  1. [18:18] Artemis Task whispers to Pachua: I'd been wanting to learn more of the Fireblooded. From Revan, no less. They irony that I requested this on the same day he threw his coup isn't lost on me.
  2. [18:19] Artemis Task whispers to Pachua: Whenever you have time.
  3. [18:19] Pachua whispers to Artemis Task: I have time now?
  4. [18:19] Artemis shrugs.
  5. (Artemis Task)
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [18:19] Artemis Task whispers to Pachua: At your leisure then.
  9. [18:19] Pachua says, "Mhm."
  10. [18:19] Artemis Task whispers to Pachua: I am the one asking a favor.
  11. [18:19] Hayakuen Xie says, "Uh... Whatever that means."
  12. [18:20] Pachua says, "Well, An, I'm glad to have had this talk"
  13. [18:20] Hayakuen Xie says, "That's a lot of Arcanium in that Sword, when I think about it."
  14. [18:20] Pachua asks, "I do appreciate you, never forget, okay?"
  15. [18:20] Pachua nudges Artemis to follow.
  16. (Pachua)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [18:21] Anlaufr says, "Mhm."
  20. [18:21] Anlaufr says, "Now.. Anyone up for some spar? I need to train.."
  21. [18:21] Astrid says, "No doubt... This thing is a devestating piece of equipment..."
  22. [18:21] Pachua says, "Rae, you're it."
  23. [18:21] Astrid exclaims, "It fits the guy pf-haha!"
  24. [18:23] Taking Pachua into the Citadel, the Patriarch would manipulate the flames with his tempest winds to circulate within the center to create an undying flame. As it rises, the majority of the fires would continue as it would only go to warm the once cold area.
  25.
  26. Afterwards, he gets the book of the Fireblooded and sits, tapping on the bench for them to come.
  27.
  28. "What would you like to know?"
  29. (Pachua)
  30. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  31.
  32. [18:25] Artemis, whom is decidedly dressed down on the occasion of the day, takes a seat on the benches. She crosses her legs and folds her hands in her lap, ever still the picture of poise.
  33.
  34. "Everything. I know really only enough to get by. I suppose there are certain things that were not...shall we say, beat into me, as they were my brothers."
  35. (Artemis Task)
  36. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  37.
  38. [18:29] "Right."
  39.
  40. A flip of the page as Pachua would start to speak in a more understood way.
  41.
  42. "The Fireblooded believe that the world begun with a spark of life, and the element that ushed into the world was fire. As it was once filled with void, the flames filled it's warmth."
  43.
  44. "That flame is the driving force behind every human and is central to their soul. It is their passion and their ambition, as well as their will."
  45.
  46. "The Divine spirit that breathed these flames of life was Ryujin, the forefather of every dragon and to every drakanite to date."
  47.
  48. With that said, he would look over towards Artemis.
  49.
  50. "We believe in living honorable lives and fight with fearlessness and strength."
  51.
  52. "If we do so, we will be permitted to the realm of the exalted, Vanaheim. Where we will be able to gather with other warriors until the world's end and a battle like no other."
  53.
  54. "If deniedthat? We reincarnate until we do."
  55.
  56. A smile rising as he simply points his finger towards the text of dragons.
  57.
  58. "Dragons are naturally revered and to be protected, and if anything were to harm them, they die. They're a dwindling species, and as such, they are to be protected."
  59. (Pachua)
  60. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  61.
  62. [18:33] Artemis lends her ear, patient. Again, she had requested this favor, after all. Anything less would have been terribly rude to give. Besides. What she did already know only served as a crucial reminder.
  63.
  64. "But, given that my father is an Elder, I suppose it is not required to be dragon-blooded to hold some status, no?"
  65.
  66. He'd persisted for an admirable time as an Elder- and still did in spite of recent attempts.
  67.
  68. "It does seem...fairly straight forward. Yes. Essentially it's the worship of passion, desire, and ambition, isn't it? At least that's always what Revan seemed to be spouting. Pity it was just words."
