  1. [23:13] As the advice was taken before even the sentence ended. He'd crack a smile, it was good. He'd shift his gaze to the streets for a moment.
  2.
  3. Then with a smirk to the Celestial he'd retort to their dismissiveness of walking into an enemy fortress.
  4.
  5. "When one connects with their emotions, sometimes they feel the need to be direct with those they wish to defeat."
  6.
  7. He'd charged the city of Huangzhou by himself as a youth after all. Though by now he'd start to walk away stopping only for a moment, glancing back up to Kirsi.
  8.
  9. "I think. . . Revenge has something to do for it."
  10.
  11. Though, he'd not waste much time standing around after that. The celestial mage would surely have enough issues coming to terms with what they where. Best to give them time.
  12. (Syracuse Fengari)
  13. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  14.
  15. [23:17] Syracuse did a few hail marries to the big A.
  16. (Syracuse Fengari)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [23:23] Syracuse strolls into the room without so much as a knock on the door, how rude. He'd take a look about and deciding this was indeed the place he'd sought out. The big Neries would lean up against a supporting pillar. Just getting a feel for whatever was happening before he spoke.
  20. (Syracuse Fengari)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [23:24] "Complicated and would beat the purpose of Mass Production. A power source still requires a base to be built and would only add to the woes and materials of the armor itself. It's another part of Project Magister to add further down the line."
  24.
  25. The helmet was now powered down and while it ran in this cold circuit state, the information she needed was gathered. The pin was removed and the magitech panel was now safely tucked away whilst the girl leaned forward to stare down this helmet cautiously. This was a small step forward, but a giant leap in the Project's direction. Her frown finally gave way to a smile as the helmet was hefted upwards and was slowly inspected anew.
  26.
  27. "Now we can look forward to Mythrite. The helmet is made of Mythril, but Mythrite allows for better and hardier preparations for our men. This concludes Phase 1. I should get the paperwork ready for a suitable report to the Adjudicator."
  28.
  29. One last inspection was made and the helmet was settled down anew unto the table as the girl turned to face her newest worker and the reason that Phase 1 had pushed through to success.
  30.
  31. "Now? Now we have to move on to Phase 2. The creation of Mythrite. You said you had the materials on you, yes?"
  32.
  33. Loretta now turned to look at Zexelis expectantly and- Oh look! Syracuse had just wandered into the room in the midst of the wrap up. A successful experiment had just taken place and an experimental looking helmet lay on the table along with deliciously free aspected mana in the air. How convenient for the Neries!
  34. (Loretta)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [23:27] Syracuse breathed in deeply, ah he loved the smell of mana in the air. He'd not so subtlally simply begin to consume the random particles. Though, other than a bit of gluttonous indulgement. He'd just give the helmet a weird look, he had no clue what they'd just said or what it was!
  38. (Syracuse Fengari)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [23:32] Zexelis nodded as Loretta spoke of needing to stay within the means of mass production. It seemed the prototype of course, had some additions that could be made that could make the next version better. Now came the use of the ore Zexelis had been curious about for a while, the mythrite.
  42.
  43. Zexelis only nodded as he was asked of his materials, producing many pieces of mythril and blue mercury for Loretta. "I hope I got it in reasonable time." Zexelis set the materials on top of the desk for Loretta.
  44. (Zexelis)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [23:40] Syracuse arrived at just the right time to watch the girl accept the raw materials being offered by Zexelis for inspection. Raw and crude, as all ore were... to be set right besides the helmet with ease.
  48.
  49. "Ah... it looks like we have a visitor."
  50.
  51. Their arrival prompted a distraction, but not a heavy enough one. The girl focused anew on the raw ores she was holding in her hand and began to gauge what she had and what was next on the to do list.
  52.
