[b]Aidan - Grolsh[/b]

Aidan was happy, not only did Samaster and Sares seem like they would make a good couple, but they would serve as a potent symbol.  Two leaders of the people, one elf and one human joining together.  The fact that they were both his prophets was simply a bonus, and would serve to even further help the goal of elven integration.  However, there was still the matter in preparing his children for the future then he would not be there to guide them that had to be dealt with.

Aidan returned to the in-construction city at the center of the soon to be Giant kingdom.  Waiting until the end of work for the day, the Giantfather called all his children to the castle at the center of town.  He spoke to them, his voice booming, “My children, I have called you here to speak with you.  For too long, the Giants have lived without purpose fighting amongst yourselves.  Now you have been reborn and it is time to forge a new future.  The city you build will be the gem at the center, but it is not enough.  Even a city to awe the rest of the world will not be enough to give you the respect you deserve, to protect your lands from those who would take them.  What you need my children is a Kingdom, a bastion of faith against the world.  A kingdom that is not just mortal but divine.  As the Giantfather, I would guide you and protect you.  However, I cannot always be there.  That is why, there is one who will rule in my stead, during the times I am away.”  He calls up Tildan to stand before the crowd.  “Tildan is my priest, the first of the Fire-Giants, and my immortal Prophet.  There is none I have found more able, more worthy to protect and guide you while I sleep.”

“Together, my children, we will forge in this place a holy kingdom.  So that you will never lose what you have gained, so that the basis of the unity you have at last: one faith, one purpose, and the brotherhood between every giant, will last for all eternity.  With a kingdom built on faith and unity, the giants will light the way, and become examples for all the world of what a truly Strong kingdom is like!”

“Come my children, in the temple I have laid out my Edicts, my guidance for you.”  Aidan lead the crowd inside, and as many as could fit crowded into the central chamber dominated by the hearth that never went out. The assembled giants were confused, because at first there was nothing.  Then, on the walls of the room flaming letters began to appear, spelling out Aidan's Edicts.

DO NOT CONSORT WITH DEMONS OR DEVILS, NOR SUFFER OTHERS WITHIN YOUR LANDS TO DO THE SAME.

DO NOT WAIVER FROM THE PATH OF STRENGTH, BECAUSE THROUGH STRENGTH YOU WILL FIND SALVATION.

YOU ARE A PEOPLE UNITED IN BROTHERHOOD, DO NOT WAR AGAINST THE OTHER FAITHFUL.

GROLSH IS A HOLY CITY, DEFEND IT, BUT NEVER RULE IT WITHOUT THE PEOPLE'S CONSENT.

DEFEND YOUR LANDS, BUT DO NOT UNJUSTLY SEIZE THE LANDS OF OTHERS.[/i][/b]

“Live by these laws, my children, and you will prosper, and build a kingdom to stand as a beacon of strength.  Break them, and turn away from me, and nothing but the same disaster as the past awaits.  My children etch these edicts into your hearts, with the help of the priests, they will guide you when I cannot.”

[i]DC11: Inspire the giants to found a theocratic kingdom with Aidan as Godking, but with Tildan as Prophet who actually runs the day to day.  The religious basis for the theocracy will be worship of Aidan, with the Edicts being an integral part of the social fabric.  Ideally a majority of the policing of beliefs will be socially done, IE if your neighbors find out you're not keeping up with worship or violating edits they are all over you, and calling priests to come try and educate you and all that.  Also with the priest and their faith spells to smooth things over.

Fire[+2] – To set up the Edicts in writing of ever-burning fire on the wall of the inner chamber of the temple.

Strength[+2] – To use Aidan's strength of personality to etch his words into the Giant's hearts, and get them to devote themselves completely to this new regime.

Giant[+2] – To use Aidan's position as the Giantfather to sway the Giants into accepting his vision for a Giant theocracy.

IMPORTANT: It's worth explaining what some of the edicts mean, since the priests will know this

First Edict: :siren:This does not mean they cannot worship other gods.:siren: It means that their loyalty is to Aidan first.  So they can worship both Aidan and Giserre, or Aidan and Meto and Giserre, or Aidan and Tricksy, etc.  No matter how many gods they worship, Aidan should come first, and heaven forbid should Aidan come into conflict with another god, the giants would side with Aidan.

Second: Pretty self explanatory, fuck demons and devils, don't tolerate any Infernal influence in giant-land.

Third: Basic Aidan strength stuff.

Fourth:Giants killing faithful giants is verboten, harming giants who reject Aidan is frowned upon as attempting to reconvert them is preferred, giants who associate or traffick with demons get no protection..  Also, causing physical harm to other followers of Aidan such as the Branns, the elves, etc is also forbidden.

Fifth: Giants have a duty to protect Grolsh, but cannot invade it.  If the people of Grolsh(a super-majority of them) decide they want to be integrated into the giant kingdom they can do so.

Sixth: Don't start shit with the neighbors.  If they attack, you can do what is necessary to ensure the safety of the kingdom, but starting wars is not ok. [/i]
