- You need both sugar and salt right
- So maybe you find a whole bunch of white powders in the Earl's car
- And you get him to taste them and he comes up with memories
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- ha ha
- Pangur Ban says:
- And you have to correlate those to his stories to figure out which is which
- Because he is an Earl and obvs they're debauched as hell
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- ha ha
- Pangur Ban says:
- Therefore loads of white powders
- But yeah like
- You give him salt and he is like "Oh my, the Afghans are attacking! Tally ho, chaps!"
- And then you ask him of his stories and he is like "Oh yes, I remember eating nothing but salted pork during my time in the Afghan wars, what!"
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- oh i see
- kk
- Pangur Ban says:
- Then you give him opium and he is like "Ho ho, quite right Miss Stoat, you *are* a scandalous young lady!"
- And he talks about the time he took opium with the delightfully forward wench Miss Stoat
- When you ask him of stories etc
- So you could have four powders, and four stories.
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- ha ha great.. heroin
- Pangur Ban says:
- His time in the war, fond memories of young ladies, business ventures and childhood recollections or something.
- Oh come on man, opium was commonplace back then
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- Pangur Ban says:
- You could buy bottles of heroin to keep you in good health from the pharmacy
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- fair point
- Pangur Ban says:
- And it makes for a simple puzzle but fun, and you get to add fun dialog in.
- So there's four little bags of white powder when you interact with the car trunk ^_^
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- kk
- Pangur Ban says:
- Bun304 wins again ^_^
- And of course, once you have heard the story, and you try the bag on Robin, Vole marks it in his inventory.
- "ah, this must be the salt"
- He can also have flour, and fond memories of making tea cakes with the maid before he was old enough to realize that such things were below his station ^_^
- I love it when puzzles allow you to add story to a character like this
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- hmm there isnt really much of a puzzle
- vole solves it for you
- Pangur Ban says:
- Yeah
- But you gotta figure out that you feed the powder to Earl
- And you gotta figure out that you relate it to his stories
- Ain't puzzling, but it is gameplay
- And with funny writing, satisfying gameplay ^_^
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- kk
- Pangur Ban says:
- It'd be nice if he goes a bit bonkers each time you feed him a powder.
- Obviously Baron Vole won't touch the powders.
- Who knows what sort of foreign substances Earl Robin keeps upon him?
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- fair point yea kk
- Pangur Ban says:
- So for Urchin Ducky
- We need some things that a true englishman favours.
- A pipe, obvs
- Perhaps a teapot ^_^
- And a cricket bat haha
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- ^_^
- Pangur Ban says:
- That's all pretty english stuff
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- yes, that is all we ever do
- Pangur Ban says:
- ^___^
- Thought so
- Have you ever even smoked a pipe?
- I have
- They're foul
- But of course I was all "HO HO!" when smoking it
- Actually, with the powders thing
- When you try it on Robin, and he's like "Ho ho, you are a naughty thing miss stoat!"
- You could have Baron Vole go "Hmm, I guess this is..."
- And then four dialog options with "Sugar, Salt, Flour, Opium"
- And if you click the right one he's like "Ah yes, he talked of taking opium with that voluptuous wench Miss Stoat"
- Otherwise he's like "Hmm, I see nothing that points to it being sugar"
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- yea ok
- Pangur Ban says:
- Hoorah
- Haha with the sugar
- He could talk about his arch nemesis
- How he went to visit Colonel Hawk one time and the fiend put too much sugar in his tea, blast him!
- And when he tries the sugar he can be all "Colonel Hawk! I will get you, rapscallion!"
- stevie_guy4@hotmail.com says:
- ha ha yea sounds good