  53. "Exelis, the premise of Mythrite is that it is an Alloyed Metal based on the ever lightweight and incredibly useful metal, Mythril. I believe that whatever was used to make this so called Mythrite was Blue Mercury. My Uncle, Renegin Billard, wished to alloy it with multiple metals to see what stuck and what worked in a process of trial and error in Metallurgy. Rather than do that willy nilly though and waste resources needlessly... we will start by going off of what we know. Blue Mercury is lightweight and typically serves as a mercurial conductor. Easily turned to liquid and light weight. Mythril, already lightweight and excellent in magical conductivity when mixed with Orichalcum. It's used in Prosthetic kits."
  54.
  55. The girl was going off quite the tangent as the ores were set back down anew together and the helmet was slowly being tucked away anew into her satchel. The helmet worked, which meant that the rest of the blueprints would work as intended. At least... that was her hope.
  56.
  57. "My household contains a large crucible. I shall contact my Uncle and you two are to work in melting, smelting and mixing the first alloyed batch of Mythrite. You've said you worked with Mythril before, so I intend to put that experience to good use."
  58.
  59. Even with a visitor nearby, Loretta didn't hesitate in dumping all of this technological jargon upon the man, albeit needless one at that. They were a smith and they had shown their skills prior. Why was she being thorough here?
  60.
  61. "Specifically, I will be putting your skills with a Furnace to use. Have you made Ingots before?"
  62.
  63. oh.
  64.
  65. "Also, forgive me Ser Syracuse. We were just concluding a part of a Project for R&D. What brings you here? Curious in Applied Sciences?"
  66. (Loretta)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [23:52] One could say that the look that Syracuse was giving Loretta at that moment. Was a look of complete and utter confusion. Yet, one could also say to his credit he shifted from it into a confident smirk rather easily!
  70.
  71. His head swayed from one side to the next, raven locks billowing with the motion. Though it'd be just a brief thing, as his feet began moving. Taking him fully into the room now that they'd stopped scaring him with technical mumbo jumbo.
  72.
  73. "I doubt I'm smart enough for all of that. Bwahaha!"
  74.
  75. He'd answer with an amused tone to his voice, ending it with a hearty laugh. Standing a few feet from the table now, he'd hook his thumbs into his belt loops.
  76.
  77. "No, I've come for you Loretta."
  78.
  79. He'd give just a moment for dramatic flair, normally stating your purpose was specifically for someone would do that.
  80.
  81. "After all, one cannot move to re-inspire the masses without the backing of House Rosenkruez."
  82.
  83. His scarlet hues lit up as he'd offer a warm smile to the young heiress. Shifting he'd also give a nod to Zexelis.
  84.
  85. "Pardon the intrusion lad."
  86. (Syracuse Fengari)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [23:58] Zexelis stays attentive while Loretta explained to him seemingly the process she came about the conclusion of Mythrite being a better material for her magitech armor. Zexelis nodded as he was assigned to make batches of alloyed Mythrite. As he was asked if he had created ingots before, Zexelis gave a nod.
  90.
  91. "I've created ingots of all types of metals before, with some practice, I'm sure I could get the hang of mythrite." With that though, it seemed Loretta was wanted elsewhere.
  92.
  93. "I presume you'll reach out to your uncle in due time, considering it seems you have public affairs to tend to."
  94. (Zexelis)
  95. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  96.
  97.
  98.
  99. [00:05] "Seems like I do. I'll go ahead and put these in our storage for safe keeping. In the meantime, gather more Blue Mercury, for we have plenty Mythril to work with here. I will get my Uncle and we will move on to using the forge at the household. After that, we decide what's Phase three of the project."
  100.
  101. "The Power Source or the Armor itself."
  102.
  103. It really sounds like she's patronizing him at this rate, given her visible age. Maybe she's just repeating things for good measure like a professional would? Either way, something so simple could've just been brought in via simple instructions or written orders.
  104.
  105. "We'll conclude here for the time being. Here's your pay for your troubles Exelis."
  106.
