五章開始です。

---　入学式というのは校長の話を聞いたり、元卒業生だとか偉い人の話を聞くのが主であるが、こちらの世界でも大して変わりはないようだ。
At the school entrance ceremony, listen to talks from headmaster, former graduate, and celebrities, so it seems not too much different in this world.
　あれから二日後、俺達新入生は学校で一番大きい講堂に集められ、エリュシオン学園の入学式が行われた。
Two days later, the freshmen are gathered in school’s number one biggest auditorium, where the entrance ceremony of Elysion’s school is performed.
俺はすでに見たが（変装した姿だが）、ここで初めて新入生は学校長であるロードヴェルを見ることが出来る。
I have seen him already (in disguised form), but here is the first time where freshmen can see the headmaster, Rodwell.
　ロードヴェルはエルフ特有の長耳に、真っ白い肌に金髪が煌く美丈夫だ。顔も完璧な作りを持つイケメンであり、とても四百を超えた者とは思えない。
Rodwell is good looking elf with characteristics of long ear, pure white skin, and dazzling blond hair. His face is also good looking and it doesn't seem at all for a person beyond four hundred years old.

　魔法を極めし者(マジックマスター)と呼ばれるロードヴェルは大陸随一の魔法士であり、火を除いた三つの得意属性を持つ三重(トリプル)でもある。
Rodwell is called Magic Master, the best magician in the continent, and he has high aptitude with three attributes except fire.
　嵐を起こし、洪水を呼び、地震で全てを崩壊させる凄まじい魔力量を持ち、更に唯一得意でもない火も上級まで極めた正に天才であろう。エルフの長寿を生か し、数百年経った今でも彼は驕る事無く己を磨き続けており、メリフェスト大陸において知らぬ者無しと呼ばれる最強の魔法士だ。
He holds tremendous magic power which causes a storm, calling a flood and earthquake that crumbling everything, furthermore, even if he is not good with fire, he is considered an advanced genius. Taking the advantage of elves' longevity, few hundred of years has passed, even now he continued polishing himself without being arrogant, called as the strongest magic fighter that no one in Melifest doesn't know him.
　実際彼に憧れて学校に入学する者が後を絶たず、壇上に立って演説している姿を見ながら新入生の一部が恍惚とした表情をしていた。
In fact, there is no end for people who long for him and enters the school (like his fan?), and part of freshmen have an ecstatic expression while seeing a figure moves to give a speech.

「君達はここエリュシオン学園で何を学ぶのか？　それは各人によって様々だろう。だが、私が大いに学んでもらいたいのは、それらを正しい方向へ使う心だ。 諸君が学んだ魔法と技術は様々な方面で役に立つだろうが、裏を返せば簡単に人を脅したり殺したり出来るものなのだ。それを常に忘れないでほしい」
"What do you want to study here in Elysion Academy? It would be different according to each person. But, it's the heart for which those are used in the right direction, that I want you to learn great deal. The magic and the technology you learned would be useful at various field, but in turn, a person can be threatened, killed and be done easily. As always, I want you to not forget that." (Rodwell)

　ふむ、どこの世界も校長の話ってのは長いものだな。
Hmmm, the headmaster's speech is long no matter in what world.
　ちなみに俺がロードヴェル実際の姿を見た感想は、やっぱりあの時の人かと改めて確信しただけだった。とんでもなく強いのだろうが、俺達の敵ってわけじゃないし、適度に付き合えればそれでいいと思っている。
By the way, the thought after seeing Rodwell's actual  form is that, I am convinced once more he was that person at that time. He is probably outrageously powerful, but I don't think he will become our enemy, and I think it's OK to associate with him moderately.
「ふあっ……」
"Uhaa...." (Emilia)
「珍しいな、エミリアが欠伸か」
"That's unusual, are you yawning Emilia?" (Sirius)
「あ、その……ルームメイトの子とお話して夜更かししちゃいまして」
"Aa, that... I had to stay up late because I talk with my roommate." (Emilia)

　小声で会話しながら、隣に立つエミリアは恥ずかしそうにしていた。
Emilia who stand next to me looks embarrassed while talking in low voice.
　どうやら彼女は同部屋のルームメイトと上手くやっていけてるようだ。話によると部屋は二人部屋で、相手は人族の女の子だが獣人を警戒せず、むしろ親しげに話してくる優しい娘だそうだ。
Apparently, she seems to get along well with a her roommate of same room. According to her story, her room is a double room, and her companion is human girl, who is not wary with beastkin, rather I heard it seems to be the gentle daughter talking intimately.

「リースと言いまして、青髪の綺麗な女の子なんです」
"Her name is Reese (Ri-su), and she is a beautiful girl with blue hair." (Emilia)
「もう友達が出来たのか。良かったな」
"Have you make a friend already? That's good." (Sirius)
「はい！　私の友達です」
"Yes! She's my friend." (Emilia)
　憂いなく笑う彼女を見て、学生寮生活は順調のようだ。これだけでも学校に来た意味はあったと思う。
Seeing her laugh without fear, it appears that the student dorm life would be alright.  Even with this only (Sirius refers to Emilia's laughter), I think there is meaning to come to the school.
　そして反対側に視線を向けるとレウスが立ったまま寝ており、更に隣の狐族の少年が肩を叩いて起こそうとしていた。
Then, when I turn my eyes to opposite site, Reus is sleeping while standing up, and the foxkin boy next to him is trying to wake him up by nudging his shoulder.

「兄貴、流石に寝るのはまずいよ」
"Aniki, as expected, it's bad to fall asleep." (Foxkin boy)
「ん？　ああ、ごめんごめん」
"Hmm? Aaa, sorry." (Reus)

　この狐族の少年は名前をロウと言い、本人曰くレウスの舎弟だそうだ。
The foxkin boy name is called Rou, looks like Reus himself got this boy as his underling.
　レウスの話によると、彼はルームメイトだったらしく、初めて学生寮の部屋に入ったらいきなり喧嘩を売られたので撃退したそうだ。
According to Reus' story, it seems he was a roommate, they say during the first time he entered the dormitory's room, the fight broke out and he was kicked out.
『この俺が全く敵わないなんて。舎弟にしてください！』
"Such thing, I am really no match for them. Please let me your underling!" (??)
　自分の邪魔さえしなければ良いと約束させ、レウスは舎弟を受け入れた。初めて紹介された時は唖然としたものだが、彼は空気を読む男であり、必要な時以外 は近寄ってこないのである。それは弟分としてどうなのだろうかと思ったが、レウスの邪魔するなという言葉を忠実に守っているとも言える。
If only its a hindrance to myself, I won't do it, but since Reus made them promise to be good, he accepted an underling. When he was being introduced for the first time, he was speechless, but this guy can read the atmosphere, because he won't be getting close unless at necessary time.

『どうも、自分はロウと言います。素早さには自信があるので、よろしくお願いします兄貴！」
"Thank you, I am Rou. I am confidence with my agility, so it's nice to meet you, Aniki!" (Rou)
『兄貴を兄貴って呼んでいいのは俺だけだ！』
"I'm the only one call Aniki, Aniki!" (Reus)
『ひぃっ！　すいません、親分です！　よろしくお願いします、親分！」
"Hiii! I'm sorry boss (oyabun)! Nice to meet you, boss!" (Rou)

　何だろうな、入学早々自分の知らない所で手下が増えていた。
What is this, I'm not sure how did I get new underling in a hurry at enrolment ceremony.
　そして俺の住処である建物だが、この二日で人が住むには十分なレベルまで片づけが済んだ。
Then, the building which is my house, has been finished cleaning in two days, to sufficient level where a human can live there.
　『春風の止まり木』からお金を渡して布団を分けてもらい、他に必要な物があれば随時予算と相談して買い揃えた。今では下手な民家より立派な住処となっており、空いた部屋等をどうするか検討中だ。その辺りは学校に通いつつ徐々に改造していこうと思う。
In short amount of time, I hand over the money to buy things especially futon, other necessary things after estimating the budget. From pitiful house, it has become a splendid house, and right now, I am considering what to do with the available rooms. I think I will remodel the surrounding gradually while going to school.

