  1. The Book of Samuel the Lamanite
  2.
  3. --------------------Chapter 1--------------------
  4.
  5. Traditionally composing of Helaman 13-15
  6.
  7. Samuel the Lamanite goes to the City of Zarahemla and tells the Nephites to give up their immoral behaviors before they start to feel the negative consequences.
  8.
  9. 1 In the 86th year of the reign of the judges the Nephites were still an immoral people while the Lamanites were firm in their commitment to living moral lives.
  10.
  11. 2 In this year there was a Lamanite named Samuel that decided to go teach morality to the people in the Land of Zarahemla.
  12.
  13. 3 He taught morality for many days, but was eventually thrown out of the City of Zarahemla.
  14.
  15. 4 He was about to return to his home, defeated, when he decided that he felt like he hadn't accomplished his mission.
  16.
  17. 5 Samuel decided not to go back into the city, but to climb up on the walls of the city and address it as a whole.
  18.
  19. 6 Samuel said to the City of Zarahemla:
  20.
  21. 7 "I, Samuel, am a Lamanite.
  22.
  23. 8 I have come to teach you lessons of morality because I fear for my brothers and sisters, the Nephites.
  24.
  25. 9 I do this because you are filled with pride, stubbornness, envy, fighting, grudges, persecutions, murders, and all other immoralities!
  26.
  27. 10 Our immoral ancestors admitted when they were filled with pride when it was shown to them and gave it up.
  28.
  29. 11 You are more immoral than our ancestors, because you justify inflicting suffering on others.
  30.
  31. 12 Today the cities of Zarahemla and Gideon are epicenters for immorality that exists in all of the Republic of Zarahemla.
  32.
  33. 13 The Ammonites now flee from the Nephites because of their immorality and once again consider themselves Lamanites.
  34.
  35. 14 They are the peaceful Lamanites that buried their weapons of war and sought refuge among the moral Nephites because they resolved never to harm another person again.
  36.
  37. 15 They came to you because of your morality, and now they flee you because of your immorality.
  38.
  39. 16 I fear that if you do not turn away from immorality, you will completely destroy yourselves.
  40.
  41. 17 Your lands will be war torn and scattered with unburied fallen soldiers.
  42.
  43. 18 Your crops and houses will be burned down by those seeking to harm you.
  44.
  45. 19 You will not be able to feed your family and they will starve because of the famines that you have caused.
  46.
  47. 20 You will try to run away from it, but there will be nowhere to run.
  48.
  49. 21 There will be no safety until the immoral have had enough of the suffering and want to live happy, moral lives.
  50.
  51. 22 When this happens, they will wish they had done so sooner to avoid all the suffering they had caused.
  52.
  53. 23 I tried to teach you this simple lesson, but you exiled me!
  54.
  55. 24 I have taught you these things even though I am a Lamanite.
  56.
  57. 25 As a Lamanite, my people's history is full of examples of the suffering that living an immoral life causes.
  58.
  59. 26 However, the Lamanites now strive every day to choose the right and live moral lives.
  60.
  61. 27 How is it that the Lamanites now have to come teach morality to the Nephites?
  62.
  63. 28 You were the ones that taught us morality!
  64.
  65. 29 You have given up immorality because of the flattering promises of teachers of immorality.
  66.
  67. 30 How long will you continue to be lead by idiots?
  68.
  69. 31 How long will you choose darkness rather than light?
  70.
  71. 32 If you do not turn away from your immoral behaviors, you will start to see their severely negative consequences.
  72.
  73. 33 I know that you are angry with me because what I have taught you is difficult to accept, and many of you will want to kill me.
  74.
  75. 34 However, you will hear my lessons on morality!
  76.
  77. 35 To do all I can to help you, I must stay and teach these lessons, even in the face of death.
  78.
  79. 36 I will stay on this wall until I am finished and I will not be moved.
  80.
  81. 37 I want you to live happy lives and leave behind good legacies for your descendants.
  82.
  83. 38 If you turn away from your immoral lifestyles, you can still leave behind a good legacy.
  84.
  85. 39 We have the ability to do wonderful things for one another.
  86.
  87. 40 I am happy that there are some within this city that secretly strive to live moral lives and are wonderful people.
  88.
  89. 41 These are the people you should look to as role models for living happy lives.
  90.
  91. 42 Listen to the people who teach you morality instead of mocking, exiling, and killing them.
  92.
  93. 43 When you hurt others, you are only hurting yourself.
  94.
  95. 44 We are all connected, and we should all be kind to those we have a connection with, because a part of ourselves is with them, and a part of them is with us.
  96.
  97. 45 Living in a way that will leave behind a good legacy is important because your life story is handed down to the next generation as a blueprint for a successful life, whether it is moral or immoral.
  98.
  99. 46 It can be difficult re-teaching morality to people who have been taught a false morality their entire lives.
  100.
  101. 47 Live in a way so you are friendly, compassionate, happy for others, and have a sense of equanimity. Even to your enemies.
  102.
  103. 48 Be more concerned with these than being wealthy.
  104.
  105. 49 Wealth comes and goes, but a good legacy can last forever.
  106.
  107. 50 Why not save yourselves and others the trouble and live moral lives now?
  108.
  109. 51 Give up your pride and admit when you have been immoral.
  110.
  111. 52 Reclaim your legendary Nephite morality before it's too late!"
  112.
  113. --------------------Chapter 2--------------------
  114.
  115. Traditionally composing of Helaman 16
  116.
  117. While some are convinced to live moral lives by Samuel the Lamanite, the majority of people want to kill him. Samuel the Lamanite flees back to the Lamanite Kingdom. Both the Lamanites and the Nephites start to live immoral lives, using the teachings of Korihor to justify their immorality.
  118.
  119. 1 There were many people of the City of Zarahemla heard Samuel the Lamanite teach these things.
  120.
  121. 2 Many came to him wanting to learn more about how to live a moral lifestyle, and so he taught them for several days afterwards.
  122.
  123. 3 However, the majority of people did not like what Samuel the Lamanite taught.
  124.
  125. 4 They tried to throw stones and shoot arrows at him as he stood upon the wall.
  126.
  127. 5 Samuel was able to dodge every attack.
  128.
  129. 6 Eventually, the Nephite captains went to arrest him.
  130.
  131. 7 Samuel the Lamanite evaded this unjust arrest and fled back to the Lamanite Kingdom to continue teaching morality there.
  132.
  133. 8 The Nephites never heard from him again.
  134.
  135. 9 This ended the 86th year of the reign of the judges.
  136.
  137. 10 The 87th - 89th years were filled with Nephite pride and immorality.
  138.
  139. 11 In the 90th year of the reign of the judges, several moral teachers came together among the Nephites to try and teach morality together in a new rameumptom.
  140.
  141. 12 They taught nothing but joy and happiness.
  142.
  143. 13 Regardless, these teachers were mostly rejected, except for a few moral people.
  144.
  145. 14 At this same time the Lamanites began to live immoral lives as well, because of the influence that the Nephites had on them.
  146.
  147. 15 They began to believe that living a moral lifestyle was unreasonable.
  148.
  149. 16 They demanded to see the benefits of living a moral life without having to put in the effort of living a moral life.
  150.
  151. 17 They found the old teachings of Korihor and believed that the morality that was handed down from generation to generation was actually immorality that kept us ignorant from the truth.
  152.
  153. 18 Neither the Nephites or the Lamanites were able to be reasoned with into living moral lives.
  154.
  155. 19 They cared more about their wealth than their brothers and sisters.
  156.
  157. 20 This ended the 90th year of the reign of the judges.
