[15:13:37] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The pilots sit in a waiting room before meeting the press. It's much like any other waiting room in the world--uncomfortable chairs, old magazines, a vending machine with a picture of a cosmonaut giving a thumbs up, et cetera.
11[15:14:46] * 00Li_Baiyue doesn't chant under her breath because she knows she shouldn't weird out the press but she is very, very, very nervous.
11[15:15:27] * 00Walter just seems a little dazed, staring out whatever windows there are in the room.
11[15:15:47] * 00Zaren doesn't look nervous at all, and seems rather comfortable in his fancy military clothing. Zaren is staring at the ceiling with an expressionless face, and occasionally takes a sip from a soda can.
11[15:16:08] * 00@Trenton is a little worried about walters condition; but nonetheless keeps a happy face.
11[15:16:12] * 00Li_Baiyue flips through a magazine, then reads it backwards, then shreds it into little pieces of magazine confetti.
[15:16:41] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The vending machine only has one variety of soda: A supposedly orange flavored concoction labeled 'NERV Cola'. It does taste somewhat like tang, but strangely enough reminds you of the entry plug beyond simply the color.

[15:20:37] <00Walter> "Of course it is. You didn't have to tell me."
11[15:20:57] * 00@Trenton looks at everyone "Remember, be on your best behavior." He wheels out, adjusting his tie.

11[15:21:34] * 00Li_Baiyue nods. Of course she didn't have to tell him.
[15:21:38] <00Li_Baiyue> "Are you ready?"
11[15:21:48] * 00Walter stands up, a little wobbly, pulling his hand away from Li and adjusting his own tie.
[15:21:54] <00Walter> "Yeah, whatever."
[15:22:13] <00Walter> "Let's get this done with."
04[15:23:39] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The stage beyond is, once more, like any other stage for a press conference. Even more uncomfortable chairs in the back for every one of the pilots, and a podium with a ramp--of course, Trenton will address questions before the children.
[15:24:24] <00Voice-Of-Reason> Upon further examination, the other end of the stage is occupied by the three captains that normally manage the bridge, plus Doctor Schultz.

[15:29:29] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Clearly this 'Angel' had a direct goal and intent, given its positioning and actions. Why exactly would you say it went straight for the base, if you can?"

Knowing there could be a probability of it trying to attack us gave us enough time to properly intercept it. However, there is no sign that we know of yet that this 'Angel' had a specific goal in mind, if it even has one."
[15:37:01] <00Voice-Of-Reason> He sits down and another emerges immediately after for a follow-up. "If it saw the base as the biggest threat, then would it be wise to presume that they may have some method of knowing our actions?" A murmur goes through the crowd.
11[15:38:27] * 00@Trenton chuckles, "Every animal has some method of detecting its predators, or at the very least, danger, does it not? It could be instinct for all we know right now."
[15:40:34] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The second reporter makes a face and also sits down. Another in the corner emerges. "On a different subject, the damage afterwards has been reported as incredibly heavy, especially the...hydraulic fluid leaking from the Evangelions. Is it really necessary to have the materials under such pressure, especially with how apparently thin the armor has proven to be?"
09[15:43:42] <00@Trenton> "I'm afraid that is a question for Doctor Schultz; While I am not as thoroughly briefed in the mechanics of how the Evangelions function, I'm sure he can answer your question, as I have complete faith in the mechanics of the Evas."
11[15:43:47] * 00Zaren snrks a little has he holds back a chuckle, shakes his head slightly, and takes a sip of his NERV Cola.
11[15:45:38] * 00Walter is still looking dazed as his stares out the window.
[15:45:52] <00Voice-Of-Reason> Schultz snorts a bit. "Ve have not underestimated Ze Angels. While thicker plating is possible, ist simply unreasonable to decrease ze pressure and remain operational." The reporter sits down and, after a while. another one comes up. "It's notable that you haven't made any particular efforts to collect the remains, even though they now started to dissolve. Do you feel you know enough about these things?"

09[15:50:30] <00@Trenton> "In my personal opinion? That is a rather silly question; we don't even know enough about ourselves, much less these creatures. It was only a few hundred years ago when the human race did not even understand our own biology, and even now we are still learning new things. Scientists will always do their bests to uncover the truth. Trust in us, we are making all the advances we can in understanding these creatures."
[15:52:40] <00Voice-Of-Reason> She makes a little hmph and sits don. Captain Jennings clears her throat. "Now, that'll be enough of that. I think it's due time the pilots got their say in it, wouldn't you?" A murmer of assent from the crwd.

11[15:56:01] * 00Zaren smiles a bit stupidly out towards the crowd, and takes another sip of his Nerv Cola.
[15:56:07] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Now, you dears feel free to answer questions one at a time." The captain takes her seat with a bit of a creak, and a reporter in a rather bright and garish suit and skirt stands up. That and the pin clearly mark her as a speaker for Congratulations! "Yeah, firs up: You two. You're holding hands; when did this happen? Is there anything special there? How much are you allowed to do by Nerv?"