「――以上が私から言える事だ。続いて、我が学校の教育課程を説明しようと思う。まず一年目だがー……」
“…There are more of things to be said. Next, I am going to explain the curriculum at my school. First, for freshmen…” (Rodwell)

　学校長の話を纏めると、この学校の教育課程は五年だ。
To sums up the headmaster talk, the curriculum at this school is for five years.
　最初の二年は共学で勉強し、三年目からは各人の希望する専門分野を学ぶようになる。
The first two years is studying in co-educational, and then each person can learn specialized field starting from third year.
　学校には四属性の魔法科を中心に様々な分野が存在し、レウスは剣術科、エミリアは魔法科、そして俺は魔道具を作る魔法陣専門の技師、魔法技師科に入る予定だ。
Various fields exist in the school where it focus on four departments; Reus is specialized in swordsmanship department, Emilia is for magic department, and since I’m specialized in magic formation creation, I plan to enter magic engineering department.

「それでは、新入生達に向けて各分野の先生から一言もらおうと思う。まずは土魔法のスペシャリストであるマグナ先生からお願いしよう」
“Well then, I think I’m going to let teachers for every field to give some words. First of all, I would like to invite the earth magic specialist, Magna-sensei.” (Rodwell)
　その後、風や剣術等の各分野のスペシャリストたる先生達が紹介されていく。そして赤と黄色の二色の線が入ったマントを付けた男が壇上に立つと講堂の空気が一変した。
After that, specialist serving as teachers in various fields such as wind (magic) and swordsmanship are being introduced. And then, when a man who put a mantle that contains red and yellow of the two-colors lining entered and stood on the stage, the atmosphere changed completely.

「火と土の専門であるグレゴリだ。私は名誉貴族かつ二重(ダブル)の持ち主であり、我がクラスでは貴族と強い者を求めておる。獣人と違い、誇り高い貴族は我がクラスへと来るがいい。我が家名と二重(ダブル)の名を賭けて強くしてやろう。以上だ」
“I am Gregori, specialized in fire and earth attributes. I'm being an honor noble and talented in double attributes, I am searching for strong nobles for my class. Unlike beastkin, proud nobles should come to my class. I wage my house name and double (attributes) name and I will work hard for this."

　その言葉に獣人達は眉を顰め、貴族の大半は嬉々として拍手をしていた。
The beastkins frowned their eyebrows while most of the nobles joyfully clap their hand when hearing those words.
　ただでさえ貴族や獣人とは溝があるというのに、あの男は一体何を考えているのだろうか？　無色である俺を毛嫌いしていたし、定型的な傲慢野郎か？　見れば学校長も呆れ顔で溜息をついている。あんなのでも雇わないといけないなんて、貴方も苦労しているんですね。
What on earth does that man thing like it's a normal to create a gap between nobles and beastkin, don't you agree? Do you hate me for being colorless and are you a typical arrogant man? You have trouble too, to employ such person, right.

「……あの野郎が兄貴に嫌がらせした張本人か」
"...The bastard who pestered Aniki is this guy?" (Reus)

「面接の時も私達を嫌な目で見ていましたし、色々注意が必要な人のようですね」
"During the interview too, there seems to be someone who is always judging us with detestable look and we have to be very careful with them." (Emilia)

「困った事にかなり上位の貴族だからな。下手に手を出そうとするんじゃないぞ？」
"It's troublesome since he is considerably powerful noble. I won't handle this poorly by showing my hand?" (Reus)
　今にも飛び掛りそうなレウスを宥めつつ、己を全く疑わないグレゴリの背中を眺め続けた。あの男の目……どこかで見た目だな。
I kept looking at Gregory's back who doesn't himself while calming Reus who seem going to jump at him at anytime soon. That guy eye...where have I seen that appearance.

「えー……とにかく以上で入学式は終りだ。外に置かれたクラス表を見て、それぞれの教室に向かいなさい」
"Err...Anyway, that's it and the enrolment ceremony is over. Look at the class arrangement that has been put outside, and please face towards respective departments." (??)

　最後にしこりを残しつつ、こうして入学式は終えた。

Thus, the enrolment is over while leaving the hard feelings at the end.

　講堂を出ると、目の前に立つ大きな看板には新入生のクラス表が張られていた。
Upon exiting the auditorium, a big sign that stands in front of freshmen where the class arrangement has been erected.
　だが新入生の行動は様々で、クラスを確認してすぐ向かう者、周りの生徒と談笑する者、そして遅れて出てきた先生に質問している者と多種多様である。
But the freshmen's behavior are various, some are checking the class immediately, some are having friendly chat, and a lot are asking questions at questions who comes out late.
　俺はクラス表を確認しに行ったレウスを待ちながら、そんな光景をぼんやりと眺めていた。
I am looking at such view absentmindedly while Reus is confirming my class arrangement.

「本当に様々な人達がいるんですね。集落やあの家にいたのではわからない事ばかりです」
"There are truly various people here, isn't. This is the only thing that can't be understood when I was in a village and that house." (Emilia?)
　俺の隣に立つエミリアの服装は学校指定のローブだ。実技や特別な行事を除いて着用が義務化されており、ローブに付いているスカーフの色が学年の証になる。ちなみに一年の俺達は青色だ。
Emilia, who stands next to me, is wearing a robe with school designation. Wearing it is mandatory with the exception of practical and special events, and the color of the scarf which sticks to the robe is a proof of the grade in school.
　簡単な作りに見えるが、希少な魔法の糸を原料とした特殊なローブであり、魔力を込めればナイフを通さない強靭な防具でもある。街中でも着用が許されているので、学生割りってわけじゃないが着ていれば店によってはサービスを受けられるようだ。
It seems easy to make, but it's a special robe that is made by the thread of rare magic as raw material, it provides strong protection when supplied with mana that can block knife's penetration. Since, wearing the robe is allowed in downtown, and it seems dropping by a store while wearing it can get you a service offer.

「……どうしたんですか？　私の姿が何か変でしょうか？」
"...What happened? Is there anything weird with my dress?" (Emilia)
「いや、メイド姿もいいが、それも似合っているなと思ってな。可愛いぞエミリア」
"No, although wearing maid dress is good, but I think this dress suits you too. Emilia is cute." (Sirius)
「本当ですか！　嬉しいです」
"Really?! I'm happy." (Emilia)
　長い銀髪を翻しながら彼女はくるっと回ってはにかんだ。うむ、弟子補正抜きで可愛いぞ。
She goes around embarrassedly while waving her long silver hair. Hmmm, she's cute disciple as it is.
　学校には沢山の女子生徒がいるが、その中でもエミリアはトップレベルの可愛さだと思う。元からの容姿に加えて光を反射し輝く銀髪に、年齢の割には発育の良い胸によって様々な人達の注目を集めていた。事実、何人かの男子生徒がこちらをチラ見しているし、女子生徒でさえ輝く銀髪に見とれていた。
In addition to the physical appearance, the shining silver hair reflects light, and in spite of age, it had attracted various people’s attention by fine chest growth. In fact, several male students are looking at this direction, even female students are fascinated with her shining silver hair.

