  1. Poem one: To Autumn by John Keats
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5.
  6.
  7. 1A)
  8.
  9. 1) The persona is someone who is describing the natural events of Autumn. To describe this persona would be someone almost realistically living the events stated in autumn, to feel immersed and connected.
  10.
  11.
  12.
  13. 2) The speaker's tone is serene. They want the reader to feel immersed & connected to the Autumn weather and characteristics, but also peaceful. "Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind", "The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft".
  14.
  15.
  16.
  17. 3) Some words that provide meaning to help explain the poem as a whole would be soft-lifted & soft-dying. Both of these words are paired with soft to seem gentle and careful. While lifted & dying are to different things, dying would be taken as moving onto the next day peacefully without pain or remorse of this. Some words I had trouble with were gnats and furrow.
  18.
  19.
  20.
  21. 4) Images the author creates is a calm and peaceful Autumn day.
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25. 5) A figure of speech that is used is personification. The speaker talks to the scenery he is describing like one is alive and able to achieve death or life.
  26.
  27.
  28.
  29. 6) A symbol could be the "fume of poppies". A strong, yet good smell of rich flavor that is released by poppies. It could be taken as a joyful and peaceful occurrence.
  30.
  31.
  32.
  33. 7) The overall theme is describing the events of Autumn so the reader can feel immersed and connected to the season. Also to understand the season is at a point when everything is fully matured and getting ready to move onto the next season.
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37. 8) I believe rhyme or rhythm isn't too important in this poem, but what was more important is the word choice used to describe the events of Autumn while also giving an emotional connection to the reader.
  38.
  39.
  40.
  41. 9) The rhyme scheme and line arrangement were inconstant in this poem, giving a not fully understood reasoning behind it.
  42.
  43. Poem one: To Autumn by John Keats Poem two: Tintern Abbey by William Wordsworth
  44.
  45. 2B) A similarity between the two poems is they both are describing events in life, trying to make the reader feel immersed and connected. A difference between the two is in Tintern, the speaker is talking more so about his events & memories that occurred while visiting again Wye. While differently, in To Autumn the speaker is describing the events of Autumn as a whole, not certain events that just occurred to himself.
  46.
  47. 2C)
  48.
  49. The poems are connected to describing events of nature to the readers. They describe the events as beautiful, peaceful, and want to show the true beauty of the world.
