  1. [20:03] A quick trip to the workshop was made alongside both his sister and the faulty Synthetic. After inviting the latter to take a seat Bruno moves closer to the great table where operations, tinkering, and many other things could be done. A hand reaches up above the table to a recording system hanging from the ceiling. A simple microphone. A good way to keep notes if any.
  2.
  3. "Now then. I, Bruno pyr Aertas and my sister, Amelia Locke pyr Aertas have been authorized by the artificial lifeform known as 'Lyndis' to run a diagnostic in order to determine the cause of an outburst that edged on the emotional end, nearly causing self-destruction at the hands of the enemy. Furthermore, we shall tend to her physical damages."
  4.
  5. He paused, gesturing to the table.
  6.
  7. "When you are ready Lyndis, please lay down."
  8. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [20:10] Following Bruno and Amelia as per his words, Lyndis would find herself in the Aertas residence once again. She didn't really have any injuries that could be considered 'life threatening.' Her auto-repair systems were able to repair most of her damaged components. Though, Bruno's insistence would seem to allow her further priority than most. Even if she did not believe she was worthy of repairs just yet compared to some of the other injured soldiers..
  12. "..."
  13.
  14. Laying on the bed Lyndis would look over to Amelia and Bruno quite blankly. Her injuries did not seem to be too severe, but present nonetheless. Besides the few scrapes, burns, and cuts to her exterior. Along with some shards of skin having been peeled off due to battle. Revealing part of her inner mechanisms. It would seem the source of he injuries lied inside her internal mana supply. Thanks to a certain Lightbringer, he was able to overcharge her mana circuitry with enough mana to the point that she was short out. While her systems had ways to counteract such an event, it wasn't automatically reversible and most likely needed repairs in order for her to operate at full potential
  15. "Affirmative. You are authorized to run the diagnosis. If you find any anomalies, please eliminate them swiftly. Other than this, i have sustained primary damage to my internal mechanisms. Mana supply conduit is currently damaged and circuitry has been disconnected in various parts of my body. Diagnostics reveal mild damage is present to my external body as well.. Repairs are recommended to operate at maximum efficiency."
  16.
  17.
  18. Heeding Bruno's words, the Synthetic would take off her trench coat as she lay on the bed. Revealing the matte black battle armor and clothing that lay underneath. It didn't seem she was seen often without that trench coat was she?
  19. "Shall i commence standby mode?"
  20. (Lyndis)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [20:16] Placing her usual work gloves, the eldest swiftly wheels a nearby table, filled with various tools and apparatuses for the job to be undertaken.
  24.
  25. "Bruno, if you may please, the diagnostics," she'd request. "I shall prepare the needed materials for mana conduit repairs."
  26.
  27. despite being somewhat aware of what exactly has been within the synthetic Lyndis's hardware, it was not until now that she would have a proper investigation. Merely last time, it was only by chance on her comeuppance with such a... unique model.
  28.
  29. To the side, lingering gizmos find themselves lined neatly to a nearby shelf. An orchilacum core, stood by the far end of the line, is taken. Its form willing to be use for any sealants and repairs on the crafts of such circuits.
  30.
  31. "And please, yes, perhaps standby mode will suffice for this," she mutters to Lyndis as Amelia takes to the side of Bruno, watching carefully for the diagnostic reports to emerge. Curious of its full and detailed contents.
  32. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [20:19] Name: 'Overcharge'
  36.
  37. Desc: In the flurry of combat, and overcharge of light magic shocks Lyndis to their very core, infusing whatever inner-workings power them to pulse and beat uncomfortably. What comes of this is spasms of artificial limbs and an aching pain that disrupts simple motor processes. It would certainly recover in time.
  38. (Lyndis)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [20:24] Bruno nodded to his sister before awaiting for Lyndis to switch her current operating mode. A few words are spared her way.
  42.
  43. "We will speak again in a few minutes."
  44.
  45. Or so he hoped. Should the damage to her computation unit be that severe they may never speak again. He hoped it wouldn't the case. Bruno's hands reached for a small object after Lyndis found herself in standby mode. Barsburg-issued components were plugged behind the Synthetic's neck with a small shift of her hair, launching forth a diagnostic of her inner workings.
  46.
  47. A quick bypass of the physical status was made, as well as the damage to the core. He wished not to see a multitude of irrelevant errors. He turned to Amelia.
  48.
  49. "It's running. You can start working on her."
  50. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [20:36] As Lyndis lay on the bed, she would simply nod in response to Amelia's words. A short and blunt "Affirmative" being said before she went to 'sleep'
  54. "Commencing standby mode. Energy has been temporarily diverted to primary systems..."