「そういえばリース……だっけ？　一度会ってみたいんだが、彼女はどこにいるんだ？」
“Speaking of which… even Reese too? Where is she? I would like to meet her once.” (Sirius)
「それが家の方で呼ばれたそうで、今日は学校へ来れなかったそうです」
“It seems she was called back home, and she couldn’t come today.” (Emilia)
「入学式に来れないって、相当な問題なのか？」
“Is it because of substantial problem that makes you not to come to entrance ceremony?” (Sirius)
「それが私もよくわからないんです。ですが本人は大丈夫と笑ってましたし、学校へ許可は取ってあると言っていました」
“I’m not too sure about that. But the person herself is alright, she was laughing and she said she got permission from school.” (Emilia)
「本人が大丈夫と言うなら特に問題は―……」
“If you say she’s OK, the problem in particular is…”

「ああ、ここにいましたか」
“Aaa, is it here?”
　主人として一度会っておきたかったリースの話をしていると、背後から声をかけられたので振り向いた。そこには入学試験時に俺を合格させた先生……改め、変装したロードヴェルが柔和な笑みを浮かべて立っていた。
I would like to meet Reese once as her master and have some talk. Since there are background voices, so I turned around. The teacher who gave me a pass during entrance exam is here…correction, it’s Rodwell in disguised form, stand with smiling face.

「面接の時以来ですね。貴方達が無事入学できて嬉しいですよ」
“It’s been a while since the interview, isn’t? I’m glad because you guys are able to enter school safely.”
「無事かどうかあれですが、これからよろしくお願いします。で…………何をやっているんですか学校長？」
“Well it’s somewhat safe but from now on, please take care of me. Hmm.. what are you doing here, headmaster?” (Sirius)

　とりあえず相手の意図を考慮し、小さく周りに聞こえない声で話した。
First of all, considering that’s guy aim, I spoke by using small voice so that no one can hear.

「やはり気付いてましたか。この姿での私は一人の先生、ヴィルでお願いします」
“As expected, did you notice? I am known Vile (Vairu) when I’m using this form as teacher for freshmen.” (Rodwell/Vile)
　そりゃあわざわざ変装しているんだ。お忍びってやつだろうし、エミリアは気付いていない様子なので合わせるとしよう。
Well, I’m also disguising myself intentionally. What a stealthy guy, I wonder, and since Emilia couldn’t notice the situation, she tries to match with the situation.

「実は貴方に用がありましてね、私は謝罪しにきたのですよ」
“Honestly, after you’re finished with your stuff, I have come to apologize.” (Rodwell)
「謝罪？　俺としては合格にしてくれたし、ヴィル先生に不満はありませんよ？」
“Appologize? You have made me pass and Vile-sensei has no discontent, right?” (TLN: Sirius means that it’s not a big deal as long as he passed the exam)
「いえ、寮の件です。私がいない間にあの男がシリウス君の住む場所を勝手に決定した事です」
“It’s not that, it’s a matter of dormitory. That guy decided selfishly about the place where Sirius-kun stays, while I was away.” (Rodwell)
　あの男とはグレゴリの事だろう。獣人と平民を嫌う男だが、無色に過剰の嫌悪感を抱いていたからな。俺への嫌がらせであそこへ飛ばしたんだろうが、校長の目を盗んでまでやるとは性格悪いなぁ。
I think he meant it’s a matter of Gregory. That guy hates beastkin and commoner and since I’m colorless, he hates that fact terribly.

「私の確認ミスでもあります。すぐに命令を撤回し、空いた寮の部屋に戻しましょう」
“I miss that when I confirm the arrangement. I’ll withdraw the instruction immediately, and put you into an available room in the dormitory.” (Rodwell)
「いえ、もう結構ですよ」
“No, it’s fine.”
「ですが、あそこは学校から距離がありますし、廃墟と化した建物しかありませんよ？」
“But, the quite distance from school to that place and that place has become abandoned building.”
「実はすでに住みやすい環境を整えました。屋根とか腐っていたのでやり替えたのですが、問題はありますか？」
“To tell the truth, I have arranged the place and it becomes habitable already. Since the roof went bad, I have replaced them, is there any problem?” (Sirius)
「問題はありませんが、僅か三日でやったと？」
“Although, there is no problem, but did you do it in three days?” (Rodwell)
「ええ、建築技術を多少持っていたので、素人ながらやれるだけやってみました。謝罪にきたのなら一つお願いがあるのですが、聞いてもらっていいですか？」
“Yes, because I know some construction skill, I tried to do it eventhough I’m amateur at it. If you come to apologize, I have one favor to ask, will you hear it?” (Sirius)
「え、ええ……私が出来る範囲であれば」
“Err, yes… if I can do it, of course.” (Rodwell)
「あそこの建物を自由に弄る許可を頂きたいのです。後になって、学校の所有建物を改造するなって文句言われても困るので」
“I would like to have permission to fiddle that house freely. The reason is I don’t want to get complain because of remodeling property at school later on.” (Sirius)
　おそらく何もしなければ大丈夫だろうが、あれの性格から見て関わらないのは無理っぽい気がする。更に目をつけられ、建物を不法改造だとか適当な理由をでっちあげて追い出しかねないしな。せっかく整えた環境を壊されたくないので、学校長からお墨付きを貰っておきたい。
I think if Rodwell doesn’t do it, it’ll probably ok, but judging from his character, this request is not unreasonable. Moreover, if they look it with their eyes, they may come out with suitable reason of illegal remodeling and expel me out.

「わかりました、いずれ処分する建物でしたから貴方の住処として好きになさってください。学校からは不干渉だと命令書を回しておきましょう」
“Understood, since the building will be disposed eventually, please suit yourself. I’m going to circulate a non-intervention order from school.” (Rodwell)
「助かります」
“I’m saved.”
「いえいえ、私としては貴方が何をやるか興味深いですからね。ただ、警備や責任までは我々もあまり手が出せません。そこは了承してもらえますか？」
“No no, because for me, it’ll be interesting to see whatever you do. However, we can’t hold our hands out so much on either security or responsibility. Can you accept that?”
「問題ありません。色々仕掛ける予定ですし、そもそも平民だから盗られて困る物とかあまりないですからね」
“No problem. I will prepare various things and since I’m a commoner, a matter of getting things stolen is not a problem.” (Sirius)
「学校内で盗難があれば問題でしょうが、その時はしっかり報告をお願いします。ですが、あまりやり過ぎないでほしいものですが」
“It will be a problem if there is theft in the school, please report it properly. However, I don’t want you to overdoing it so much.” (Rodwell)
「善処します」
“I’ll act accordingly.” (Sirius)
　傍から見れば生徒と先生が仲良く話してる光景だろうが、内容はそれなりに黒い話ばかりだ。
When judging from the side, it is a sight of a student and a teacher having friendly talks, but the contents are not that clear.
　結論から言えば、あそこは俺の場所だから、アホな奴らが襲ってきても遠慮なく撃退しても問題無いですね？　と、約束を取り付けたわけだな。
As conclusion, since that place is mine, it’s not a problem to retaliate if there is a fool attacking without reserve, right? Anyway, it’s in the agreement. (TLN: because of the non-intervention order. It’s like saying‘If you dare to attack, I’ll screw you back’)
　早速今日から色々仕掛けてみようかね。死なない程度の罠って面倒だけど、計画的に設置するのは結構好きだからな。
Should I start prepare things immediately from today? I would like to prepare early because it’s troublesome to create a trap that doesn’t kill.

