The People: "We want change!"

The People kept knocking on the door and the Dems kept saying "nobody home," so the people burned down the house. Maybe not the wisest choice but perfectly understandable.

When the Party of the People didn't listen to the people they voted with their feet. I didn't say it was a good idea since the GOP will screw the people even more, but what did the Dems expect? For the collapsing middle class to continue voting for a bunch of liars who did nothing to stop their slide? The wage-increase movement was sparked by workers and carried out by states. The National Democratic Party didn't do a thing about it. They hid from it. They are Corporate Captives as much as the Republicans. Just not quite as nasty.

Then the Dems claimed Bernie was a "radical." He's about as radical as wingtip shoes. Bernie was just an old-style FDR liberal - it's just that Bill Clinton drove the Dems so far to the right that ideas right out of the 1940s amazed them. What a moribund party of dying fogies.

I am reminded of Martin Luther King. The truth is, the NAACP and the Democratic Party didn't like him and wanted him to go back to preaching. They wanted that good old go-slow, business-as-usual approach that hadn't worked in a hundred years. As King replied, "If not now, when?"

Sadly, this party won't learn from its vast mistake, but just keep whining and jawboning and throwing social sops.