  69. (Artemis Task)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [18:37] "You don't have to be a dragon to get status, and it's encouraged that everyone joins it."
  73.
  74. He smiled widely at that, only letting his book go down to the side while also letting a hum follow.
  75.
  76. "You are supposed to represent yourself like a dragon should."
  77.
  78. "How is up to you, for even though Dragons are selfish in nature, they are also wise; so how you live is up to you."
  79.
  80. With his eyes coming to a close, he would let a single shrug start to follow before a chuckle came.
  81.
  82. "I think he meant to speak about the idea of Desire and Restraint; that a man or woman is only as great as their ambition."
  83. (Pachua)
  84. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85.
  86. [18:41] Artemis nods slowly, considering his words and the tome in his possession.
  87.
  88. "I think I already have the representation covered. I am working on the rest," she remarks. "And how would one go about joining, if that was their wish?"
  89.
  90. It was damn near to a family tradition. Perhaps it was high time to follow it.
  91.
  92. "Yes, well, what he meant to speak about hardly matters anymore. Nor does anything else that comes out of his mouth any longer," is the beastkin's rather bitter reply.
  93. (Artemis Task)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [18:42] "It's not his words, it's the words of Thorgil."
  97.
  98. "Thorgil once went to Garljing and spoke to him about if there is good and evil; his answer was simple..."
  99.
  100. He clears his throat to let it go deeper, only trying his best to replicate the great dragon.
  101.
  102. "There is only Desire and Restraint. Selfishness...is seen as sin, but this is wrong. It is your kind's nature to want. The angels will tell you to be merciful, be good. Shackle and limit yourself, when a man is only as great as his ambition."
  103.
  104. His voice goes back to normal as he lets a smile rise further in explaining it.
  105.
  106. "He had his own tenants; Never outnumber a foe, do not shy from violence, and to Discover a want that you would crush nations for."
  107.
  108. "That said? To join, I simple ask you to do one simple thing for me."
  109. (Pachua)
  110. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  111.
  112. [18:47] Knowing that they were not, in fact, Revan's own words gave them far more credence. They did echo much of what the once-Task enjoyed pratting on and reflecting about.
  113.
  114. "I believe I like that far better," she agrees, nodding. It went without saying that it certainly matched well with her family's own codes. Distinction between 'good' and 'evil' was not exactly Task core curriculum.
  115.
  116. And there it was again. A Want to Crush Nations For. Artemis frowns.
  117.
  118. "I will consider it. What do you ask?"
  119.
  120. Nothing is promised without probing.
  121. (Artemis Task)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [18:47] A finger raised towards the fire that he made in the middle.
  125.
  126. "I ask you to make your hands into the form of a heart, and I want you to pray towards it."
  127.
  128. "I want you to be able to give into Ryujin, the Forefather, and Garljing the Son, to do the will of the dragons and to protect Theria as a whole."
  129.
  130. Simple things, right?
  131. (Pachua)
  132. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  133.
  134. [18:52] It really was a simple thing. The Task name was tied to Theria as a whole. This is where her father's legacy was born, and this is where it was liable to die. If the old man ever really did croak.
  135.
  136. "The Fireblooded make it their way to live as dragons, yes?..." she asks, pausing after her query.
  137.
  138. "What business would a dragon have in this submission?"
  139.
  140. It's often her way to be a pain in the ass. Artemis practically makes it her life's goal.
  141. (Artemis Task)
  142. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  143.
  144. [18:53] "That Ryujin recognizes you as one of his worshipers, and the same for Garljing when we go to meet him."
  145.
  146. He chuckled, afterwards as he closed his eyes and let his arms spread out to rest against the bench itself.
  147.
  148. To be worthy in Ryujin and Garljing's eyes were the ideal thing.
  149.
  150. "Is that simple and fair for you?"
  151. (Pachua)
  152. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  153.
  154. [19:05] The notion of 'worship' still felt strange to her. Yet...her father had been its Elder.
  155.
  156. "When we go to meet him?" she questions, brow arching. But she does not wait for its reply. Her hands lift.
  157.
