- from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #678
- -------------------------
- >Anon. I'm taking your walkie talkie. You tried to trigger Husk's PTSD by pretending to be a shot soldier behind enemy lines. You worked up Al by pretending to be a policeman on the hunt for a srial kller. You also said hmphbic and hurtful things to Angel.
- -
- >When rooting through an old storeroom for Christmas decorations for the hotel, you come across a box of walkie talkies marked, ‘ALASTOR’S PROPERTY’ and ‘DO NOT TOUCH, OR BE DEVOURED’
- >Oh this is rich.
- >You could have so much fun with these.
- >You spend an hour or so planting the walkie talkies in places they wouldn’t be discovered.
- >One amongst a nestle of bottles under Husk’s bar.
- >One put with the strewn about radio equipment in Alastor’s drawing room.
- >You went a bit further afield for the last one.
- >You trekked to Angel’s work, and stuck one in his dressing room.
- >You told him it was a mistake to give you that key, after you kept an eye on Nuggets backstage while he was working one night.
- >As Husk is serving in the bar for a function at the Hotel, you’re fixing up something inconspicuous for him.
- >You flick the walkie-talkie out of your pocket, activate the slider and speak into it.
- SARGE! THIS IS DELTA-DELTA! THE EVAC TEAM HAS GOTTEN OUT BUT... I HAD TO GIVE MYSELF UP AS A DISTRACTION! I CAN’T HOLD OUT MUCH LONGER I-
- >You mimic gunshots and screaming.
- >You watch Husk from across the room, who wasn’t paying attention until now.
- >His eyes bug out and starts muttering to himself.
- >’No that wasn’t me I- I DIDN’T DO THAT I’M NOT BACK THERE’
- >Heads of demons turn and look at him behaving oddly.
- >He jumps on the bar, tail smacking against the wood.
- >’ALRIGHT YOU COMIE BSTARDS! COME AND GET A PIECE OF ME IF YOU THINK YOU’RE UP TO IT!’
- >He draws an M16.
- >Hell, where did he get that from? Angel?
- >You duck under a table as he starts firing indescriminantely.
- >A herd of demons scream and make for the door whilst some try to tackle him.
- >He guns those unfortunates down.
- >Poor fks.
- >You crawl, prone towards the door to the bar.
- >A pair of feet step in front of you.
- >It’s Charlie.
- >She’s in her demon form.
- >’HUSK WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?’
- >Time to book it out of there.
- -
- >Alastor is sat in his drawing room enjoying his wine amongst company.
- >Some sort of bonding exercise according to Charlie.
- >She’d noticed that patrons were afraid of him, and wanted to make him less scary.
- >So they’d all agreed to spend an evening being in his company.
- >Alastor cooked, served up banter, and kept the wine and conversation flowing.
- >You wanted no part of it, because you had plans of your own.
- >Once upon a time, Alastor had told you about what got sent him to Hell.
- >He was a srial killer when he was alive.
- >And he told you about his first and last vctims.
- >Naturally, you couldn’t let such juicy information go to waste.
- >This was about six months ago.
- ‘Station, this is Patrol Car 713-Echo. I’m following up Case 3C. Yes, those spate of mrders. Think I’ve got a lead.’
- >You describe the details of Alastor’s vctims. The way he said he mrdered them, the way he left the body of his last for the Police to find.
- >You see his ears tweak. He’s getting nervous. Good.
- >Then, you have another bright idea.
- >Just once, when Alastor had too much of the wine, he found a box of old photos from his time alive on Earth when he went back up and made a deal with some living schmuck for something. He has his soul now, you think.
- >But in that box, there was a photo of him.
- >Alive.
- >So you describe him.
- ‘Yes, Station. That’s him. Confirmed. I have him in my sights. Going to execute the warrant. Use the dogs? Right on it.’
- >You mimic dogs barking and tearing of flesh.
- >Alastor’s done. His smile cracks into a frown. The frown turns to anger. He’s never not smiled when he was angry.
- >’Who in the Nine Circles is making that noise? It is. Beginning to. Annoy me.’
- >Everyone shrugs.
- >’WHERE IS IT?’
- >Everyone looks unsettled. Alastor has never behaved like this before.
- >’Everybody out.’
- >’Now.’
- >Garbled radio chatter and his eyes turning to dials says it all.
- >This is too fking easy, you think.
- -
- >Angel is at work tonight, or so he says.
- >Naturally, you were going to have fun with that walkie talkie you stashed in his dressing room.
- >You text him about going out for a drink after work.
- >Just something to gague where he is.
- >Meanwhile, Valentino is blls deep in your asshle.
- >'Angel baby, come on. You know you want this.
- >You grunt and refuse to dignify him with a response.
- >You're Angel Dust.
- >You're wanted and desired throughout all of Hell.
- >He may be your boss, but you don't have to answer him.
- >Fk him.
- >All of a sudden, as things have gone quiet and all you can hear is the clap of Val's hips against your ass, you hear a static chime.
- >"God, Angel. You're such a ft. Your Dad was right to kill you because you're such a st, and this is the reason he hates you. He hates the fact his son is a pofter and you don't realise that. You ruined his reputation. Oh, and your toes are fing DISGUSTING, too. I don't know how you stand to see them every day. No one would fk anyone who had digits like you do. '
- >The hell WAS that?
- >Val noticed.
- >'Angel, was that you?'
- 'Uh, no, Boss.'
- >You reply, with trepidation in your voice.
- >The static happens again and the mystery voice comes back.
- >'You know what? I bet you would just beg to fk me because you're such a whe, you blody fairy.'
- >'I'm not taking this sht.'
- >Valentino pushes your further onto your dresser and yells at seemingly thin air.