「シリウス様の住処となる建物には名前があるのでしょうか？」
“Is there a name for the building that becomes home for Sirius-sama?” (Emilia)
「いえ、特にありませんね。名前が無いと不便でしょうし、シリウス君が名づけられますか？」
“No, there’s nothing in particular. It will be inconvenient if there is no name, so Sirius-kun, what would you like it to be called?” (Rodwell)
「じゃあ……ダイア荘でお願いします」
“Well.. Diamond cottage (ダイア) please.” (Sirius)
「ほう？　その名前の由来はあるのですか？」
“Ooh? Is there any reason for that name?”
「ダイアモンドは無色ですが、価値のある宝石です。私もそれに肖りたいという単純な考えですよ」
“Diamond is colorless but it is a valuable jewel. It’s a simple idea that I want it.” (Sirius)
「悪くありませんね。ですが私はダイアなんか比較にならない程の価値をシリウス君は持っていると思っていますけどね。ではそのように申請しておきましょう。そうそう、貴方の担任は私の直属であるマグナ先生です。何かあれば彼を通じて私にお知らせください、それでは」
“It’s not bad. But I think that Sirius-kun worth is incomparable to diamond. Well then, I will put an official petition. Oh yeah, your homeroom teacher is Magna-sensei and he is directly under my supervision. If there is something, please tell about it through her, that’s all.” (Rodwell)
　ほとんど適当に名づけたのに、妙に感心されてあっさりと決定した。伝えるべきことを伝え、ヴィル先生は優雅に手を振って去るが、隣のエミリアはニコニコと笑って機嫌が良さそうだった。
Although to name it almost properly, you easily decided to be admired is strange.  After he tells what should be told, Vile-sensei waves his hand gracefully and leaves, and Emilia, who is next to me, smiled and seemed to be in good mood.

「どうしたんだ？　嬉しい話じゃなかったと思うんだが」
“What happened? I think that wasn’t pleasant talk.” (Sirius)
「いいえ、シリウス様をわかってらっしゃる御方がいるんだなと思いまして。ですが私からすれば、シリウス様に比べたらダイアなんか塵芥同然ですね」
“No, to think there is a person who understood about Sirius-sama. But if from me, when compared to Sirius-sama, garbage is no better, isn’t?” (Emilia)

　お前の中で俺はどんな存在なんだ？　と、聞いてみたくもあるが、わかりきった答えが返ってきそうなのでやめておく。

その後しばらく待っていると、人混みの中からレウスが飛び出し、満面の笑みで俺達に叫んでいた。
After waiting for a few moment, Reus is popping out of the crowd and screaming at us with smiling face.

「兄貴ーっ！　姉ちゃーんっ！　俺達皆一緒だよーっ！」
“Aniki! Onee-chan! We will be together (in the class)!”

それはよかった。しかし担任を知ってた点といい、この振り分けには学校長の指示があった気もするが、まあ三人一緒なら文句はあるまい。
That’s good. Though it’s a good thing to know the person in charge, it feels like there is an instruction coming from headmaster on class arrangement, oh well, since three of us will be together, I won’t have any complaint.

　飛び跳ねて喜ぶレウスを宥め、俺達は指定されたクラスへと向かうのだった。
I calm Reus who is so jumping delightfully, we go to the designated class.
　新入生は偉人の名前で名づけられた幾つかのクラスに分かれ、大体一クラスが三十人くらいで構成されている。俺達のクラス名はカラリスと言い、通称カラリス組と呼ばれるそうだ。
Freshmen are divided into several classes named of a great person and a class consists of around thirty students.
　教室は扇状の形をしており、奥の机ほど段差が高くなる前世の大学のような作りだ。すでに大半の人は教室入りしてるようで、廊下からでも騒がしい声が聞こえてくる。
The classroom is a fan shaped room, and the desks are made like a university in the previous existence where it’s one step higher compare to another.
　だが俺達が教室に入ると急に静かになった。いや、俺達というか俺だな。
But when we entered the classroom, it became quiet suddenly.

「へぇ……結構広い部屋なんだな。俺達はどこに座ればいいんだ姉ちゃん？」
“Hee…what a splendid and wide room. Where should we sit down, Onee-chan?” (Reus)
「どこでも良い筈よ。シリウス様、あの席が空いてますよ」
“Everywhere should be good. Sirius-sama, that seats are available.” (Emilia)

　静かになったのは一瞬だったので、二人は気にしないようして席へと向かう。
Although it was a moment that the class became quiet, those two don’t mind and just go to the seats.
　周囲の生徒は小声で話しているが、耳に届くのは無色だとか無能だとか俺に関する事ばかりだ。おそらく俺と一緒に受けた貴族から漏れたと思うが、いずればれる事だろうし気にすることはない。
The surrounding students are speaking in low voice, and what reach my ear is just about me being colorless and incompetent. I think it probably got leaked from the nobles who took the exam with me, but since it will get known eventually, I don’t worry about it.
　他にも身の程だとか、何故学校へ来たのかとか、俺が学校を堂々と歩くのに疑問が尽きないようだ。だが、俺が気にせずとも二人はそうはいかない。
Such questions like my social standing or how can I come to school, those are endless questions about me when come to school and walk openly.
「兄貴、ぶっ飛ばしてもいい？」
"Aniki, can I beat them?" (Reus)
「一度思い上がりというのをわからせた方がよろしいかと」
"It's all right, I understood after they say it once." (Emilia)
「はいはい、落ち着きなさいって。俺が気にしてないんだから、お前達も気にしなくてもいいんだよ」
"Yes, yes, please calm down. Since I'm not worry about it, you guys don't need to worry also." (Sirius)
　大体何で無色だけで小さく収まってなきゃならんのだ。魔法が使えないわけじゃないんだから、どーんと胸張ってりゃいいんだよ。
In the first place, why do it (as in insult) little only to colorless? Since magic isn't the reason why it can't be used, just throw it out of chest like a bamm and it's all good.
　適当に空いた席に座ると、渋々とだが俺の隣に座る姉弟。いつも何気なくやっているが俺を挟む場合は、右はレウスで左はエミリアと姉弟の絶対的な決まりがあるらしい。
When I take an available seat properly, the siblings sit down unwillingly next to me. There seems to be an absolute rule where Emilia will sit on my left and Reus is on my right, interposing me and they always doing it casually.
　俺達が座ると周囲の生徒達も談笑しながら座り始め、そろそろ規定の人数が揃いつつあった。
After we sat down, the surrounding students began to sit down while chatting, and before long, slowly it matches the specified number of students for this class.
　割合から見て人と獣人が半々といったところか？
Looking at the ratio of human to beastkin, is it half-and-half?
貴族らしき人もあまり見当たらないし、平民寄りの生徒を集めたクラスなのだろうか？
There are not many nobles can be found and the students who commoner are gathered in this class, I think?
　男女も半々だなと肘をついて担任の先生を待っていると、俺達の前に三人の男が現れた。正確に言えばエミリアの方で、中心にいる男がにこやかに話しかけてきたのだ。
Male and female ratio are also fifty-fifty, when they rest their elbows and waiting for the teacher in charge, three man appeared in front of us.

「失礼するが、そこの銀髪のお嬢さん。君の名前は何ていうのかな？」
"Excuse me, that lady with silver hair. What is your name?" (??)
「姉ちゃんに何のようだ？」
"Do you mean my sister?" (Reus)
「黙れ獣人が！　今はこちらのマーク様が話しておられるのだぞ！」
"Shut up, you beastkin! Right now, Mark-sama is speaking, don't interrupt!" (Servant)

　本人より早くレウスが噛み付くが、従者のような男に一喝されていた。
Reus was a bit earlier than the person himself, but he was scold by a man that looks like a servant.
　言い返そうとするレウスを宥めつつ男達を観察してみると、三人は俺達と同年代に近い男達である。だが中心の赤髪の男はイケメンで気品があり、おそらくど こかの貴族に違いあるまい。しかし赤髪の男は落ち着きを払っているが、背後に控える従者二人は完全に俺達を見下した態度である。
While calming Reus that tries to retort, I observe that we and those three are almost at same age. Nevertheless, the red hair man at center is elegance good looking man, and it won't probably different with other nobles. The man with red hair display a calm pose, but the two furious servants at the back are despising us completely.

「落ち着け、僕の従者たるもの気品は忘れるな。それでお嬢さん、名前を教えていただけないかな？」
"Settle down, my servants forget about being elegance. So, would you kindly tell me your name, Ojou-san (young lady)?" (Mark)

　エミリアはこちらを伺ってきたので、俺は好きにしろと頷いておいた。
Since Emilia is looking to me, I gave a nod, hinting her to do whatever she wants.

