Demonic Survivor: part 2

“Can you hear me Devon?” a voice called out.
The boy opened his eyes slowly. Before him were the ruins of his home city. He looked around and could make out the remains of people sticking out from the rubble.
“W-What happened? Why's everyone dead??”
“What you see now is what will happen if you fail to act.”
“Who said that?”
Devon spun around, searching for the source of the voice. Suddenly, a bright light enveloped his vision. After recovering from the flash, he saw a beautiful woman standing before him.
“I am the goddess Parvati.” The woman bowed her head, “I have answered your call for power.”
“C-Call for power?”
“Yes. For the trials my fellow Trimurti, Laksmi, warned you of.”
Suddenly, flashes of a disaster ran through Devon's mind.
“Y-You're talking about that incident, huh?”
“That's right. Soon, demons will run rampant through your home.”
She pointed off towards a pile of corpses. Atop of them, a slimy skeletal creature was busy devouring one of them.
“Only those who have been gifted with power such as mine,” She stuck out her arm. A cloud of mist formed around her palm before an icicle shot out and killed the monster, who immediately froze and shattered into pieces, “Can defeat them.”
“S-So you're lending me your power?”
“That is correct.” She slowly moved towards Devon and brought him into a hug, “So do not be afraid of what happens next. Face your fears head-on, and prevent this future.”

“Devon! Sean! Wake up, please!”
Yuuki panicked as she saw a mob of monsters approach her. She tried to wake her friends again, but to no avail.
“Oh no, what am I going to do?!”
“[Ahh, fresh meat!]”
The girl shrieked as a slimy creature forced its way into their hiding place.
“Stay back!”
“Geeze, are you really going to let yourself get bullied by these guys?”
Suddenly. A small, winged girl appeared in front of Yuuki.
“Ah, you're—!”
“Oh, so you do remember.” The fairy smirked, “So that means you recall my gift, right?'
“[You got such a scrawny girl for a master, Pixie. She's practically a cutting board.”
Electricity began to crackle in Yuuki's fingertips as her fear turned into fury.
“Zio.” She said with a firm voice. A bolt of lightning shot out from her hand and decimated the poor demon, whose remains splattered around the room.
“Nice shot! The punk deserved it.”
The sounds of more demons approaching could be heard.
“Ready to keep fighting?' Pixie asked.
Yuuki nodded, “Let them come.”
“Well here they come girl. No survivors!”
The horde of Slimes raided the room. Despite their numbers, Yuuki weaved through them, zapping at the horde whenever she could.
“Augh!”
But their numbers proved to be too great for her, and thus found herself cornered before long.
“Shit, we're in hot water and low on Magic.” Pixie commented, “Any ideas?”
“I have one! Gram Slice!”
Suddenly, the slimes were cleaved apart. Behind the massacred group, Sean stood with a smirk on his face.
“Sean! I've never been more happy to see you.”
“Same.”
Sean held out his hand and helped the girl back up.
“How did you do that anyways?”
“I would be the reason.”
Behind Sean, a handsome man wearing turquoise armor appeared.
“I am Tam Lin, guardian of this man.”
“So he's the same as Pixie.”
Sean cocked his head,
“Pixie?”
“That'd be me, buddy!”
The little fairy rested on Sean's shoulders, her little hands massaging his shoulders.
“You've got nice shoulders, you know that?”
“Barking up the wrong tree.” he said bluntly.
Pixie huffed before flying back towards Yuuki.
“So what does that little fairy give you anyways?”
“Aside from electricity?” The girl clasped her hands and a warm light enveloped her. To Sean;s surprise, the wounds that covered Yuuki's body vanished in an instant, “Healing magic.”
“Geeze, you're already a natural. Are you sure you aren't one of them?” Sean teased,
“Shut up!”
