You go to open the door, finding it locked. Not unusual for the area or the personage inside. After a few moments, you see somebody peer out at you through a crack in the door, before unlocking it and opening it for you.

"Sorry, should have knocked first." Xan ducks in and takes a look around.

"Eh, you're not the first to try and just barge right in." the somewhat shabby looking man inside says.

Inside seems to be a small shop, selling a mix of fairly mundane items, mixed in with some more interesting trinkets. Knowing the ties to this place, there's probably some other stuff hidden somewhere, the kind that might result in talks with the town guard if they saw you with it.

"You know any other humans in this town? Maybe down on their luck?"

"Yeah, I've heard of a few. Most of them around this part of town. Might check with the Lust Den a few blocks down, they're always looking for down-and-out types to offer money to."

The trinkets are some jewlery, most of it either elvish or gnomish in origin you think.

"I was on my way there to help out, oddly enough..." He doesn't care much for jewelry. Gets in the way during a fight. "What's your best product?"

"Best product? I mean there's a couple bangles that came from the elves holy city that are pretty nice. What are you looking for?"

"I might take those. I was mostly looking for something that might help me kill a golem. Or... crash more Skyships, if they rebuilt the Palace..."

The man takes a rather loud breath through his nose, "Innnnteresting."

"Suppose so. Why do you need to kill a golem, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Well... One wiped out a town nearby. So part of it is vengeance for them. Another part is someone here wants to study it. Two birds with one stone, and I'm getting paid for it."

His eyes go a bit wide at hearing this, "A golem...wiped out a town? Did the dwarves declare war when I wasn't looking or something?"

"It might have been a group of them. And the worrying thing? They don't run on clockwork. This is some kind of unknown adversary."

"Curiouser and curiouser... Anything else you can tell me?" He takes a seat on a chair and leans forward, looking interested.

"Not yet. If you're the mechanical sort, Mr. Nohwar is the one hiring us. The walls though..." He shudders at the memory. "They were like glass. ANd there was no blood. I... I think they might have been CAPTURED."

"Well. I suppose spreading the word about this might be a good plan. Brightcliff certainly isn't that far from here, and who is to say this isn't some isolated incident." he says, and gives a heavy sigh, "...Magic golems...I actually would have preferred a dwarf war."

You head out on your way and soon arrive at the brothel, marked by a large sign reading "The Lust Den - Find Your Fantasy" painted in bright red lettering. As you enter you get greeted by an orc and a dwarf at the entrance, "Hold up. Turn over any weapons or sharp objects you might be carrying."

Xan digs out a grappling hook from his cloak, handing it to the orc. "I'll be needing that back."

"Don't get cute." the dwarf responds, as the orc opens the door for you to go in.

You head inside, finding a dimly lit area. A small bar is set to the side. There's some chairs and couches around, most with people sitting in them. You can't make them out in the dark, but are pretty sure they're focused on the show in the center of the room - a raised platform with a pair of poles running floor to ceiling. There's currently an elf and an orc, both female, putting on a dance.

Xan gives them both a looking over before heading to the bar. The fact that he was human was going to stand out, and he was used to it. With any luck he could talk to the bar tender before getting swarmed by either girls thinking he was some idiot who stumbled into money, or thrown out because of a fight someone else started.

The elf is slender and a bit on the tall side. She has silvered looking hair, and is wearing an outfit made of a thin, nearly transparent material.  The orc meanwhile, is catering more to the muscle-loving crowd, and wearing little more than a leather thong and bra.

You make your way to the bar, the dim lighting helping mask your race a bit. The bartender gives you a brief nod and waits to see if you order anything before moving on to tend to someone else.

The bartender slides you an ale in a mug, raising a bit of an eyebrow at the wording of your question, "We have Trixie, but she's with one of her regulars at the moment. I could pencil you in for tomorrow, otherwise we have a nice selection of elf ladies available."

"I'm in a bit of a hurry. I leave tomorrow." He takes a swig of the ale, thinking quickly. "How many girls work here?"

The bartender stops pouring the drink he was pouring for another patron and slowly turns to look at you, "Why is that information of interest to you?"

"Because I'm an idiot about to throw my life away trying to protect the lives of others and I got paid in advance and figured the people here could use it better than I could."

He gives a bit of a snort, "Well, if you want to leave some kind of 'donation' to Trixie, I'll be sure she gets it at the end of her shift."

He pulls the bag of 50 silver out, laying it on the table.

The bartender takes it, peeks inside, and then puts it somewhere under the counter, "Will there be anything else?"

Xan lets his gaze wander back to the orc. "Um... Is she free?"

"I can get you set up with Ethel, if you'd like." he says, gesturing to the orc girl.

"I... I wouldn't mind that."

He nods, and then waves one of the staff over. The staff person then goes to inform Ethel she has a customer, and both return to you.

"Are you the one who wanted some time with Ethel~?" she asks, only the faintest hint of an orcish accent in her voice. She gives a bit of a pose that shows off the muscles.

(And because I have no clue where else to go with this, cue closing lines and fade to black...) You have a few drinks together on one of the couches, perhaps taking in another show, before heading off to one of the rooms in the back. A small, private room where you were informed you could do anything you like.

You emerge from the brothel a few hours later and 40 silver lighter. It's getting dark and you should probably get to the inn.
