- There is a supposedly edgy take on the whole Middle East conflict that goes something like: “it doesn’t involve me and so I don’t care.”
- Here’s the problem: if you are living in a Western country, it does involve you, because it is your tax money that is paying for the Jews to kill all these people.
- I am personally sympathetic to the “it doesn’t involve me” perspective, if it’s in a vacuum. I don’t think people should care about conflicts that don’t involve them. Most people on the internet seem to care a lot about every conflict, so it’s a bit suspect that the one where people say “it’s not my problem” is the one with the Jews. But sure, if there was no connection to the West in the Middle Eastern conflict, then okay.
