but a simple nod.
  24.
  25. "Mm... let's get going. I could provide that lesson now."
  26.
  27. "Though, mind you, I will teach you things that are enough to learn Necromancy and push yourself off into bigger directions. I do not intend to keep repeating myself over and over in endless lessons - and you'll hear everything you need today."
  28.
  29. "Whether you actually succeed or not... that's not something that depends on me, but on you instead."
  30.
  31. A simple stroll past Hatsu. It would seem that the Lich was headed towards Research Facility, the place where most of miracles of Necromancy happened.
  32.
  33. "Come."
  34. (Arthur Rowan)
  35.
  36. You have left a Guardian Ritual: 15% flee roll penalty removed!
  37.
  38. The entrance to Research Facility was greeted by countless Undead that worked here- the dead that hardly looked that way, for they were all work and creation of Arthur Rowan. Of course, the aura of decay still remained in the air... a side-effect of Necromancy, and the magical corruption that was nigh impossible to truly get rid of, but the Lich didn't seem to mind it. In fact, he felt himself at home here - how Hatsu felt with overwhelming energy of Necromancy is a wholly different question.
  39.
  40. Though, it may hold such aura in the air, but in return, with how energized this place is... maybe it's even easier to perform Necromancy here?
  41.
  42. He snaps his fingers at Undead servants, and already they know what he wants. A duo of them hurries off, if only to promptly bring the carcass of a human being. For this particular case, it seems like it's a female - by the looks of it, Jianghese descent, probably around her twenties. Died young, no doubt... the reasonfor it seems to be stab wounds. A result of one of raids that his Undead were performing.
  43.
  44. "The act of Necromancy is performed only through physical link. Even for master like I, it is still necessary. Even the littlest thing would be needed, perhaps a chunk of flesh, though I'd need to make a body... but the more, the better."
  45.
  46. "The most important parts are head, stomach, spine and heart. The head keeps personality and memories, stomach is the well of energy and mana, spine is responsible for motor function, and heart assists in transferring the said mana, much like blood. Remove anything from the list, and your Undead may find themselves... lacking."
  47.
  48. Still, his gaze turns to the deceased woman. If Arthur willed it, she would be risen in almost instant - he's that good. As for Hatsu? That's the whole journey he'd need to undergo. Certainly, they could start with something small, like a rat or at least an animal, but the Lich King is way far beyond such simple things.
  49.
  50. "I'll begin guiding you soon. You'll be resurrecting her under my guidance."
  51. (Arthur Rowan)
  52.
  53. Hatsu wastes little time in this exchange of information, a journal already being planted along an empty desk. A quill is accompanied with it, flourished as he proceeds to write down the main portions of interest in regards to the process. Necromancy requiring a physical link was something he was quite aware of, but the steady stream of information had proved surprisingly useful. Portions of the body were ranked in importance, which had gone beyond his scope on the subject itself.
  54.
  55. The not-so-young Wvelven glances up from his journal in order to briefly examine the deceased woman. She appeared to be from a point of origin similar to his own, and yet he barely bats an eye at her pallid form, nor the injuries inflicted. There was no sympathy to be acquired by Hatsu, as Huangzhou was a place he had left behind quite some time ago. They were nothing but enemies, and hypocritical ones at that.
  56.
  57. "Lacking, how? Is that the difference between one's that come offas mindless, and the sentient undead? I've noticed that difference within the city itself. The difference is significant, surprisingly." He admits, attempting to piece together Arthur's information with a real-life scenario. His curious mind was brimming with questions, but he boils them down to perhaps one at a time, eager to continue with the lesson.
  58.
  59. Despite his appearance, Hatsu was one of the biggest book nerds one could find. His passion for learning was apparent, and a rare smile is evident upon his face, despite the morbid setting.
  60. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  61.
  62. "It's simple. If your Undead will be lacking their head, then they will not have any memories or personality, which is... the most troublesome thing. As for the stomach, heart and spine, they all contribute to Undead's state as a whole - the more they lack, the more injured they will be once they come back, and therefore less capable."
  63.
  64. "So what I'm trying to say is, at least make sure you have the head. The rest can be made by taking parts from other bodies, or if you're skilled enough, by creating homunculus or crafting new body parts."
  65.
  66. Still, there's only a small pause before he eyes the body. While for Arthur this sort of resurrection would be very easy and could take just a moment, he imagines that even the full body with as little impairing damages as possible would still take Hatsu a while. After inspection is done, he turns.
