- David had never really been good at doing social things, as was the case with so many people in the day and age within which he lived. Since the internet had become a thing, it had become easier to never need to deal with people, to just be able to sit at home, talk to people over the internet and only go out to work or buy food to keep the cupboard stocked up.
- However, he was very aware that sitting at a computer all day was not the healthiest way to spend his time, and he had finally managed to be dragged away from his computer to go and meet a real, living human. Of course, this had not been any easy feet, and the only force that had been strong enough to drag him out into the real world was love.
- Ah, love. Love was a very strange emotion. It was one of the purest emotions there was, and yet it had led to wars and it was one of the main causes for men and women doing insanely stupid things. All because of that feeling of butterflies in your belly that brought forth so much joy when you were around the person you cared so much for.
- And this was likely why he never went outside. Whenever he did go outside, his mind would start racing, going to darker and darker places until he ended up having a panic attack and being driven back into his home and safety. It sounded bad, it might have been bad, and maybe he needed to go and see a therapist.
- But for now, he had Jack. Jack was his source of butterflies, the man who when he was around made his heart leap with joy and his belly felt like he had eaten a whole nest of the flapping, necter eating insects. He had met them online, of course, but then they had gone on several dates before this.
- The first of these, he had been too scared to go out in public to meet the man he had fallen head over heels in love with, but that was OK. Jack had understood and had come to his house!
