I had no intention of making a statement or responding in regards to what happened, because I still stand by how I chose to proceed but I've been getting more and more people asking me why I made the decision I did. I also want to clarify what exactly I did, since there seems to be some confusion about people thinking anyone was banned.

I'm sure most of you are aware by now that there was briefly a channel named #gd2-equals-banned, and in the channel description there was a very short list of rules... only one actually. Don't bring /r/FFBE drama into the channel. Immediately after making the channel 4 people came into it and for lack of a better term "baited me" by saying "GD2 GD2 HAHA." One of those people was Nasty. I ignored it initially, until he called me a hypocrite and said that "By saying don't talk about GD2 you're talking about GD2." At that point I deleted every message containing anything related to GD2 or the other server, and then I removed Nasty's ability to send messages in that channel. To clarify, he was not banned from the server nor was anyone else. The ban list to this day still remains completely empty. I gave him a role that had every normal permission except with a restriction removing his ability to send messages to the #gd2-equals-banned channel.

When Nasty found out that I removed his ability to send messages in said channel he acted as if he had done nothing wrong, and played the "haha it was just a joke" card. You can see what exactly was said by searching his message history and typing "joke." It was the last thing he said before leaving the server.

Like I said, I stand by what I did. For the first few days I did actually second guess myself and think maybe I did go too far, but if I'm honest the only mistake I made was not bringing up the way he tried to provoke people constantly and watched it happen. Rule #1 of the server is have fun but not anyone else's expense, and it's no secret he loves to "push people's buttons."

Since this is probably going to be the last update I post to this channel, or anywhere I'm going to be completely honest. The reason I made the channel in the first place is because I got tired of being pulled into the drama constantly. I would never try and force other people not to talk about things they clearly enjoyed talking about, so instead I made one channel where you could talk about anything except the /r/FFBE Discord.

I made the channel after having left that server, and being one step away from leaving this one. I made the decision to remove myself from a toxic situation that was affecting me personally, but when I did people then brought that toxicity right back to me. I won't name names because there's always the possibility that these people didn't know the effect of their actions, but I will say that at the end of the day we all have the right to make decisions for ourselves. I've made the decision to now disengage entirely. I will respond if you come to me first, but I will not be actively participating in any server going forward.

Also, as a part of being totally honest I will say that I have not made any effort whatsoever to reconcile anything with any of the people who have left because I no longer care enough. I used to care a lot. I cared enough to spend an entire day cloning the old server when I had the feeling that Cyra was going to nuke it. I don't anymore. As I said when I made this server I will never nuke it unless I'm the only one left, but it will no longer take my attention every day.

I take full responsibility for not explaining sooner the reason why I added the channel, and I take full responsibility for not making sure everyone was crystal clear that the name was not a meme, and that discussing GD2 in that channel would result in being banned from the channel. Sorry for letting you's all down, but I'm done.