  107. And as the belongings were slowly being heaped into the bag? The girl produced ahefty pouch of coin to make sure her worker was duly compensated for his work and troubles. Can't keep a division if you're not paying them after all! The helmet was done and the work was completed for now, so her attention would be brought to Syracuse in full.
  108.
  109. From Science to Religion, the Head Researcher was ready to continue their work.
  110.
  111. "I'm assuming you've come to me about matters of the Church? Would you like to discuss those here or elsewhere? Sorry for the erm mess."
  112.
  113. And a mess it was indeed. Papers. Schematics. Blueprints. All over the wall, blackboard and table! She didn't even bother to try and gather them up or organize them, seeing as she knew they'd be using this office more in the coming days. That is... if it wasn't destroyed in the war.
  114. (Loretta)
  115. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  116.
  117. [00:08] Zexelis exclaims, "I bid you both good day!"
  118. [00:08] Syracuse Fengari says, "Latter lad."
  119. [00:12] Looking about the room the Neried got the filling that perhaps he was out of his depth. Which he was, certainly. He'd idly scratch his chin.
  120.
  121. "Though, I admire your adherence to the first tenet. Perhaps, a place less crowded would be preferable."
  122.
  123. He'd frown, thinking about where that place could be. With a chuckle he'd start to walk out of the door. Speaking back as he went.
  124.
  125. "Like the Church itself, least there you won't have the ability to scare me with technical mumbo jumbo."
  126. (Syracuse Fengari)
  127. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  128.
  129. [00:17] Just as he'd thought, all but empty. Like it'd been in his youth really. No doubt like it'd been ever since Astaria left Dawn due to the vampire issue.
  130.
  131. "I'll be honest, I thought I'd be having this conversation with Gray. Though, it seems in my captivity. It has been you, whose rose to head Rosenkruez's interests."
  132.
  133. As he spoke he'd reach into a pocket and pull out a withered old pamphlet, worn and brittle. Just barely you could spot the title. Gray Church.
  134.
  135. "I remember getting one of these as a young man. Yet, here we are a decade later and this building still sets empty."
  136.
  137. As he spoke the old worn pamphlet easily slid back into his coat pocket. He'd lean forwarda bit, his scarlet hues glowing softly in the often shadowy recess of the Eclipse.
  138.
  139. "I'd like to change that. As I'd started to do five years ago."
  140. (Syracuse Fengari)
  141. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  142.
  143. [00:24] "Honestly... I thought so too. I haven't seen my Brother in a long time now."
  144.
  145. At least actively. He comes and goes as he pleases, but she has no idea where Gray currently lies in. A frown covers the girl's face as she turned to float to Syracuse and maintain a proper pose for speech. She was the Head of the Household now after all. She had to keep things going.
  146.
  147. "I've grown lonesome in my work nowadays, but as it stands, the matters of science and religion have fallen to me. I'm honestly glad to have such a weight taken off my shoulders, for I do not believe I am ready to spearhead it myself."
  148.
  149. "If you're interested in rebuilding the matters of faith... you will have my blessing and my funding. After all, you're a Neries and thus the closest ones to the Dreamer. I'm assuming this is why you'vebrought me here, yes?"
  150. (Loretta)
  151. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  152.
  153. [00:33] Frowned as they mentioned not having seen Gray. He'd just assumed that perhaps the boy had just stuck to domestic life over the public.
  154.
  155. "He is alright though?"
  156.
  157. It was asked simply after they'd spoken. He still remembered fondly the time's he'd spent with the him. Such as goading demi-angels to start a war in Crafthold. Good times.
  158.
  159. "lonesome? I'd imagine a great many show interest in the scientific pursuits at the least."
  160.
  161. Notable as he spoke he'd lean back, growing ever more comfortable in the rough seating. Before finally just kicking his feet upon the table. He was no noble, had no inclination to remain stiff and poise.
  162.
  163. "Yes, the faith of the people are lacking. They wallow in doubt and indecision. So many do not know what to believe in and thus turn to false idols."
