- This is my first time writing a review for a movie but I felt I had to for this one. <br/><br/>As others have experienced, I did not have high expectations for this movie as I am a bit jaded by TLJ. I went in with low expectations but came out so satisfied. <br/><br/>I love the cast and the story. Well worth my time and money. All the new characters did a great job. I had some reservations about some of the better known actors in this film but I really thought everyone did a fantastic job. It is difficult to see anyone else other then Harrison Ford in this role but I quickly did not have any issue with this as he played the role so well. <br/><br/>I would highly recommend this to anyone feeling betrayed by TLJ. It is time to give Star Wars another chance.
- The story is generic and mainstream, borrowing from various non-SciFi genres like western and heist movies with a thin veneer of Star Wars slapped on to it. Strangely enough, for the most part it works as the acting in this movie is certainly above par and the script actually tells a classic story without the glaring plot holes and character inconsistencies of recent Star Wars movies. The cinematography is good and we get to see a lot of Chewbacca in this film which could be considered "fan service" for the fans of the original trilogy. The bottom line is that this work of filmmaking would probably be considered a rather benign addition (but certainly no highlight) to the Star Wars franchise if it weren't for the current confrontation surrounding the Star Wars Universe but there isn't enough in this movie that would make me care enough to get worked up on it.
- Solo: A Star Wars Story is a crackingly enjoyable adventure which frankly deserves full episode status in the great franchise, not just one of these intermittent place-holding iterations
