The Story So Far

 Dark Empire Quest is a Star Wars game that will have us attempting to rebuild the Galactic Empire from the ashes of civil war. We will do this from two perspectives, one is that of the reborn Emperor Palpatine, managing fleets of warships, legions of soldiers, and cadres of Sith and Dark Jedi in a bid to reclaim the galaxy. So far, the Emperor has revealed his presence to the galaxy in grand fashion, reclaiming most of the Core Worlds in a series of military campaigns.

The second perspective is that of Commander Alana Tyrna, a rising star in the Imperial Navy and a young noble from Byss. Known colloquially as the "Bloody Baroness" to those who serve under her command, she's risen through the ranks through luck, political connections, and, above all, bloody-minded determination in battle.

With these two characters, and potentially others, we will guide their choices, deal with the consequences of their actions, and work to ensure the Empire rises once again.

After the events of the Star Wars Trilogy, the Empire was defeated in the climactic battle of Endor. The Second Death Star was destroyed, and along with it, the Emperor himself. This began a long period of darkness and collapse for the Empire. Without his unifying presence, the various Moffs and admirals became warlords and began squabbling over the Empire's remains, each seeking to carve out their own private kingdoms.

Meanwhile, the Rebel Alliance declared itself the New Republic and began a to eat away at the remnants of the Empire, striking inward from the Outer Rim.

In the decade that followed, the Rebels made huge territorial gains, petty warlords in some cases rose to prominence like Zsinj in the northern reaches of the Outer Rim. Another power formed under Grand Admiral Thrawn, a military genius formerly loyal to the Empire who intends to rebuild the Empire with himself at the helm.

In the midst of this uncertainty, darkness gathered in the deep core of the galaxy. The Emperor, using the power of the Dark Side, transported his soul into a fresh, younger clone body on his hidden throne world of Byss. Taking control of the small cadre of loyal forces assembled by his Executor Sedriss, the Reborn Emperor began a campaign of reconquest and liberation of the galaxy at large, starting with the Core worlds and working out. Now Coruscant, Kuat, and Corellia, to name a few, have all returned to the control of the Empire proper.

Assisting the Emperor in his endeavors is a huge number of loyalists and opportunists. Among them, Commander Alana Tyrna of the Imperial navy.

Also helping the Emperor is his new apprentice, and replacement for Vader, Darth Cythera who had once been known as Mara Jade.