  164.
  165. He'd run a hand along his unbroken horn. As if simply touching it to remind himself of what he was. A ground really in the chaotic maelstrom that was his perceptions. Though, it also brought attention to them. A thing when he'd had two he enjoyed showing off.
  166.
  167. "So, well yes I am wishing to rebuild the faith. I'd love for you backing, financial or spiritual it matters not. But if I am being honest. . ."
  168.
  169. At that point he offer a shrug as he finished the thought.
  170.
  171. "I simply felt out of my depths in your lab. Familiarity breeds comfort after all."
  172. (Syracuse Fengari)
  173. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  174.
  175. [00:40] It was strange, but it brought a smile to her face in hearing that the lab was alien to someone else. To her? It was a means to an end, a chance to find salvation and answers through fact and effort rather than blind faith and hope. She almost even giggled now.
  176.
  177. "He's fine, yes. And no. Not many people show much interest. They just have high expectations of us. Hell, I'm not even a person that works any of the three great tasks given, so I make schematics, do the science and math and give instructions to those that do. It's not that complicated."
  178.
  179. "As for matters of faith? I wished to make a Theological debate in Crafthold once to try and aid in ceasing this zealotry. People don't even know what they're fighting for half the time, let alone their reasoning."
  180.
  181. Loretta now ceased her flight so she could stand up at the table and in a show of symbolism, show just how small she truly was. She was still in the body of a child after all.
  182.
  183. "Remember. I am still ten and can only do so much. Truth be told, Mother Astaria would be honored to have someone carry on the Ewer of Faith as would I. If Brother Gray was here... he'd know where to begin in earnest."
  184.
  185. "That being said, what is it you would have me do Ser Syracuse? I can only hold so much sway with the people after all."
  186. (Loretta)
  187. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  188.
  189. [01:04]
  190. {LOAD GAME}
  191.
  192. [01:05] His gaze shifted downwards a bit. Truth be told he almost didn't get the symbolism of it. Well, he didn't even notice really. He'd look at them odd for all of ten second before they started speaking.
  193.
  194. Right, ten year old. Short and small. When you looked down on everyone you'd ever met that was some giant Kaor. Such displays became harder to pick up on.
  195.
  196. "Crafthold isn't the place to discuss, it's laws and aura of neutrality leaves many to believe they are beyond the words and acts of others."
  197.
  198. There was the smallest hint of distaste for city in his tone. A flicker of a frown crossed his face as he spoke, though it didn't last long. Back came the smile, a bit more manic than one would expect.
  199.
  200. "Rarely do the enemies of our faith understand anything other than the universal tongue."
  201.
  202. He'd not explain what that tongue was. He'd expect the undead to be able to understand it. He'd roll on towards the claim of age, almost a bit puzzled by it.
  203.
  204. "You're not ten anymore. . . Hmm, you where saved from the stars back when I was. . ."
  205.
  206. He'd scratch cracked hunk of a horn upon his brow.
  207.
  208. "Seventeen or eighteen, so you'd have to be about, hah, seventeen or eighteen by now."
  209.
  210. He'd remembered the moment he'd heard of Loretta's revival. Gray had come to the square trying to buy them a new dress to make them feel more at ease.
  211.
  212. "As for what you can do, I'm broke. Have been since I was captured four years back. I ain't gonna ask for any fortune but enough to get the young interested in joining."
  213.
  214. It was simple, you had to eat if you wanted to live. So, if you worked for the church you'd need to be paid.
  215.
  216. "Astaria. . . Honored, huh?"
  217.
  218. After he'd spoke, he'd bite down on his lower lip. As if thinking about something, with a bit of effort he'd move past that and continue.
  219.
  220. "Well, I'd be honored if when the time come's you keep the executioners axe away from my throat."
  221.
  222. He'd clasp his fingers together a bit as if to beg at that last part.
  223.
  224. (Syracuse Fengari)