- >'HEY! WISEASS! I DON'T TAKE SHT TALKING ABOUT MY EMPLOYEES LIGHTLY! YOU BEST HOPE I NEVER FIND YOU, OR YOUR GUTS WILL BE LINING MY STAGES TILL THE END OF FKIN' TIME, AND I'LL HAVE YOUR OCK STUFFED AND PUT ON DISPLAY!'
- >All the both of you hear is a bellyful of laughter.
- >'You're such a quer too, bossman. Don't think you're excluded from this discussion'
- >'I DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THIS SHT FROM YOU! I WILL FKING FIND YOU'
- >'Shut it you piece of moth sht. Go find another employee to fk.'
- >'GAH!'
- >Valentino finally lost it.
- -
- >Hooo, that was fun.
- >You even made Angel cry because of the things you said about his Dad and Fat Nuggets not loving him.
- >And Alastor and Husk?
- >They were just the cherry on top.
- >Baiting those reactions out of those fks felt GOOD.
- >You giggle to yourself.
- >You'll never let them live this down.
- >Charlie sticks her head around the door.
- >'Hey, Anon?'
- 'Yes, Charlie?'
- >'Have you seen Alastor's walkie-talkies? I wanted to co-opt them into being used for the staff, but I can't find them. There were... 4 of them I think? They're not in their box.'
- >Your blood freezes like ice.
- >Shit.
- 'I dunno, Charlie. I'm sure they'll turn up.'
- >She appears again.
- >'Well, I hope they do. We already had enough with Husk's little stunt the other week, and Alastor losing his cool at that get together we planned.'
- >'Say, how come you weren't at that? I expected everyone there.'
- 'I was, uh..... BUSY. Yes, um, had to help Niffty with the garden.'
- >'But Niffty was there, Anon.'
- >Sweat starts to trickle down your temple.
- >'There's something you aren't telling me, isn't there?'
- >Your eyes dart around, desparate for a distraction.
- >'You took those walkie-talkies didn't you? And caused all that mess. We thought it was the intercom system on the blink...'
- >Charlie shakes her head.
- >'Well, you're grounded.'
- >Grounded?
- >'You're not to leave the Hotel without an escort, and I'll have someone keep an eye on you at all times for 2 weeks to make sure you're keeping out of trouble.'
- 'YOU CAN'T DO THAT CHARLIE! WHAT ABOUT MY PLANS WITH CHERRI BO-'
- >'They'll have to be called off I'm afraid.'
- 'But I made a promise to her.'
- >'Yes. Before you started messing with everybody.'
- >Now.
- >Go to your room.
- 'But I-'
- >'NOW!'
- >'Yes, boss...'
- >You trudge up the stairs to your room.
- >Fk.
- >But it was worth it, wasn't it?
- >Yes.
- >Yes it was.
- FIN(?)
- -
- >that night, you're awaken by noise
- >turning in the bed, still half asleep, you see three figures towering over you, with a fourth one in the background
- >even in the darkness, you can make out just who they are
- >though you should be frozen in fear, your interrupted sleep makes you grouchy instead
- "Oh... Here for retribution, 'ey?"
- >the three figures don't reply, but the fourth one does - her voice surprises you
- >"I don't believe in paying evil unto evil..." Charlie began "...But I'm VERY disappointed in you, Anon."
- >you know you should shut up, or beg for mercy
- >but instead, what comes out of your mouth is
- "Why? 'Cause I made them face their own sins?"
- >you can hear Husk growl, Alastor begin to emit a static whine, and Angel cursing under his breath in Italian
- >but what you focus on is the two red eyes with glowing, white irises, staring into your soul
- >it's brightest source of light in the otherwise dark room, outshining Al's radio dial eyes
- "I thought this Hotel was about redemption."
- >you really can't shut up
- "They'll have to face their faults and failures. Better sooner than later."
- >"Oh?"
- >Charlie's voice is eerily calm
- >it's cold
- >you never heard her like this
- >"Like how a certain someone should face the consequences of his own actions, for being a foul-mouthed, gutless coward, after preying upon the pains and fears of others?"
- >she's leaning above you, looking right into your eyes
- >it hurts
- >"A coward, who spent his life behind a monitor, heckling others for his own amusement?"
- >God, it hurts
- >"A nobody, who's only purpose in life was to become the pain and annoyance of others?"
- >why does it hurt so much?
- >it's like your...
- >your soul
- >it's burning!
- >Charlie withdraws
- >horns out, eyes red...
- >gaze as cold as the ice holding Satan
- >"Time for you to face your sins, Anon." she says, with a smile in her voice
- >it makes your stomach lurch
- -
- >as she passes through the door, she calls back over her should to the three men:
- >"Leave enough of him so that he can still reform. If anyone asks, he's STILL grounded."
- >grounded
- >wait
- >you'll have to stay here until you reform
- >you'll be helpless
- >and these three...
- >Alastor's usual grin has been replaced with a snarl
- >Husk and Angel are angry, but there's pain in their eyes
- >pain that you've reminded them of
- >pain that they'll now pass onto you
- >as the blonde leaves the room, another voice calls in
- >it's Vaggie
- >"Twelve hours."
- >you quickly realize she wasn't addressing you
- >"You get twelve hours." she repeats, and when neither of the men reply, she just closes the door
- >leaving you in the darkness, with them
- >you'd move, but the tentacles have already bound you
- >"Welcome to Hell, kid..." Husk croaks as something wooden - is that bamboo? - clatters in his arms
- >as your last act of defiance, you let out the most deliberately tired. bored-sounding sigh you can muster
- >your own body calls your bluff, as your breath becomes shaky by the end
- >this'll be the longest twelve hours of your damned afterlife
- >you regret
- >but only that you got found out