「私の名前はエミリアと申します。失礼ですがどちら様でしょうか？」
"My name is Emilia. Excuse me, but who are you?" (Emilia)
「貴様ぁ！　マーク様を知らぬとは不届きな！」
"You bastard! It's rude not to know who is Mark-sama!" (Servant)
「落ち着け。僕の名前はマーク・ホルティア。誇りあるホルティア家の次男で、いずれ名誉貴族となる者だ」
"Calm down. My name is Mark Holtia. I am the second son of proud Holtia family who will become respected noble eventually." (Mark)
　マークと名乗った男は優雅に一礼した。ふむ、従者はともかくこの男は礼節を重んじているようだ。今まで出会った貴族はほぼ驕る連中ばかりだったから、こういう相手は珍しい。
The man who introduced himself as Mark bowed gracefully. Hmmm, unlike his servants, this man seems to esteem politeness. Since the nobles who we have met so far are mostly arrogant, this one is unusual.

「そのマーク様が私に何用でしょう？」
"What kind of business do you have with me, Mark-sama?" (Emilia)
「エミリア……とても可愛らしい名前だな。そしてその輝く銀髪、君はとても美しい。よければ僕の従者になってもらえないだろうか？」
"Emilia......it's very pretty name. And that brilliant silvery hair, you are very beautiful. Would you like to become my attendant?" (Mark)
「お断りします」
"I refuse." (Emilia)
「獣人如きがマーク様直々に勧誘ー……何だと？」
"Mark-sama is give a direct invitation to beastkin..., what did you say?" (Follower)
「ですから、お断りします」
"So, I refuse." (Emilia)

　従者達が言い終わる前に、エミリアは見事な営業スマイルで即断していた。
Before the servants finished speaking, Emilia decided on the spot by splendid business-like smile.

「調子に乗りおって。マーク様、ここは無理矢理でも立場というのを思い知らせてやりましょう」
"Deciding in spur of moment... Mark-sama, let's make them realize that compulsion is called a viewpoint here." (Servants)

「ふぅ……君達は黙っていたまえ。簡単にいかないとは思っていたが、理由を聞いてもいいかな？」
"Fuuu...you guys, be silent! I thought it won't go easily but may I know the reason?" (Mark)
「私はすでに生涯お仕えする御方がいらっしゃいます。ですのでお断りしました」
"There is already a person whom I will serve for the rest of my life. Since that being the case, I refused." (Emilia)
「君の主人は……隣にいる彼のことかい？」
"Is your master... the one who next to you?" (Mark)
「はい、その通りです。私のご主人様であらせられるシリウス様です」
"Yes, that's right. Sirius-sama is my master." (Emilia)
　両手で崇め立てるように俺を呼ぶエミリアに、マークは探るような目つきでこちらを見るので軽く会釈しておいた。
Emilia called me to stand and revered both of her hands, and Mark is judging this by how it look, he looks at me and give a slight bow.

「君が彼女の主人なのかい？　失礼だがどこの貴族か教えていただけると嬉しいのだが」
"Are you her master? Excuse me, please tell me which noble are you, I will accept it and be happy." (Mark)
「私は貴族ではありません。彼女は自主的に私を主と呼び慕ってくれているのです」
"I am not a noble. She yearns for me voluntarily and called me master."
「平民のくせに主人気取りだと？　ふざけた事をぬかしてないで、早くこの娘へ命令してマーク様に献上するのだ！」
"The affection towards master is commoner's habit? Don't joke around, give an order fast to this girl and present it to Mark-sama!" (Servant)
「待て、よく考えたらこいつ、噂の無色じゃないか？」
"Wait, think about it, isn't this guy the rumored colorless?" (Mark?)
　その言葉に周囲がざわめいた。俺が噂の無色か聞きたくても、初対面ゆえに周囲の人達も聞くに聞けなかったのだろう。正にこの従者の質問は教室の総意だったに違いあるまい。教室中の視線と耳がこちらへと集まっているのがわかった。
That word stirred the surrounding. I want to hear rumor about me being colorless too, but I think surrounding people are not listening clearly because of first meeting (in class). But I understood, when the students are looking and listening to us here.

「そうですね、噂かどうか知りませんが、私は無色ですが何か？」
"That's right, I am not aware about rumor or anything but I'm colorless, so what about it?" (Sirius)
「はん、マーク様はすでに『火槍(フレイムランス)』を習得なされているのだぞ。初級すら満足に出来ぬ無能が何故このような場所にいるのだ！」
"Hah, Mark-sama already have learned [Flame Lance]. Why there is a incompetent which can't even do beginner level (of magic) satisfactorily at such place!" (Servant)
「大方袖の下を握らせたのだろう。いや、そのような金など持っておらぬか」
"I think maybe he put money under the table. Do you have such money?" (??)
　俺の両隣から殺気が溢れ出しているが、目の前の従者達はまったく気付く様子が無い。二人の頭を押さえつけながら、俺は目の前の従者達を蔑むように見た。
A thirst of blood are overflowing from both my side but the servants don't really notice the situation. While I hold down their (Emilia and Reus') heads, I am openly despised in the eyes' of these servants.

「そちらのマーク様に言われるならともかく、従者である君達に言われる筋合いは無いと思うんだが？」
"Unless, if this Mark-sama says about it, I think you guys as a servants have no right to say anything?" (Emilia)

「何だと貴様！　我々は従者であるが、貴族でもあるのだぞ？」
"What did you say, bastard! Although we're a servant, don't you know that we're a noble?" (Servants)

「『火槍(フレイムランス)』が使えないと入学できないわけじゃあるまいし、それに使えるのは君達じゃなくて自分達の主人だろう？」
"Even if [Flame Lance] is not usable, it won't be the reason that my master can't enter the school, in addition, what's the use of it if it's not for the master?" (Emilia)

「従者が主の素晴らしさを語って何が悪い。我々はマーク様の絶対たる従者なのだぞ！」
"What's so bad about telling wonderful things about your master? We are the servant of Mark-sama forever!"
「その絶対たる従者様が、主の命令を聞けないってどういう事だ？　さっきマーク様は言っていたよな、君達は黙っていたまえ……と」
"An absolute servants who can't follow the master's order, what kind of thing is that? Mark-sama was telling about it a short while ago, you guys, be silent...and..." (Emilia)

　俺の言葉に従者二人は反論できず、憎らしそうに睨んでくるだけだった。
Those two (Mark's) servants are unable to rebut, so they can only stared hatefully.

「そこまでだ。彼の言う通り、君達は従者以前に貴族の何たるかを理解していないようだ」
"That's it. As she what she said, you guys don't seem to understand the servants' noble." (Mark)

「ですがマーク様、このような下郎にここまで言われて黙っていられませぬ」
"But Mark-sama, they call us a lowly servant here and you can't be silent." (Servant)
「僕から見てもお前達の言動は酷すぎるし、彼が怒るのは当然であろう。父親の命令とはいえ僕の従者となったのだ。これ以上の醜態を晒すのはやめたまえ」
"Even if I look at this, your behavior is too harsh and it is natural for her to be angry. These servants are from my house and they are under my father's order. Please stop with the disgraceful behavior." (Mark)

　流石に主人にそう言われては何も言えないようで、二人は渋々後ろに下がった。
As expected of one’s master, the two servants couldn’t say anything and they just follow him unwillingly.
　ふむ、身内だろうと公平に判断し叱りつけるとは、礼節だけではなくしっかりした人格者のようだ。今回は明らかにあいつらの言い方が悪かったのもあるが。
Hmmm, it seems that he is civilized man that can judge and scold his own servants. This time, it is obvious that they were the one who spoke poorly.