  67.
  68. "Begin by fuelling the most important parts I just mentioned in her body. You need to establish the flow of mana within, so that the body is even capable of functioning - even in the state of undeath."
  69.
  70. "Imagine it like... starting up a really old mechanism, something that went out of shape a long time ago, and now you're trying to fix it. You'll need to fuel it first. Once you're done fuelling the most important parts, begin by spreading out the mana flow onto the rest of circuitry."
  71.
  72. "Do it slow. If you rush, you risk botching the process and frying circuitry. If that happens, she will not be able to be resurrected. However, if you're too slow, the flow will not spread quick enough to re-start the flow in her body."
  73.
  74. "Go on. I'll be watching."
  75. (Arthur Rowan)
  76.
  77. Tricky.
  78.
  79. The process for resurrecting a body in question was clearly one that required a keen sense of precision and diligence. His eyes briefly close as he rehearsed the instructions given, taking the time to allow them to digest before even stepping forward. While he was not nervous, he was still facing a relatively daunting task of having to attempt an accomplishment that many have been unable to succeed at. Even so, he felt that he was capable enough with his mana, but it would take some time to grow adjusted to the process itself. Like anything new within the hands of Hatsu, he would take his time dismantling it, and eventually making it his own through studying, repetition, and memorization.
  80.
  81. As his eyes re-open, he would stride toward the body itself, hovering over it briefly as he lightly bites the nail of his thumb. A recollection of the body parts significance is what goes through his mind, and after a brief scanning of the body, he places himself to work in due diligence.
  82.
  83. "The most important parts are the head, stomach, spine and then the heart. The head itself maintains the personality and memories, which gives the undead 'life', so to speak." He reiterates, his hands drifting toward that very same region, his hands lightly planting itself upon the cold flesh of the deceased. It sends a brief chill down his spine, but he isn't necessarily disgusted by the sensation. As an ice Magi, he was used to dealing with the cold, but the morbid vibes he acquired was a practiced taste.
  84.
  85. His eyes gently lid as he attempts to establish the flow of mana within head, the mental imagery of Arthur's analogy not exactly meshing entirely. Despite this, he attempts to work his way around such, and instead focus on the image of gears turning about. The mana would fuel these gears, revitalizing the cogs within as his mana steadily trickles throughout the woman's body. Naturally, failure strikes Hatsu several times over, leaving him to have to restart the process as the flow did not spread quick enough.
  86.
  87. However, he was evidently a quick learner, as he acquired the hang of slipping mana through the body in an effort to 'jump-start' the mechanism in question. His eyes drift from her head to her stomach region, going in the order given to him as his lips incoherently mouth out information. The flow of mana isn't rushed, but it moves at a pace that had an undertone of urgency to it. His recital of the knowledge given proves to be beneficial, as with time?
  88.
  89. The body itself began to move steadily, limbs twitching and jolting as the corpse steadily transitions into the 'un-dead'. Hatsu has a gentle sheen of sweat marking his brow, though he appears to be concentrating intently as his hopes on creating his first undead would yield results.
  90.
  91. The question was: Were these results acceptable?
  92. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  93.
  94. This was just the beginning of the process. To think just how much practice it took for the Lich to control hundreds- no, thousands at once- was certainly hard to imagine. Then again, he started with Necromancy when he was young... much younger than Hatsu is now, and even so he's had a lot of time to hone his craft. While Hatsu follows Arthur's instructions, he calmly observes - it is only natural that he reacts in the most neutral way towards this process, having been the creator of countless undead over decades.
  95.
  96. "Good. Now begin simultaneously establishing the magical circle underneath. If you know the runes, even better. You'll need to lay the foundation of constant feed to the body, and a link between the said body and you. After you think you've established such connection, you will need to begin reaching out... a lot further than you could imagine."
  97.
  98. He pauses. First, he ensures that theprocess Hatsu is doing is going smooth- a simple glance and a brief inspection are more than enough for the Lich to recognize if any fatal error is made, but considering he sees none, he continues speaking.
  99.
  100. "Reach out to the cosmos."
  101.
  102. "With the physical link, that being the body of this woman, you will need to slowly begin coaxing down the soul. Do not cut off the link of the mana - you will need to keep fuelling the body, and maintain the circle beneath for the constant feed and connection, and coax down the soul into the body."
  103.
  104. "Do it with a slow, but firm grip. If you thrash the soul too much, it might begin strongly resisting, so you need to yank it, but over time... imagine 'persuading' the soul into getting back to the body, slow and steady."
