  7. • Silas and Wheaton (the Volbeat) started their day at Loch and Sea Boat Repair in their Hoenn hometown, Lilycove City. They helped Silas’s dad fix up a boat for a client from Johto that had a necessary module missing for it to run. The module socket looked to be torn/stolen from the console.

  9. • After his dad used the story of his deceased mother to hike up the price of the client, Silas decided that was his last job at Loch and Sea Boat Repair. He stormed off to the Department Store to get another module.
  10.  
  11. • At the Department Store, Silas ran into the cashier he used to work with, Marianne. She gave Silas some advice about his previous dream to be a trainer and a Pokeball returned to the store.

  13. • On his way back to Loch and Sea with the new module, the dockyard is attacked by Team Aqua. Through the commotion of Aqua plundering the freight, Silas took the opportunity to steal one of their idling boats.

  15. • Once he had gone out a few hundred feet, a girl appeared on the boat. She had been captured by Team Aqua and had been stowed on the boat tied to the anchor by her leg.

  17. • Team Aqua gave chase to Silas. Wheaton helped fight off a Sharpedo. Aqua ultimately flipped the boat with a Dhelmise.

  20. Chapter 2

  23. • Silas woke up in a cell. His stuff was there but it was all water logged in a heap. He cursed that he had a hand in the death of the girl tied to the anchor.

  25. • Silas recounted the first time he met Wheaton after a dark night on Route 123. They escaped a gang of Mightyena by hiding in a secret base.

  27. • To escape the cell, Silas tried to put the willing Volbeat in the Pokéball he got from Marianne. But it wouldn’t work because a Pokémon is already inside! A Lotad.

  29. • Anastasios, the new leader of Team Aqua (Ex-Aqua), interrogated Silas. He was impressed with his skill in overclocking the boat to give them a good chase. Anastasios asked Silas to join Ex Team Aqua as their mechanic. Silas was hesitant given he wanted to move away from being a mechanic for a while and Ex-Aqua is into some serious crime.

  31. • Anastasios was interrupted by Professor Adler. He differed Silas to her care to see if the Professor could convince Silas to join up willingly.

  33. • Professor Adler turned out to be Silas’s old Physics Professor from Lilycove University. Silas was expelled and Adler was fired.

  36. Chapter 3

  39. • Professor Adler showed Silas around Aqua Cove and explained Ex-Aqua’s current situation. About four years ago, Archie went missing and a giant red orb appeared in the middle of the cove. Anastasios revived Team Aqua and created a criminal refuge and black market between Lilycove and Mossdeep.

  41. • Professor Adler took Silas to her lab to patch him up from the boating incident earlier. There was an odd Dratini chained to one of the med bay cots. Beside it sat the wounded girl that supposedly drowned in Chapter 1, Coleen.

  43. • Coleen explained that she ran into Ex-Aqua when trying to stop a Silph Co. shipment of Deoxys DNA egg incubators from being shipped out of the Lilycove dockyard. She and her father had created the prototypes, but they didn't work properly and weren’t ready for consumers. Silph Co was rushing them to market. Coleen’s Dratini had been one of the experiments that went wrong. Ex-Aqua offered to help her, and ended up keeping her for ransom. Coleen doesn’t want to go back home because it would mean her father would make her continue her work manipulating Pokémon.

  45. • Anastasios entered the lab and leveled with Silas that he’d only need to stay 6 months as Ex-Aqua’s mechanic before he could leave. Silas asked that Coleen be let go. Anastasios agreed on the condition that Silas wins a battle.

  47. • The Ex-Aqua leader pitted Silas and Wheaton against Archie’s old Crawdaunt in a cage match in an underground grotto. Silas and Wheaton got absolutely mangled, but managed to put the Crawdaunt on its last legs. The Lotad appeared and delivered the final blow, evolving into Lombre on the spot.

  49. • Coleen and Silas, both in casts from broken bones, worked together at Aqua Cove to repair a few boats and talked about their futures. Coleen was free to go. But with Ex-Aqua, there were more opportunities to stop more shipments of the Silph Co Deoxys incubator prototypes. Silas had to stick around for a while, and Ex-Aqua might just let him ride along for the next shipment hit.