「僕の従者が申し訳なかったねシリウス君。言い訳するわけではないが、彼等は従者として最近来たばかりなのだ。大目に見てやってほしい」
“I’m sorry about my servants, Sirius-kun. This is not an excuse but they just come recently to serve me as a servant. I would like you to forgive them.” (Mark)

「問題ありませんよ。ただ、私はともかくこの二人は止まらない可能性があるので、気をつけていただきたいですね」
“It’s not a problem. But, I would like you to take care of them because there is possibility that those two don’t stop themselves from repeating it.” (Sirius)
　会話中もずっと頭を撫でていたので、二人はすでに怒りを忘れて嬉しそうに尻尾を振っていた。こんな緩い顔した二人が、ほんの数秒前まで殺気を出していたとは思うまい。
I stroked their head while I was in a conversation, so they have already forgotten their anger and waving their tail happily. Those two are having loose face, and you wouldn’t think that they were putting out a thirst of blood until several seconds ago.

「善処させてもらう。それではそろそろ先生が来るようなので失礼するよ」
“Get your act together. Well then, since a teacher will come, please excuse us.” (Mark)
「エミリアはもうよろしいのですか？」
“Is Emilia fine with this?” (Sirius)
「すでに心を誓った主がいる従者を無理矢理とは僕の誇りが許さん。いずれ有名になり、君以上に魅了できたらまた勧誘させてもらうさ」
“I have decided already that to take servant who has master by force, my pride won’t allow it.” (Mark)
　イケメンは言動も行動も格好良いな。ローブをマントのように翻し、少し離れた席に優雅に座ると、従者達も倣うように隣に座っている。去り際に従者達は俺を睨んでいたが、あれは後で主人に説教受けそうだな。
This good looking man’s behavior and words are cool huh. I change the robe to become like a mantle and take a seat that is separated a bit from other seats, and my servants followed me and seat next to me.

「私はシリウス様以外に魅了なんかされませんよ〜」
“I won’t be attracted to anyone else except Sirius-sama.” (Emilia)

「俺も兄貴についていくよ〜」
“I follow Aniki too.” (Reus)
　しまった、撫で過ぎて言動までフニャフニャになっていた。とりあえず他所で見せる顔じゃないので、頭を軽く叩いて再起動させたと同時に、教室のドアが開いて担任の先生が現れた。
Oh dear, as a result of stroking too much, their speech and conduct become limp. For the time being, since not showing face elsewhere, the homeroom teacher appeared at the same time as he bows his head lightly and begins the class,

「皆さん揃っておられるようですね。私がこのカラリス組の担任になるマグナです。よろしくお願いします」

　面接の時にも見たが、彼は茶髪で学校指定のローブに黄色い線の入ったマントを身に付ける四十代の男性だった。学校長程ではないが、年季が入った雰囲気を醸し出しており、熟練であると思わせる威圧感を放ちつつ教室へ入ってきた。
He was seen during the interview, he is a brown-haired man in forties wearing a mantle that contains yellow lines on a robe with school designation. It wasn’t at principal’s degree but he was displaying a seasoned atmosphere while entering the classroom, giving overpowering impression which makes somebody to believe that he has a skill.

「私の事はいずれ語るとして、まずは長く付き合うとなるクラスメイトの紹介からするべきだろうね。そこの一番前にいる猫の獣人君、君から名前と種族や簡単な紹介をお願いするよ」
“Before I talk about myself, First of all, I guess it should be a long introduction of classmate.” (Magna)
「は、はい！」
“Yes, yes!” (Students)

　それから一人一人、順番に自己紹介が始まった。
After that, self introduction is done one by one in order.
　様々な種族や学校へ来た理由、それこそ多種多様な話が聞けて面白かった。そして俺達の順番が回ってくる。
The reason I have come to school is because there are various races, and it was interesting to listen to various story. Then, our turns are coming.

「レウスです。種族は銀狼族で、隣にいるシリウス様の従者をやっています。特技は剣で属性は炎です。よろしくお願いします」
“I am Reus. My race is silver wolf and I am a servant of the person who is next to me, Sirius-sama. I am specialized in swordsmanship and my attribute is flame (炎 = honou).” (Reus)

　何を言うか心配だったが、先に話した人のを参考に無難な紹介で済ませたようだ。
I was worried about what to say, but they seem to finish introducing themselves safely by referring to previous students’ introduction.

　俺はシリウス様の従者だから、馬鹿にしたら斬るからな！　……とか言い出しそうで怖かった。まばらながら拍手が起きて、それなりに歓迎はされているようだ。続いて俺だ。
Because ‘I am Sirius-samas servant’, I am going to beat you fool! …or something like that, I am afraid they are going to say it. Although the clasp was sparse, it seems to welcome in its own way. Next is me.

「シリウスです。種族は人族で、皆さんが知っての通り私の属性は無属性です。将来の専攻は魔法陣を研究し、魔法技師の分野に進みたいと思っています」
“I am Sirius. My race is human and as everyone knows, my attribute is non-attribute. I would like to study in magic formation and magic engineering field in the future.” (Sirius)
　そこで一礼すると、周囲の反応はどうするべきか悩んでいる様子だった。そこにマグナ先生が手を叩き、全員の注目を己に集めた。
So when I bowed, the surrounding reaction was the state which worries about how to react (on the fact being colorless).

「彼については私から補足があります。私は彼の面接を審査した一人ですが、実際に見て学校に相応しい実力を持っていると我々は判断しました。初級魔法も出来ますし、属性に拘らず彼を見てあげてほしいですね」
“There is additional information from me about him. I was one who examined his interview, we determined that he has enough merit to be accepted in this school. He can do beginner magic, in spite of no attribute, you want to see it, right?” (Magna)
　そして手を差し出し、自己紹介の続きを促した。ありがたいんだが注目されると何か恥ずかしいな。とりあえず俺の紹介は終ったので、エミリアの番となった。
And he held out his hand, suggesting the continuation of self-introduction. I am grateful but when I ‘m watched, I’m somewhat embarrassed. My introduction had ended for now, so it was Emilia’s turn.
　彼女は優雅に立ち上がり一礼して微笑むと、周囲の男女が魅了されたように釘付けとなっていた。相変わらず見事な作法だ。母さんの教育を受けた彼女なら安心して見ていられるよ。
When she smiled to stand up and bow gracefully, surrounding boys and girls were charmed. Splendid manners as expected. As for her who received Kaa-san’s (Erina’s) education, it looks like she had piece of mind.

「エミリアと申します。属性は風で、弟のレウスと共にシリウス様の従者をしております。ご主人様には身も心も捧げておりますので、皆様、ご了承くださいませ」
“I am Emilia. I am a servant of Sirius-sama, together with my younger brother, Reus, and my attribute is wind. Since my body and heart are being devoted to my master, everyone, please acknowledge this.” (Emilia)

　まさかのエミリアによる爆弾！？
This is really a ‘bomb’announcement by Emilia!?
　周囲がざわざわと動揺する中、彼女だけは笑みを浮かべて誇らしげに立っていた。
The surrounding becomes noisy, but she just put up a smile and stood up proudly.
　何故こんな発言をしたのか？
Why did you make such remark?
　そうか、これはきっと彼女なりの牽制なのだ。無色の俺だけじゃなく、自分も注目されることにより俺への負担を減らそうとしているのだ。何と健気な忠誠心。俺は素晴らしい従者を持ったものだ。
Is that so, I’m sure of her restraint. It’s not only about me being colorless, she’s trying to attract attention and reduce the burden that I have on me. She’s very brave and loyal. I had a wonderful servant.

「ふふ……これで私はシリウス様の物だと公言できましたね」
“Huhu… I guess I could I was able to admit about Sirius-sama here.

