- A thick layer of blood was used to attach the arm to the socket. The realistic, skeletal system of the arm and hand were attached to the rocky elbow socket that had retained its shape despite the gorgon's curse. Harper struggled in doing this thanks to her single arm, but eventually, she managed.
- The blood magic acting as cartilige between the socket and humerus was strong enough to hold them together. However, a few problems remained.
- The bone and muscle were exposed to the air. If left that way, the muscles would quickly and easily dry out. Harper couldn't continuously supply them with blood - that would require makeshift veins, and she couldn't channel them through the rock of her shoulder. Alongside that, it made it easier to harm the arm and would require plenty of upkeep to keep it sufficient.
- What would she do?
- Harper fell into thought, staring at the magically controlled arm. Suddenly, an idea hit her.
- Her blood armor was used to protect her skin during combat. Who was to say it couldn't be used to protect her muscles in day-to-day life?
- (Harper)
- Several vials of blood were retrieved from her cabinets. Harper chose those with variants of thickness that was sufficient enough to provide for her arm without having to use extreme amounts. The corks were popped, the blood was drawn out, and the work begun.
- She followed the general steps for her blood armor. A field of mana was created around the makeshift arm, creating a luminescent layer of what appeared to be only bubble soap over the limb. It was nearly a centimeter thick and stable enough to protect the arm from the solidified blood. It acted as the innermost layer of skin, just bordering the muscle.
- Then came the blood. A layer of shiny, liquid blood was spread out to the coat of mana, sticking to it like a magnet. Harper's thrall over the blood was strong enough to intricately shape it to her liking, using her other arm as reference to make sure they were generally the same size.
- Because of the twisting, malleable field of mana that held the blood in place, Harper could move and turn her arm in any way using contractions and expansions of the muscles implanted without distorting the shape of the layer of blood.
- The final step was the hardening. In the molecular level, the particles of blood were currently twisting and flowing to match the shape they were set to due to her mana. However, these particles needed to solidify. To stiffen. To fall in place together and become a nearly impenetrable field of frozen blood.
- Harper imagined this, her single eye fluttering shut. She tapped into her mana circuit, willing the blood to fall to her standards. The sound of crackling was audible as the blood began to solidify and harden, just like her blood armor.
