  1. 1. "sethbling" was my AIM screen name in 9th grade. It was the name I used for my YouTube account about four years before I posted my first video. When I did post my first couple videos I didn't have any plan of gaining any popularity, but as more and more people subscribed, I didn't think it'd be prudent to throw away an account and lose what viewership I had gained.

  3. 2. I'm not sure what your definition of force is here. I started speedrunning Super Mario World about 8 months ago. I occasionally asked for help for some of the other any% runners and we gradually became friends. I posted videos occasionally when I would get PBs, like anyone else does. I practiced NSW a bit, though my time wasn't great, and I still plan on improving. The only difference between me and any other speedrunner in the community is that there are a lot more people who follow what I do.

  5. 3. If you don't like my fans, that's your prerogative. I don't see what it has to do with "hating sethbling".

  7. 4. I'm not sure what your definition of "legit world record" is if it doesn't include my former WR in Beautiful Katamari. I completed the game faster than anyone else had at that point, by playing it as intended. In Super Mario World, obviously it's a lot more debatable. I believe that my run constitutes a world record in the game, but I'm fine with disagreement here. I don't particularly mind if you don't consider me a world record holder in SMW. I will say that a lot of other people who are a big part of this community do.

  9. 5. Can you cite a single example of me bragging publicly about how much money I make on YouTube? I *never* publicly disclose anything about the amount that I make from my videos.

  11. 6. I wasn't told about any injuries/frostbite from that trip, but I'm sorry to hear about it. Either way, you must have a pretty broad definition of "indirectly" here. First of all, I was invited on the trip by Dram and no one else. He and I talked a lot during the trip, and I don't think he considered me a burden. Before I accepted, I made it clear that I needed to be back in time to host AGDQ, he indicated that it shouldn't be a problem, and that he'd drive me back if necessary. As far as being any sort of "indirect" cause on injury I can't even begin to imagine what you're talking about. Whenever any decision about what to do during that trip was brought up, the group was extremely indecisive. No one brought up objections to walking to the Capitol building, and a couple people wanted to see it. I do remember that when we were getting close someone thought it was going to take another half hour or something, which was not the case, maybe you think the extra 5 minutes we spent walking the rest of the way to the Capitol building was responsible for someone's injury/frostbite? I definitely did not put myself in charge of any decisions, and if someone felt that they were risking injury/frostbite, they certainly didn't speak up.

  13. 7. Lambby said that he was heading back anyway, and like I said earlier, I needed to be back in time to host AGDQ, so I caught a ride with him. I wasn't the only one to head back with him. There was absolutely no coercion here. Again, I don't know what you think I did to "make" everyone walk around in DC. We didn't even spend very long in DC, less than two hours of actually walking around. Also, how does one simultaneously coerce someone to leave and also make everyone stay around for an unreasonable amount of time?

  15. 8. Lambby got a parking ticket because he was parked in a spot for longer than the meter was fed for, which is obviously not my fault (nor is it his). I offered to pay for it, because I didn't think he should have to after driving us in and out. I attempted to pay for the ticket by using my phone on the ride home, but it had not entered the system yet, so I was unable to. Obviously he needed to hold onto the ticket, as it was his name on it, and I told him to poke me like a week later to pay it for him (once the ticket was in the system). He never did, and I forgot about it, but I'll be reaching out to him to make sure I can pay for it.

  17. 9. I *constantly* was crediting jeffw while I was learning the strat, and had a giant wall of text crediting him in most of the runs that I did, and in every video I posted, along with crediting him in the description. It was clear enough that even Kotaku was able to credit Jeffw for creating the setup, and they're usually awful about that sort of thing. Here's the very first broadcast I did for the credits warp: http://www.twitch.tv/sethbling/v/3686571. When I aired this broadcast, I had a spot in my FAQ directly crediting jeffw (I still do). I took a few minutes to pick out several of the times during that broadcast I credited jeffw for creating the setup: 3:04, at 9:17 I say that I didn't create the setup, 15:19, and 29:24, and that's just what I got by skimming through the first few minutes. I can't recall a single speedrunner complaining that I didn't credit jeffw for the setup.

  19. 10. You're probably right on this one, I'm not sure what you mean.