　そうだと思ったよ！
I thought it was!
　まあ最初から変に取り繕うより、曝け出していた方が変な輩も寄ってこないだろう……多分。
Well, rather than being cover up awkwardly from the beginning, it is better to expose it so that strange fellows wouldn’t get even closer…maybe.
　それからエミリア以上の爆弾発言は無く、クラス全体の自己紹介は無難に終えた。その頃には休憩時間となり、マグナ先生が教室を出ると同時に俺達の元へ数人の男女が集まっていた。
After Emilia, there are no bomb remarks, and the self-introduction of the whole class has been finished early. As soon as the break time starts, several boys and girls are gathered to our area and at the same time, Magna-sensei leaves the class.

「ねえねえ、貴方無色って本当なの？」
“Hey, is that true thatyou are colorless?” (??)
「適性が無いって大変だったんだろ？　どんな修練していたんだよ」
“I think it’s hard when you don’t have aptitudes? What kind of training did you do?” (??)
「エミリアの銀髪綺麗ね。肌も綺麗だし、女として羨ましいわ」
“Emilia’s silvery hair is beautiful. Your skin is also beautiful, and it is enviable as woman.” (??)
「さっきの身も心もってどういう事！？　奴隷なの？」
“What do you mean by that body and mind!? Are you a slave?” (??)
「お前剣が得意なんだろ？　今度実習があったら俺と勝負してくれよ」
“You’re good at sword? If there is training later, fight me.” (??)
　平民が多いせいか、好奇心が強い子が多いようだ。一部の貴族や、遠巻きに眺めている人もいるが、何だかんだで注目されている俺達は次々と浴びせられる質問を適当に答えていった。
It seems there are a lot of strong children with curiosity maybe because there are lots of commoners. There are some nobles looking from surrounding distance, but somehow observing us, while we had to give suitable answer one by one to their questions.
　どうやら俺は無色なのに血の滲むような修練を重ね、ようやく学校に入学できた努力の人と思われたようだ。まあ血の滲む訓練はしてたから間違いではないけどね。
Apparently, even being a colorless, I am thought as a person who piled the training till I bleed my blood over and finally get to enroll in school.
　今日は初日なので授業は行われず、マグナ先生による学校の細かい教育課程や施設の説明だけで終った。もう少し経てば夕方の鐘が鳴る時間だろうか？
Since today is the first day, there is no lesson and it ended after small explanation on curriculum and facilities at school by Magna-sensei. If we wait for a few minute, is it going to be the time when a bell in the evening rings?
先生が教室を出ると皆緊張を解いて、食事をどうするかと話しながら各人思い思いの行動をとっていた。
When the teacher goes out of classroom, everyone relaxes, while we talk about what to eat, everyone else is doing as they please.
　ちなみに朝と昼御飯は学校の食堂で食べるが、夕御飯は食堂だけでなく学生寮に戻って自炊するなり、町に出て食べるなりと比較的に自由である。
By the way, I have a breakfast and lunch at school’s dining room, not only can have supper at school but also can cook in the dorm or eating in the town, so it’s relatively flexible.

「シリウス様、本日の予定はどうされるのですか？」
“Sirius-sama, how about today’s schedule?” (Emilia)
「そうだねぇ。片付いていない部屋の掃除と施設の充実かな？」
“Well. I wonder should we clean untidy room or improve the house’s facilities?” (Sirius)
　自分の部屋と台所は問題無いが、空いた部屋の利用法やお風呂も作りたいと思っているのでやる事は多い。当然エミリアも付いてくると思うのだが、彼女は申し訳無さそうに頭を下げてきた。
Although, the room and kitchen are no problem, I’d like to utilize available room, make a bathroom, so there are a lot of things need to be done. I think Emilia will follow naturally but she lowered her head, it doesn’t seem like she’s trying to apologize.

「申し訳ありません。一度部屋に戻って荷物とリースがいるか確認したいので、少し遅れると思います」
“I’m sorry. I have to go back to my room at once since I have to confirm about luggage and Reese, so I think I will be a little late.” (Emilia)
「気にするな。先に行ってレウスとのんびりやるさ、なあ？」
“Don’t’ mind it. I’ll go first, take your time and do it with Reus.” (Sirius)
「兄貴！　すまねえ！」
“Aniki! I’m sorry!” (Reus)
　声をかけた瞬間、レウスは思い切り蚊を叩き潰すかのように合掌し謝ってきた。ふむ、土下座しなかっただけマシか。
The instant he said it, joined his hands together like hitting mosquito as hard as possible and apologized. You better not kneeling down on the grown?

「どうしたレウス？」
"What happened Reus?" (??)
「俺もすぐ行きたいんだけど、あいつらが誘ってきたから断りきれなかったんだ」
"I'd like to go right now too, since those guys had invited me, I couldn't decline." (Reus)
　レウスを呼ぶ声に視線を向ければ、数人の獣人が木剣を片手に手を振っていた。レウスの謝罪と状況から見るに彼は模擬戦に誘われたようだ。良い傾向じゃないか。
When I turn my sight at the voice that called Reus, sevaral beastkin were waving their hand with wooden sword in their hand.

「俺以外じゃなくて他の人達との交流も大切だからな。気にせず行って来い」
"Interacting with other people other than me is also important. Don't worry about it, just go."
「わかったよ兄貴。全員秒殺してすぐ向かうから！」
"Understood, Aniki. I'll go immediately and beat all of them!" (Reus)
「いや、そんなに急がなくてものんびりやってこい。あと、手加減忘れるなよ」
"No, you don't have to rush, just go along leisurely." (Sirius)
「わかったぜ！」
"Understood!"

　本当にわかっているのかね？

待っている獣人達と合流し、楽しそうに談笑しながらレウスは教室を出て行く。エミリアも急ぎ足で続き、俺が一人になると帰ろうとするマークに声をかけられた。二人の従者が居ないようだが、俺と一緒ですな。
Reus joins the beastkin who had waited, and goes out of the classroom while having a fun with friendly chats. Emilia too continued in a quick pace, and when I became alone and ready to go home, I got called by Mark.

「シリウス君も帰るのかい？」
"Are you going to go back too?" (Mark)
「マーク様？　ええ、その通りですよ」
"Mark-sama? Yeah, that's right." (Sirius)
「はは、貴族とはいえここでは平等な筈だろう？　先ほどは言い損ねたが、普通に話してくれると嬉しい」
"Haha, yes, I am a noble but here, everyone is equal here, don't you agree? I miss a chance to say this a short while ago, I'm happy when you speak casually." (Mark)
「わかった。ことろでマーク様、あの従者達はどうしたんだ？」
"Understood. By the way Mark-sama, what happened to your servants?" (Sirius)
「様もいらぬよ。緊急の用事があるらしく先に帰ったのだ。何とも怪しかったが、後で問い詰めておこうと思う」
"I don't need to be called 'sama'. There are some urgent business so they returned earlier. It's nothing suspicious but I think I'll ask question later." (Mark)
「何と言うか、大変なんだなマークも。失礼かもしれないが、どうしてあんな連中を従者にしているんだ？」
"How to say this, I guess Mark also have hard time. This might be rude, but why those guys become your servant?" (Sirius)
　絶対たる従者だとか言っていたが、台詞と行動がちぐはぐ過ぎる。偉そうなだけでとても従者に見えないあいつらを、何故引き連れているのだろうか？
Although he said, they are absolutely serving servants, his words and behavior are too inconsistent. Why he didn't take them along, the very self-important servant, with him?


