Mining

After discovering the metallic caves and ruins, rocket returned with the resource that he has found to the scientist and after much research. The scientist had found that the resource that rocket discovered was something they had named bone metal. It was a completely new resource and they were still studying to fully understand what it can be used for or used against. It seems to have some effects on magic, which would be something useful in a world where magic is a large part of it. Rocket was right that this metallic material could be used for gear and weapons. He hopes to salvage lots of it so he can use it for his next gear and weapon. A better gun would be very helpful for him considering the magical beasts that he has to deal with. Though for now he has to continue his expedition and collect more information for the scientist that he's working for after all he was hired as a mercenary to explore these ruins and relay this information to them. He can come back on his own time and collect as much bonemetal as he needs. That doesn't stop him, though from keeping the scraps that he has collected when he was on his last expedition. The scientist require more bone metal but they're looking for the engraved ones that tell ancient secrets. They also suspect that some of the engraved ones are enhanced in some way due to the engravings on them. Rocket was ears dropping on that information, which is why he kept the scraps that he had if that information is true he would like the engraved metal that he has. It would be very useful for his next weapon, he doesn't think the scientist would mind anyways he can just get them more when they send him off again.

This time around though they have sent him an expedition was a crew. They would like him to dig through these islands as they have discovered that there are ancient relics and treasures that that many historians would like to get their hands on for research purposes, and to put them in museums after studying them to record the history of their world. Rocket does not mind getting his hands dirty and while yes he is working for scientist and historians, he's not fully loyal to them and he will absolutely grab a few things here and there as long as he knows he can get away with it and that they're not of that importance to the scientist and historians.  While his actions may seem selfish and dishonest, he is getting paid to do a job for them and he's doing that job. Nothing says on his contract that he's not allowed to grab what he likes from his expeditions and it strictly says that he needs to bring back only things of importance or missing pieces of puzzles that they already have. So that's what he did. He dug through the earth and bonemeal finding ancient relics and artifacts many were simply old pots and clay sculptures. No use for him, maybe the historians would find more interest in these.

Treading through the dirt and stone, something shined through and caught his attention. It seemed to be part of an old weapon. Strong metallic material cut through the ground, reflecting harshly against the light. Rocket carefully pulled the ancient thing out from under the rumble with a quick tug, earth and stone trembling down to his feet after it was disturbed by him. He looked at the weapon and exampled it, he probably will keep it.
