- You are in the cardiac fluoroscopy unit with a new doctor who is inserting a temporary cardiac pacemaker in an elderly gentleman. He seems to be struggling and has already clocked up 20 mins of screening time. You are concerned about the patient’s radiation dose and also the dose to the doctor as he refuses to remove his hands from the field of view and wants you to screen continuously as he is struggling. He gets angry each time you warn him that the 5 min alarm has gone off telling you he is trying to save the patient’s life and to stop being obstructive.
