BACKGROUND → arisa grew up in japan for most of her life, in the city of fujioka. she lived a normal life–a good life–up until her powers presented themselves. a few days after she turned 8, it happened unexpectedly. she can never remember what triggered it, not wholly at least; only flashes come when she tries to remember that night. her pretty night dress that her mother gifted her, the hand brushing along her legs, hushed words of "it's okay, don't scream"–their screams. the only clear image is her uncle on the floor, blood trickling from his eyes, nose, ears, and her mother at the doorway wondering what her little girl had done. it was all downhill from there. since her mother was close to her (now deceased) brother, she had fallen into a state of alcoholic depression, causing mood swings and aggression all pointed towards the little girl that didn't even know what she had done that night. her father had tried to protect her, at first, but soon he had given up on trying to stop the drunken woman. after years of verbal abuse, arisa couldn't take it anymore, and she had (accidentally) lashed out, causing her mother to go into a series of epileptic fits. knowing that his daughter would be detained and (probably) experimented on for her powers, her father called the person he knew would know what to do: the headmistress of the conservatory. after she was taken away by the headmistress, she never heard from or about her original family ever again–arisa assumed that she had been disowned, or something of the matter. for being "too dangerous". what she does know from her rebellious 13-year-old phase, was that her mother had become a paraplegic after the incident. another discovery she had made that day was her father's "quirk". he had been a freak, just like her–the ability to control shadows–but had kept it from her all this time. betrayed and confused, arisa began to train harder. become better than the rest of the conservatory, even the staff; that was her goal. and she succeeded. top of her class, dangerous and ready to take down any threat with just a twitch of her finger. only, when she had told her adoptive mother that she wanted to set out on her own and live a normal life like a normal almost-adolescent girl, the headmistress declined. locked her away in isolation for months after she fought (and killed) multiple of the guards that had tried to take her back to her dormitory. something snapped in her, then, and she managed to escape. a defect. members the battalion had found her fighting guards, practically on her last gasp of air after being left for dead by the headmistress. the two members had taken her in, and granted her asylum with the battalion.

PERSONALITY → since her original family had given her away quite early in her life and the headmistress didn't have the best maternal instincts, arisa had grown to become an independent individual, who is quite stubborn and persistent when it comes to doing what she wants. ever the ambitious woman, if she's not the top of the food chain, she'll break every bond above her until she is. she knows how to survive on her own, and knows the skills she possesses outside of her powers. she is someone that is heavily introverted because of spending most of her childhood and teenage years basically alone–arisa grew to prefer it that way, and is extremely quiet around most people. she only talks when she feels it important to, and is usually straight-to-the-point. others are intimidated not just by her silence, but also because of her ruthlessness. arisa tends to lose herself in the adrenaline when she uses her powers–even when she's only sparring some inanimate object. it doesn't help that she's a moody person, easily frustrated if you even breathe the wrong way around her. despite that, she is still a rational human being, who knows what the right time and place is to let out her irritation (that doesn't spare the person from a nice serving of snarky comments, though). her clinical nature makes her one of the most dangerous opponents, and trickiest allies; you never know what she's thinking.

POWERS →
  • STAIN
    – considering that she's an extremely moody person (by moody, it's mostly just easily irritated), arisa is quite dangerous if her mental state is unstable. if she's having a bad day, it's best to stay away from the chaos that's ready to burst from her fingertips.
    – funnily enough, if she uses too much of her chaos magic, she'll begin to feel the afflictions that she causes. even though it's never gotten to a dangerous point, if her magic has no more extra energy to siphon, it'll begin to take from her own energy, and she'll start to feel pain as well (ie. if she's trying to burst a stomach with no energy left, she starts to feel pain in her own stomach). luckily, she knows her limits; the worst that's happened is her having a migraine alone with everyone else in the battalion.
    – outside of fighting, she really only uses her powers to shut people up by giving them a migraine, but that's about it. she also often goes along with RM to intimidate people during interrogation
    – she definitely prefers using her powers from a distance, but there's really no difference, with her basically groomed to be the perfect soldier and all.

  • ENCOUNTER
    – though her moods don't affect her water manipulation, thunder can be heard if you annoy her. or if she's getting frustrated. she can't really do anytbing big with her weather manipulation.
    – imagine a water gun.... but it's like.... almost empty so it only squirts like tiny drops if she exerts herself.
    – oh BOY does she!! she likes to use her water manipulation for menial things like heating up baths, or having cold water to drink at hand pretty much any time she needs it. if it's raining outside, she'll use her slight weather manipulation to make sure she doesn't get wet (to hell with everyone else though).
    – since making water have an impact from far distances is a difficult task, arisa prefers to use her powers in close range.

HOW THEY ACT AROUND EACH OTHER → there's a lot of /unspoken tension/. of course, not in their opinion, but the people around them beg to differ; "you can feel the sexual tension miles away" as some would say. the two always act like an off-again-on-again couple, teasing and arguing and a l o t of intense (sort of competitive??) staring. being two of the strongest people in the battalion, it's not a surprise that they unconsciously try to one-up each other on... pretty much everything, even outside of the battlefield. although he could /never/ surpass her body count, he does like to show off during training, or try and pull rank during meetings. it's kind of their "thing". nobody wants to deal with it when they start bickering, but arisa and he... are intimidating, to say the least. and actually kind of cute, though no one will tell that to their face. they're /that/ power duo that people  either are intimidated by, look up to, or a mixture of both. there's no ill intentions in their arguments, though sometimes it can seem like there is. sure, arisa gets incredibly frustrated and has to refrain from using her powers against him because he'll do the favour right back, but it's all fine. promise (not really).