「彼等は我がホルティア家に連なる貴族だが、階級はかなり下なので長男に次ぐ跡継ぎである私に取り入ろうとしたのだろう。親から言われて渋々私の従者をやっているのさ」
"Those guys are extended nobles of Holtia family, but their rank is quite low, so they want to make up favor with me, who is an inheritor following eldest son. The instruction came from my father, and my servants were sent unwillingly to me." (Mark)

「おいおい、聞いた俺が言うのもなんだが、そんな身内話を平民である俺にしていいのかよ？」
"Oi oi, what are you talking and make me heard, is it alright to let commoner like me to hear talks about your family?" (Sirius)
「構わぬよ。あのような品性の無い者に慈悲など与えぬ。目をつけられたようだが、何かあったらすぐに報告してくれ。然るべき処置を下す」
"I don't mind. Mercy isn't given to a person who doesn't have such character. They seems to be keeping an eye, but if there is something, please report it immediately. Make a proper decision." (Mark)
「わかった、そうさせてもらうよ。それじゃあ、また明日な」
"Understood, I'll do that. Well then, see you tomorrow." (Mark)
「ああ、また明日」
"Aaa, see you tomorrow."
　彼とは良い友人になれそうだ。手を振って見送り、俺も立ち上がって住処であるダイア荘に向かって歩き出した。
It's likely for me to become a good friend with him. I wave my hand and see him off, then I also begin to stand up and walk to Diamond cottage which is my home.

　ダイア荘まで少し距離がある。
There is quite a distance to Diamond cottage.
　一気に走り抜けてもいいんだが、二人は遅れるようだし、急ぐ理由もないのでのんびりと歩いていた。
Even though it's good to run through quickly, the two siblings are seems to be late and since I don't have any reason to hurry, I'll just walk leisurely.
　最近一人になる事が多いが、あいつらにとっては良い傾向なんだ。少し寂しさを覚えつつも歩いて学生寮を抜けた直後、俺は違和感を覚えて立ち止まっていた。
It's been many times for me to be alone, but that's a good trend for those guys. Even though I feel a little bit lonely, after walking through a student dormitory, I felt uncomfortable and stopped.

「そこで止まれ、無能」
"Incompetent, stop over there." (??)
　道から外れた一本の木から二人の男が現れて立ち塞がった。どこのどいつかと思えば、マークの従者である二人じゃないか？
Two men appeared from one of the tree and blocked the road. If I recall where and when, aren't they Mark's servant?

「何か用？　俺今から帰るんだけど？」
"What is it? But I'm going home now?" (Sirius)
「ちょっと用があってな。向こうに人通りが少ない場所があるんだが、ついて来い！」
"We still have some business with you. There is unfrequented place on the other side, come with us!" (Mark's servants)

　わお……凄く偉そうな上に命令口調だ。
Waaa.....the instruction tone is very bossy.
　何々？　人通り少ない所に引っ張ってカツアゲですか？
What? I am pulled to an unfrequented place and is this like being threatened for money? (TLN: Author used word of KATSUAGE, a slang usually used among bad senior high school kids)
俺ジャンプしてもお金の音なんかしませんよ？
Even if I jump, you won't hear any sound of money you know?

「面倒だなぁ……」
"This is troublesome..." (Sirius)
「黙れ無能が！　さっさと来るんだ！」
"Silent, you incompetent! Come here quickly!"

　早くも怒り気味なので、とりあえず大人しく二人の後に続いた。
Since these two already snapped, I just follow them quietly for the time being.
　そこは木々に囲まれた場所だが、数人が動けるくらいの空間があった。道から逸れてそれほど距離はないが、覗こうと思わなければ人は訪れない場所だろう。
That place is a place surrounded by trees, but there is a space which several people can move to certain extent. Although, there is not so much distances from the main road, if people don't think about looking, this place won't be looked at all.

「それで、ここまで来て何なのさ？」
"Well, I came here, so what is it?" (Sirius)
「お前のせいで俺達はマークの野郎に怒られたんだよ！　従者だとか貴族のあり方とか長々と語りやがって！」
"Because of you, we got scold by that bastard, Mark! Tell us in lengthy about servant and way of nobles!" (Servant-1)
「俺達は貴族なんだ！　いくら上とはいえ、同じ年齢のあいつに頭を下げるなんて嫌なんだよ！」
"We're a nobles! Say what you want, and its unpleasant to lower our head to that fellow of the same age!" (Servant-2)
　それを俺に言われても困る。こいつら妙に芝居臭いとは思っていたが、優れた従者を演じていただけなのか。内心はマークへの反発で埋め尽くされているわけね。
Even if you say that to me, I am troubled. I thought these to be some sort of strange and fishy play, but does it mean they want to be excellent servant?

「そういうのは本人に言え。俺は関係ないだろ」
"Ask that to the person himself. It doesn't matter to me." (Sirius)
「大有りだ。お前からあの獣人をマークの所に行くように命令しろ！」
"It matters. Those beastkin will go to Mark's place if there is an order from you!" (Servant-1)
「あいつが獣人に興味を持つのは珍しいからな。無能だが、機嫌取りくらい出来るだろ？」
"It is unusual for that person to be interested in beastkin. I am incompetent but somehow I want to please him, don't you agree?" (Servant-2)
　てっきり腹いせで殴りたいだけかと思いきや、そういう訳か。だけど、お前らの命令なんか聞く耳すらもたんよ。
I was certain these guys only want to get their revenge. Is it because of that?  However, you guys order is something that I can't fulfill.
「お断りだ。彼女が選んだ道を俺の都合で曲げたくないね」
"I refuse. I do not want to change the path she chose for my convenience." (Sirius)
「はん、無理矢理でも聞いてもらうぜ」
"Mr., make her hear this against her will." (Servants)
　背後の木から二人増員された。ふむ、見た目からして目の前の二人と同じレベルの貴族か従っている平民だろうか？
The number of people increased by two and they were coming from behind the trees.　Hmmm, from making appearance, in front of those two, same level with nobles, to be obeyed by commoner, I think?
それなりに鍛えている体つきで、手には木剣を握っており、多人数で囲んでいるというのに全く罪悪感を感じず笑う姿からこいつらと同類ってのはわかる。
I Look at their trained body and holding wooden sword on hands, while being surrounded by many people. It seems they really have no feeling of guilt based on laughing figure of these guys, And, I understand the same kind of people.

「どうだ？　今すぐ謝って、あの亜人をマークの野郎へ連れて行くと約束すれば殴るだけで済ませるぜ？」
"How about it now? Now apologize, if you promise to take that demi-human to Mark, we are done here after beating you?
「ふーん……」
"Hmmm..."

　あの子を亜人と……そう呼んだなお前？
You called that child...demi-human?

「さあどうする……って、何をやってんだ？」
"Well, how about this....what are you doing?" (??)
「見てわからんか？　準備運動だ」
"Don't you understand by looking? I'm warming up." (Sirius)
　そもそも無理矢理脅迫するなら、話してないでまず殴るなりして行動不能にしろと思う。準備運動をぼんやりと眺めている時点で、彼等は戦闘経験が皆無と判断できる。
I think if in the first place you force intimidation, I'm not going to speak and just hit first. I can conclude that they have no experience in battle because they look at me absentmindedly while I was warming up.

「おい、まさかやりあう気じゃねえだろうな？」
"Oi, I don't have to argue with words, don't you agree?" (Sirius)
「たった一人でやるってのか？　いや、流石は無能だな。考える事が違うねぇ」
"Just doing it with one person? Yea, he's incompetent indeed. I think it's different." (??)
　貴族を敵に回すと後になって色々問題になるから関わりたくなかったが、こいつらはすでにマークも見限っているっぽいし、倒しても大した問題になるまい。
Although I did not want to get involved since it will become various problems later when you become the enemy of nobles, but these guys have turned their back to Mark, so beating them won't become much of a problem.

「そんじゃま、遠慮なくやらせていただきますか」
"Don't be a hindrance, just let me do this freely?" (??)

　低俗な笑いを浮かべる男達を眺めつつ、俺は静かに拳を握った。
I was quitely holding a fist while looking at the man who put a vulgar laugh.