  55.
  56. With that, the eyes of the Synthetic would gently close as the whirring sounds of her mechanics began to slowly dissipate. Her world slowly turning dark as she is swiftly brought to the land of unconsciousness...
  57. "..."
  58.
  59. With Lyndis 'sleeping'. it would give Bruno and Amelia ample time to study her as much as they want. With components successfully plugged into the Synthetic's neck. The duo had full access to her entire database and files. In a sense, they had complete and utter access to what made Lyndis...well, Lyndis. And with such power, they had the ability to alter whatever information the so desired. The diagnosis would mostly give a detailed report of her current physical damage. Displaying a multitude of information about the Synthetic's inner workings along with the information she had stored to her database. Being directly linked to the Coalescence, it would seem most if not all of her data was shared with the being. As par for the course of what she was told to do..
  60.
  61. Upon further examinations of her components and database, there would...not seem to be anything wrong on the surface about Lyndis's condition. Despite the physical injuries that she had of course. Her database and status were..normal. If they so chose, they had access to recordings of various experiences Lyndis would take note of during her short life. In fact, they would most likely see a plentiful amount of overwhelming information on various things that Lyndis had added to her database. Including but not limited to basic social skills, information on food, Achyon, her allies, her enemies...everything. It was like looking directly into the mind of the Synthetic. It would seem...everything would be normal. She was built to learn and grow from her experiences. And...she definetly did seem to be doing so..
  62.
  63. Yet....
  64. "..."
  65.
  66. That did not mean everything was in order.
  67.
  68. Further examinations of her database might include the discovery of classified files deep within the core of her database. While at first they seemed to be corrupted, they would soon discover that such data was actually completely intact. Just...simply inaccessible. Bruno and Amelia were able to access everything else regarding Lyndis's database. So...why not this information?
  69.
  70. Other than this, it would seem Lyndis would have kept the forefront of her experiences with her allies within her mind. Neoni and Eve...surprisingly being the two beings she had the most information on. Most likely making the most sense, given they were both synthetics. But it did not explain the various mental notes she kept of them. One might describe such information as the girl garnering 'feelings' for her two siblings. Her primary protocol indicated that the most important word associated with them was just but one, simple protocol.
  71.
  72. 'Protect
  73.
  74. Whether this information was added at a later date or always there...was a mystery. Most of Lyndis seemed to be a mystery, it would seem. She was...remarkably built much like a human. With synthetic muscle, skin, and hair being present on her body among the various mechanizations that kept her alive. Did Lyndis's protocol give her the objective to protect her siblings out of simply logistics? Or was it as Bruno hypothesized?
  75.
  76. Was she developing actual feelings to those she cared about?
  77. (Lyndis)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [20:43] The Aertas moved and worked almost a bit too well. As if she knew where was where, what was what, and exactly how the process of synthetic diagnostics worked. Though the secrets to their creation and overall processes was barred to most, she at least seemed to show experience in such affairs. At least for the case of Lyndis.
  81.
  82. To say she was surprised was an understatement. A long exhale partnered with a curious scratch to the cheek would be present as the two siblings began their diagnostic rituals.
  83.
  84. Perhaps, her suspicions weren't entirely hypothesis now seeing all this. A gaze tossed to the robotic arm she has attached, a memory of when these thoughts of such possibilities in her began.
  85.
  86. "This is... well I can't say I wasn't expecting it, because I was," she mumbles. A hand stuck as she has begun to seal up any cracks, disrepairs, and broken pieces found on the physical body of the synthetic. "This is highly... intriguing to say theleast."
  87.
  88. Dusting her hands, she takes a moment to pause on such discoveries, pointing toward the files encrypted and hidden. "Now I'm one for curiosities and finding answers brother. However I believe there are some secrets of the Empire that..." A pause, her eyes shift to train at him. "Should remain secrets. At least for the time being."
  89. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [20:59] As information unraveled before his eyes Bruno took the time to search every nook and cranny of the Synthetic's so-called mind. His interest and fascination brought him to great length; he always sought to rid mankind of its weakness and the lifeform before himself was the closest thing there was to accomplishing such. Of course would the notes within her system be important.
  93.