[15:57:09] <00Walter> "Yeah, fine, whatever... It's... What was the question?"
[15:57:40] <00Walter> "Leggo," he says as he pulls away from Li, finally ready to answer.
[15:57:43] <00Voice-Of-Reason> She rolls her eyes. "I'm asking how long you two have been dating."

[15:58:18] <00Walter> "What? Dating?"
11[15:58:37] * 00@Trenton tries not to grin, holding a hand over his mouth

[15:59:06] <00Voice-Of-Reason> She makes a bit of an 'aww' noise and sits back down. "That's fine."
[15:59:27] <00Li_Baiyue> "There is nothing going on. W-we....It's been a stressful time for all of us."
[15:59:42] <00Li_Baiyue> "A-a-a-and sometimes we just need to stick together."

[16:00:21] <00Voice-Of-Reason> A more stern-looking old man in the back clears his throat. You can almost hear the jowls flapping. "It certainly is, young miss. On a more PROPER subject, has any disciplinary action been announced in light of your reckless actions?"

11[16:01:39] * 00Li_Baiyue 's shoulders go all tense. "I'm afraid I cannot comment on such a matter at this time.'
11[16:01:58] * 00Walter leans back in his chair, a little smoother now that he's paying a little more attention, "Why should they yell at us? We killed the Angel, right?"
[16:02:21] <00Voice-Of-Reason> He scowls. "Even though it was YOUR unit that blew open a skyscraper when scrambling for cover?"
[16:03:17] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Its crashing down penetrated a bunker and killed 84 people."
[16:03:23] <00Li_Baiyue> "I'm afraid I cannot comment on such a matter at this time."
[16:04:03] <00Walter> "Well it was gonna explode anyway. I had to get out of there and save the Eva."
[16:04:21] <00Voice-Of-Reason> A red light turns on, covering the stage and the whole room. The man snorts and sits down.

[16:12:33] <00Voice-Of-Reason> He raises an eyebrow. "Oh? How much, from what? See, we aren't all unaffected." He's got the widest of shit-eating grins on his face now.

[16:16:26] <00Voice-Of-Reason> He sits down, and a thinner...you can't quite make out the gender, and its legs are covered, anyway it has huge, thick glasses on and it stands up.
[16:17:14] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Uh, yes, the pilot of Unit 00. Were you particularly, er, disappointed that you were unable to launch? What did it feel like being stuck there?"
[16:19:11] <00Zaren> "It was very disappointing. I've been training for so long, but I didn't even get a chance to do anything. There's always next time, I guess."
[16:19:37] <00Voice-Of-Reason> It seems sort of scared and shrinks back to its seat. "Y-yes, next time."
11[16:20:16] * 00Zaren smiles at the ... person.
[16:21:02] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The girl from Congratulations! stands up again. "Hey, yeah, exactly how does it feel to pilot in general?"
[16:21:19] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Like, how does the cockpit work, what does it feel like, what kinda sensation do you get?"

11[16:22:12] * 00Walter turns towards the Congratulations Woman with a big smile, "Now that's my kind of question. It's the weirdest feeling in the world. But it's also kinda neat."
[16:22:31] <00Voice-Of-Reason> "Could you, like, elaborate?"
11[16:22:51] * 00@Trenton speaks up "I'm afraid there are some questions even we can't answer just yet. hopefully when the threat of invasion is fully over, we can shed some light."
[16:22:53] <00Zaren> "No. That's a very rude question."
[16:22:54] <00Walter> "It's like... you can feel like your arm is there, right? But you can also feel the Eva's arm, like you've got two bodies at once."
11[16:23:24] * 00@Trenton chuckles, "And apparently, Walter here is having some trouble describing it himself."
[16:23:46] <00Walter> "And the feeling of breathing liquid is uncomfortable at first, but then it just starts to feel... nice. Like you're melting or something."
[16:24:33] <00Voice-Of-Reason> She rolls her eyes and sits back down. Captain Jennings gets up before anyone else. "That'll be enough, I think. Now the science team can handle questions, I know you've had some things for them."

[16:25:38] <00Voice-Of-Reason> The rest of the conference went without incident and soon enough everyone crams into the car. It's a bit of a long drive home.
[16:26:15] <00Voice-Of-Reason> Hope nobody has to pee, NERV Cola can go through you twice as fast as water. Of course, it always seems like there's less going out than went in.

[16:40:42] <00Voice-Of-Reason> It isn't that much more of a drive to your destination, and you file out easily enough. The house's paint seems to be scraped off when you get there, at least from the front, but nothing else seems touched.