  158. "I suppose it would not be enough to promise Theria's protection alone. Would it?"
  159. (Artemis Task)
  160. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  161.
  162. [19:06] "Every five years with supply of gold or a sacrifice from the captured of war," he said.
  163.
  164. His eyes closed afterwards.
  165.
  166. "Not at all. Give them a hundred percent and then some. Show your dedication, alright?"
  167. (Pachua)
  168. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  169.
  170. [19:11] Really, she had not been expecting to actually go out and devote herself to something immediately. What she'd intended was to learn, really. Which she had.
  171.
  172. Her hands lower. Artemis shakes her head.
  173.
  174. "I was going to speak with my father later regardless. This is not something I would do if I were to be unsure. Anything less than certainty would be an insult to you and your creed.
  175.
  176. But if, or when, I am? You will be the first to know. Thank you, Pachua."
  177. (Artemis Task)
  178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  179.
  180. [19:14] Well, if that was the case, then it would be fair for it all in the end.
  181.
  182. Granted that he was happy in general to see how this all worked out in the end, Pachua wished that it was him doing the bring in at the very middle.
  183.
  184. "It would be an honor to do such a thing, though... if anything?"
  185.
  186. "I do appreciate you."
  187. (Pachua)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [19:16] A part of her had expected some kind of backlash, even been braced for it, yet that is the price of pride and honesty. However, there is none.
  191.
  192. Artemis blinks at him. One of her ears flicks and her tail lightly sways over the edge of the bench.
  193.
  194. "...Then if it comes to pass, you will be the one to initiate me. It is only fair, given your time to teach. And...
  195.
  196. Well. Thank you."
  197. (Artemis Task)
  198. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  199.
  200. [19:18] "I mean it, I do."
  201.
  202. His serpent eyes moved over to look directly into theirs, having a more neutral face.
  203.
  204. "You have a certain tenacity to you that other women don't have. Where others would gladly give up upon giving orders, you push the boundary and make sure that your statement is heard."
  205.
  206. "You never take no for an answers, and I believe that is what makes you beautiful in my eyes."
  207.
  208. A hum and a tap against the peach fuzz of his chin, a simple scratch.
  209.
  210. "I never found a girl's physical beauty as, well, beautiful, but their smile, eyes, and a never say die personality is all the most appealing."
  211.
  212. "Keep it up. You would make a Fireblooded. Hel, you could even be a Priest one day."
  213. (Pachua)
  214. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  215.
  216. [19:19] Pachua says, "-er, great Fireblooded."
  217. [19:20] {Item} You picked up Cape. Dropped by Pachua..
  218. [19:22] And Artemis stares back, parsing his expression and words in parallel.
  219.
  220. "If I did not no better," she begins smoothly, "I would say you were coming on to me." There's a pause, followed by a sharp bark of laughter, which is then further followed by a clearing of her throat.
  221.
  222. "Yes, well. Fireblooded or not. I do not plan to lack for ambition. You can be sure of this regardless."
  223.
  224. She stands and smooths herself over. One does not have to be wearing finery to be concerned with appearance, after all.
  225.
  226. "Thank you for your time, Pachua. If you have more later when I return, I may as for assistance in practice."
  227. (Artemis Task)
  228. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  229.
  230. [19:25] That was something to consider.
  231.
  232. Coming on to someone, that never seemed to be the case for him when it came to these sorts of compliments.
  233.
  234. "I don't know what that means, and that is the first time I ever heard the phrase."
  235.
  236. Sitting up, he would look over with a single nod.
  237.
  238. "I wouldn't mind helping you practice; Though, these terms are something I would like to learn in due time..."
  239.
  240. With the tempest, Pachua would inhale some of the winds and blow it out in a powerful, flame-withering breath, only sighing afterwards.
  241.
  242. "I'll be in the square."
  243. (Pachua)
  244. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  245.
  246. [19:26] Artemis Task says, "...You are certainly an odd bird. It shall be a trade then."
  247. [19:26] Artemis Task says, "I shall come for your feathers later then. Take care for now."
  248.