  94. The directive given that explained her reaction was but a prime one. For a protocol this dangerous to be engaged Bruno had believed that there would be many hurdles in the way. A glance is given to his sister who made that comment about secrets, giving her a nod before the young Aertas began tinkering as he often did. People were much more difficult to sway and manipulate, however. This? This was simple. It was straightforward and everything was connected, so much so that even a simple artificer may be able to modify her thoughts. Bruno was a master, however. His attention was laid upon loyalty and obedience at first. Among the hierarchy of Achyon and Barsburg would likely be more individuals and beings that may or may not be encrypted - he cared not for those. His intent was simply to 'cheat' his way into Lyndis' graces, bringing him to discretely add the profiles of himself and all of his siblings to her penultimate highest degree of importance, right below what likely was the Coalescence. A thought was given for a moment and pride allowed itself to grow. A careful watch of his sister's attention led him to raising his own level of 'trust' above the rest once she had her back turned.
  95.
  96. "I believe that without the right access we likely would find ourselves discovered regardless. If the Empire is keeping it away from us then so be it."
  97.
  98. With this modification made, Bruno then moved towards the faulty protocol that was set in place. The indication to 'Protect' upon Eve's file was modified to a simple regular protocol that any other citizen of Achyon or member of the military had; protection though not at all cost. Neoni's remained the same, however.
  99.
  100. Naturally, the four Aertas profiles were opened and given the protocol to 'Protect' as well. Notes were added to his own personal file, if only to aid Lyndis in future interaction and fill up her data on him. Ramen was listed as his favored food, grey as his favorite color, winter as his favorite season - and so on. A ton of information that was missing and a specific focus on his project to enhance mankind through the use of technology was put there. Innocent information, though the kind that would help Lyndis further help him in the future. A 'friendship' forged in data rather than social interactions. She sucked at those anyway. Being selfish was not unlike Bruno and the least people knew? The better it was.
  101.
  102. A rather important make-over and tune-up for Lyndis.
  103.
  104. Finally, a quick download of the design behind her circuitry and its function was made for Bruno's own research. This one may have been the least offensive thing he did - the one thing that would not have him court martialed.
  105.
  106. "This should be good. I've adjusted her protocol towards Eve with the current situation and I've ensured that nothing else was amiss. Are you done, Amelia?"
  107. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  108. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  109.
  110. [21:11] "..."
  111.
  112. The young Synthetic would stay silent as she is modified. Completely within the graces of the humans that altered her. She would have....been altered to know every single little thing about Bruno upon her eventual awakening. His favorite food, color, season. Everything. Such alterations to her protocol may or may not prove to cause some glitches here and there given what she had already deemed important before alteration. But alas....the deed had been done...
  113.
  114. How sneaky of Bruno it would be to alter her data so much. Was it...even moral to do such a thing at this point? Lyndis...did not know. Nor could she ever know. Perhaps she may be able to realize the alterations to her data once she had woken up. But...it was impossible for her to change what had already been set and stone..
  115.
  116. For now, Bruno would be able to successfully cheat his way into Lyndis's graces. It was as easy as...pressing a button. The Aertas family were now at the highest degree of importance along with Neoni to...'protect'. Enhancing mankind through the use of technology....all of it.
  117.
  118. Upon her injuries being healed and her thorough diagnoses having been completed. Lyndis would slowly open her eyes as her systems began to initiate once again. The gentle whirring of her core becoming louder as it diverted energy toward all parts of her body. And allowing her to successful wake up
  119. "...New data has been detected in database. Now initializ...ing."
  120.
  121. There would be an ever so slight hint of hesitation in Lyndis's voice as she said this. But...it was most likely nothing to be worried about
  122. "Running diagnostic. All systems green. Data has been successfully initialized. Were you...able to fix the anomalies I was presented with?"
  123.
  124. She'd look curiously toward Bruno and Amelia. Taking note of the...odd amount of information she suddenly had on him? How did she learn this?
  125. "You...have my gratitude. Now if you'll...excuse me, i have a few duties to take care of. Will...that be all?"
  126.
  127. (Lyndis)
  128. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  129.
  130. [21:20] Perhaps a bit to caught in her own musings as she was quick to apply any mending needed, the actions of her brother would be left unnoticed. At least, the integral parts.
  131.
  132. Maybe it were the injuries she has incurred during the raid. Perhaps it was exhaustion finally catch up to her. Perhaps she was just incredibly oblivious, unaware when her focus has been solely driven to work.
  133.
  134. Regardless, she'd step back from the synthetic. A yawn coming to from her hands let from her tools. "The circuitry and physical repairs have been completed. I assume your end on the internals as well?" She rhetorically asks, taking a glance to her brother.
  135.
  136. Yet before she would get a proper reply, the soft hum picks up. Systems begin running as Lydis comes to. Perhaps better than before. "I'll take that as a yes then."
