In ancient Japan, the shape shifting wizard known as Aku resurfaces and attacks the nation. When the emperor is captured, his son is sent to train throughout the world in many forms of discipline and combat. As an adult, he reunites with his mother, who gives him the sacred sword capable of defeating Aku. When the samurai returns home to face the wizard, he is sent through time into the distant future, where Aku still rules over a world filled with high technology, aliens, and other oddities that the samurai doesn't understand. Taking on the name Jack, the samurai makes a name for himself as he struggles to free the future from Aku's grasp, and one day return to his own time to stop Aku before this future comes to pass.
Long ago in a distant land, Aku the shape-shifting master of darkness unleashed an unspeakable evil, but a brave samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose him. Before the final blow was struck, Aku threw open a portal in time and flung the samurai into the future, where Aku's evil is law. Now the samurai seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Aku.
Gennedy Tartovsky (sp?), who created this series, is also the creator of Dexter's Laboratory, a sporadically clever and funny show whose art is more or less ripped off almost entirely from the style of John K, the creator of Ren and Stimpy, possibly the best animated series of the past decade. Samurai Jack shows growth.  The majority of its animation shows a lot Tartovsky's own style and not as much of John K's. However, I have a suspicion that its comedy, which is horribly clunky and seemingly crammed in, and also completely ripped-off from Ren and Stimpy, was forced in not by Tartovsky, but by Cartoon Network, the least imaginative network on television after Lifetime. Cartoon Network was one of the best channels on cable. Now its a haven for stupid brats and sugar-coated, hyperactive, brain-rotting crud. They probably figured that a pure action series, at least a pure action Cartoon-Cartoon, would not go over with the kiddies, that their swiss cheese brains would get bored and start channel surfing. Samuai Jack has an amazing kinetic energy - it could be considered one of the best action cartoons ever created, if the comedy didn't interrupt the action so often. I doubt I'll seek it out in the future, but if I see that it's on, I might stop turning the channels.
I REALLY love Samurai Jack. It is among my MOST favorite animated show from the 2000s. I'm a 2000s kid, and I love this show. I know Genndy's other show Dexter's Laboratory didn't become as funny as it used to be when later Loud House creator Chris Savino took over, but it can still be entertaining. However, Samurai Jack is Genndy Tartakovsky's best show ever. Samurai Jack is absolutely flawless!! It used to be one of Cartoon Network's best shows of all time, NOW it's become Adult Swim's BEST show of all time. Yes, because Adult Swim gave Samurai Jack one more season! Samurai Jack DEFINES Cartoon Network AND Adult Swim. The action sequences were awesome, the animation was awesome, the characters were awesome, everything about Samurai Jack was awesome!! I am so glad Adult Swim is giving Samurai Jack a proper conclusion.

Jack&#39;s real, birth name is never revealed. In the second Pilot episode he decides to name himself with this alternate name after a group of young men got impressed by his actions. No, though the appearance of Samurai Jack himself is believably based on the Professors design from PPG. But they don&#39;t share anything related or common things in any ways.The series is left open to interpretation. However, in the series, Jack finds a stable portal through time before he is defeated by the guardian. It is implied that Jack will return to the past one day as the portal shows his older, bearded self wearing a crown. The guardian states that it is not yet time for him to use the portal.<br/><br/>On December, 2, 2015, Adult Swim announced that the show would be airing a new season on its Toonami programming block in March 11, 2017. The series is once again being produced at Cartoon Network Studios with Tartakovsky as executive producer. This new season shows the continuous journey of Jack taking place 50 years since the last episode of Season 4 in a ten episode event.  a5c7b9f00b