  105.
  106. "Yes, it sounds difficult. Yes, it can actually be difficult, especially for the first timers."
  107.
  108. "I hopeyou've been practising in casting several different effects at once."
  109. (Arthur Rowan)
  110.
  111. Hatsu was an attentive student, his eyebrows gently knitting as he digests the information bestowed upon him with ease. While the process before him was certainly not that easy, he was adjusting to it, and acquiring a feel for what it felt like to be within the midst of Necromancy. Establishing a circle beneath was not a wholly impossible process, but his knowledge of runes were certainly not on a level of a runescribe. This ensures that the process is surely one of a bit of difficulty, but there was a lack of fatal errors on his part. His age, accompanied with the immense knowledge of magic were beneficial in this equation, though it was rather deep into adult-hood that he would even begin learning such morbid arts.
  112.
  113. Reaching out to the cosmos was certainly easier, and it was a process in which he could do almost instinctively. He had gone above and beyond with his prowess in cosmic magic, and that subtle confidence ebbs from him as he merely nods. Multi-tasking, however, would prove to be a tiresome act, one of which required his absolute concentration. It was a process in which he had to wholly devote every ounce of focus he had, refusing to slip into the realm of complacency.
  114.
  115. The adjustments within the body are made on occasion, while the circle had finally been realized. An icy blue tangent of symbols, ley-lines and the like gather beneath the body in coordination with his efforts, though coaxing the soul into the body would admittedly be the easiest portion of the process. Cosmic energies begin to gently gather along Hatsu's body, trickling and supplying him with an excess of mana that allows the burden upon his body to be lightened significantly. Akin to persuading stars themselves to heed his call, he attempts to coax the soul from the stars themselves to make their way downward.
  116.
  117. Naturally, such a soul is resistant to his persuasion, but he has no problem calling upon the power of the void to force it under heel. Dominating the outside forces that were beyond most, the Cosmic magi anchors the soul downward, intently pulling upon it until he could acquire a solid grasp upon it, and instill it within the body itself. His concentration is evident, though he is admittedly sweating lightly from the stress.
  118.
  119. He's had his hand in multi-tasking and casting several variations of effects at once, but this task was simply one of difficulty until frequent practice was acquired. Despite this, he felt as if he had done well, but does not relax in the least.
  120.
  121. No, he would maintain that sharpened focus until the process had been finalized.
  122. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  123.
  124. With time, a process like this could become vastly different. While it may look difficult for the first timers, it becomes a lot easier with passing time... up until the souls offer almost no resistance. Not like they could, to begin with - but despite the evident fact that it takes him a while, he simply remains silent. He still remembers how it was like for him, too.
  125.
  126. "After you coaxed it down, awaken the body."
  127.
  128. "A surge of energy should do. Desecrate the magical circle you created underneath the body and feed it to the new Undead. Feed your own energy too so that it may solidify itself in this world, and make sure that the soul remains anchored at all times. Once you do that, it should properly rise and become the Undead you control."
  129.
  130. "Granted, they will rot and have all of the side-effects a common Undead has... but I'm sure you could improve your Art with time. Maybe even pick up a specialization or two."
  131.
  132. Still, he watches. The ending of the ritual was coming to a close, but there was still room for error. It would all depend on just how smoothly Hatsu does this transition.
  133.
  134. And he waits, observing the final results.
  135. (Arthur Rowan)
  136.
  137. The final stretch was making itself apparent, though the room for error only grew as time wore on. Hatsu was certainly aware of the fact that if his concentration slipped at all, he could very well lose his precarious grip upon the soul in question, let alone the entire process of awakening his first undead servant. The pulsing echo of mana vibrates within the back of his head, a pleasant reminder to continually instill mana both within the body, along with the circle he painstakingly made throughout the process. Luckily for him, requiring ample amounts of mana happened to land within his strong suits, and manipulating it with precision had come with vast experience within combat. While it was anything but a simple task, it was still one that could be accomplished, and one that Hatsu was prepared to complete with minimal errors.
  138.
  139. He started off roughly, but once he had gotten into the swing of things, his clarity only grew more pronounced. As the soul was finally tethered within the body, despite its ethereal writhing, Hatsu would ensure it remained within its 'cage', so to speak. As it was successfully locked away within its old, mortal coil, he would desecrate the magical circle, supplying the body itself an ample supply of 'fuel'.