  137.
  138. Stretching her arms, she remained unaware to the inner working and initialized data that would soon register within the synthetic's systems. "Thank you for the help brother. Hopefully things run a bit more... smoothly, yes, smoothly next time." She nods. Her full trust seem apparent. "I don't believe there is anything else on my end then."
  139. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  140. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  141.
  142. [21:24] Bruno caught the curious expression she gave him upon waking up, likely being overwhelmed with information that was unnecessary. A quick way to have his modifications caught if word went out - especially with Neoni already having been made aware of his mistreatment of Nelly during some experiments.
  143.
  144. He had to adjust.
  145.
  146. "Almost. I've added a few notes on my own personal file. Details that will avoid wasting time with pointless conversations. Some are more important than others; I'm sure your systems will recognize them in due time."
  147.
  148. A confession of something that wasn't horrible persay; to know more about someone was far from a crime. It was a time-saver.
  149.
  150. "Before you go, Lyndis, is your mind in a proper state?"
  151.
  152. He had to ask. His modifications may have done something horrible.
  153. (Bruno pyr Aertas)
  154. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  155.
  156. [21:31] "Ah. Affirmative. Thank you for adding this information, Bruno. Indeed, it will take time to recognize the new data, but i will adapt to it."
  157.
  158. She'd simply nod her head in response to Bruno's query. It...didn't seem like anything was out of the ordinary at the moment as far as Lyndis could tell. Was there the possibility of potential glitches in the near future because of the alteration of such data? Possibly. But for now, her mind and systems were as right as rain
  159. "Yes. My mind is in a...proper state.
  160.
  161. It seemed Bruno knew that it was illegal to alter the information of a Synthetic without proper authorization. Yet...he was sneaky enough to be able to gain authorization to the files from Lyndis's own mouth. Perhaps a...mistake on Lyndis's own part. Having decided to trust her ally a little too much with her own systems..
  162. "All systems are green. Thank you for your time and for the repairs. If you'll excuse me."
  163.
  164. With that, Lyndis would simply get up from the bed and begin walking out the door. Yet...she felt an odd sense as if...something was wrong. It was there, yet hidden deep within her mind. As...there were some things that were better left unaltered that had been altered.
  165.
  166. Well, it perhaps would be nothing. Her main protocol was still in check. And it always will be. No matter the hidden alterations done to her system..
  167. "Goodbye."
  168. (Lyndis)
  169. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  170.
  171. [21:32] "Ah. Affirmative. Thank you for adding this information, Bruno. Indeed, it will take time to recognize the new data, but i will adapt to it."
  172.
  174. "Yes. My mind is in a...proper state."
  175.
  177. "All systems are green. Thank you for your time and for the repairs. If you'll excuse me."
  178.
  179. With that, Lyndis would simply get up from the bed and begin walking out the door. Yet...she felt an odd sense as if...something was wrong. It was there, yet hidden deep within her mind. As...there were some things that were better left unaltered that had been altered.
  180.
  181. Well, it perhaps would be nothing. Her main protocol was still in check. And it always will be. No matter the hidden alterations done to her system..
  182. "Goodbye."
  183. (repost)
  184. (Lyndis)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186.
  187. [21:36] Though a glance of intrigue was shot, Amelia would merely shrug it off moments later, heading for the door to open and present the exit for Lyndis herself. A common sign of courtesy, one the eldest was at least accustomed to.
  188.
  189. "Later on, if ever things for awry and another check-up is needed, please inform us to your earliest convenience," she'd mutter.
  190.
  191. "Adding huh, quite a shame what befell... one of them." She refrained from uttering the name. Perhaps it was fear of producing any unwanted stimuli, despite knowing full well that through the altercations of Bruno, such stimuli would not occur. Nevertheless, she would nod, before beginning to clean up the tools used for this moment of clarity.
  192.
  193. Upon the synthetic's departure though, it would seem Amelia would find herself to pause and grab her brother for one moment before she herself departed.
  194. (Amelia Locke pyr Aertas)
  195. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  196.
  197. [21:38] Lyndis says, "Of course Amelia. You are my first choice when it comes to repairs and whatnot. If anything goes arwy, i will notify you. "
  198. [21:38] Lyndis says, "Goodbye, you two..."
  199. [21:38] Lyndis says, "And...Bruno."
  200. [21:38] Bruno pyr Aertas asks, "Yes?"
  201. [21:39] Lyndis asks, "...If you are wounded, please do take care of those wounds post haste, alright?"
  202. [21:39] Bruno pyr Aertas says, "Of course."
