  1. Help on farming:
  2. ----------------------------------
  3. The art of farming on Genova was first discovered and taught by burzums, who took up peaceful methods and formed the first prototypes of society amidst carnivorous and cannibalistic brethren of similar ability.
  4.
  5. But to you, it's a reliable source of food that doesn't have to involve killing things.
  6.
  7. The first thing to understand is that plants are usually dotted around the wilderness. These operate at low capacity due to their simple existence, as opposed to being in an optimal environment for growth and production of offspring. Other than threshing them for fibers if that's possible, or chopping them down in the case of trees, there isn't much you can do with them unless you need to start a fire *now*.
  8.
  9. You can usually get seeds by letting produce such as fruit or vegetables rot, or you can eat them for the same effect. These can be planted in tilled plots; if none are around, you could attempt to make one with a simple digging implement. A hoe is best for this purpose but a repurposed stick will work if your character doesn't know what a hoe or other modern tool is.
  10.
  11. In farm plots, plants must worry about water. Rain can cover this, but if it does not, you will have to water the plot manually. You can do this with any liquid container that you're holding. Using anything except water might not be smart.
  12.
  13. The amount of saturation a plot needs depends on the amount of plants in that plot. The same amount of water will count for less total saturation if there are two plants to suck it up as opposed to one. Thus more plants in a plot at once demands more upkeep, but simply pouring water does not exert much effort; thus with a steady supply of moisture mass production is simple. (Until you're encountered by people with more influence and/or combative strength than you.)
  14.
  15. Wild beasts, thieves, beggars, and close friends will steal from you the most often in varying intensities and in that order. What's more, farmers aren't taken seriously by people who think they're more sophisticated. Defend your crops with your life if you must.