  140.
  141. Accompanied with this was his own supply of mana, which only served to rejuvenate itself as time wore on. His eyes lid as the body itself had ceased its spasms, but he could certainly 'feel' that it was within his control. A long spell of silence takes place as he scrutinizes his work, and as the body slowly comes to a rise, he flashes an almost child-like grin of satisfaction.
  142.
  143. It was not the work of a genius by any means, but he had quickly adapted and had completed his very first attempt in what he believed to be in due diligence.
  144.
  145. "How did I do?" He inquires, gesturing to the risen undead.
  146. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  147.
  148. There's a long way to perfection from this point on, of course. But for beginner... he carefully observes all that Hatsu has done so far, examining each and every piece of detail with great attention - whether the mana circulates properly, if the tether of the soul is stable, and ensuring that the Undead would be capable of executing commands given to it. A simple inspection made by experienced Lich reveals no fatal error. Of course, there are flaws, and yet...
  149.
  150. "It's fine. I can see how it could go smoother, but I'm pretty sure you can do better as time goes on. It's all a matter of experience, really."
  151.
  152. In fact, there isn't much that Arthur could teach a beginner. Surely, there are many more things that he could teach him, that he could provide to him, but he wouldn't. Why? For a simple reason that they demand more practiced hand, someone who's already established as a real Necromancer, or someone who even became a Master. As it stands, Hatsu isn't that just yet.
  153.
  154. And wouldn't that be bad to mess his head up by excessive, and even unnecessary knowledge as of now?
  155.
  156. "I would suggest to begin deciding what you'll do with your Art, assuming you'll actually be invested and learn a lot more."
  157.
  158. "Cho Grauhimmel, for instance, has a lot of experience with soul transfer. I'm capable of that too, but she's better than I, and she can do the most complicated operations with quite an ease."
  159.
  160. "Me, on the other hand... I focused on raw strength of Necromancy, and I command thousands - not to mention, the perfection of my Undead, which I'm pretty sure you've seen already."
  161.
  162. "You? You could make something of your own. There are many Arts that are also associated with Necromancy and work in tandem."
  163.
  164. "Good luck picking."
  165. (Arthur Rowan)
  166.
  167. There's a brief moment of reflection on Hatsu's part, already picking apart his own process and scrutinizing it. His smile had dispersed as he studies the undead that now seated itself upright, a gentle frown forming as his hand balls into a fist. Tucking it beneath his chin, he takes on the appearance of someone in deep thought! How could he have done this better, or what areas did he need to work on were the questions that ran through his mind. He would have to dissect his methods later, and improve upon them before even worrying about what laid ahead.
  168.
  169. His strength would only be as great as the foundation it was set upon, and correcting errors in the infantile stages was his priority. Even so, he listens to what Arthur had to say, glancing over at the masked individual with a gentle nod of his head. He was not aware of Cho's abilities, but there were two distinct paths placed before him, as of now. Perhaps he'd be able to manipulate his own into the making, but for now?
  170.
  171. He would settle with the basics. He would come to understand them, and eventually work his way up the ladder of knowledge and acquire the information that laid beyond his reach, as of now.
  172.
  173. "I understand. I thank you for your time, Arthur. Especially since you did not merely spoon-feed me the information. I am someone who enjoys learning, so to have a first-hand experience like this? It will aid me greatly. I will see my progress from this point forward, so rest assured that your time here will be put to good use."
  174.
  175. A hand is extended outward, a rather cliché gesture, but it was universal. His debt had been paid, though Hatsu wouldn't voice complaints if he felt the need to have another lesson in the future.
  176. (Hatsu Wvelven)
  177.
  178. His hand extended was received with the Liches own. Though, there isn't quite that much of a grip in Arthur's hand... when Hatsu goes for a handshake, he would quickly realize that beneath the gloves that Arthur has, there is no...
  179.
  180. There is no hand.
  181.
  182. At least, not in the way he would expect. A bony handshake greets him instead, and as much as the glove covers it, the squeeze of his hand reveals the gaps where skin and muscle were supposed to be. With how the Lich was decaying rapidly, all of it was already gone- and more of his was very likely gone too.
  183.
  184. "You're welcome."
  185.
  186. "There's little I can do for you now. Repetitive lessons can only advance your studies so much... this Art requires pro-activity, and it's best that you begin doing all sorts of things to master it."
  187.
  188. "For now, farewell."
  189. (Arthur Rowan)
