- Would you like a glass of water, sir? // From: Stabs

- A shop opens somewhere in Corpclave that specializes in the renting out of
- butlers. These butlers could be human or robot, with very butler names such
- as Jeeves, Alfred, Butler, and ROBOBUTLER 20XX. With names like these, you
- can only expect the best!
- They come with a variety of cool butler features such as pouring you a cold
- glass of water after a long day of griefing, telling you that someone
- knocked on the door earlier but then they left without breaking in because
- your butler had the sense to be clutching a shotgun or a robot buzzsaw
- thing and yelling 'nobody is home', or finding you a very fancy hat in your
- pile of stolen goods that you forgot you owned because butlers are very
- clean and organized and they undoubtedly understand the value of a fancy
- hat.
- You would not be able to use a single payment to rent a butler, since they're
- not really indebted to you for life or anything and it defeats the purpose
- of the word 'rent'. They should cost like $10,000 a month or something,
- because they're butlers. Also if you murder them you should not be able to
- rent a butler for a while. The shop keeps track of their rented-out
- butlers, since robots with manners are hard to build and people with
- butler-like mannerisms are hard to come by, let alone train with a varying
- series of brutal electroshock methods.
- Anyway yeah. Their primary use, in a nutshell, would be sitting in your house
- and wasting your money, which are two things that a lot of people like
- doing. This is a fact. Other uses have been mentioned, like getting you
- water, picking things up around your house, and yelling at people knocking
- on your door, much like that guy does for 77Jack.
- Butlers own.
- > jacktracks So if I knocked on your door, your extremely
- Jan 21 2011 expensive toy butler would TELL me that you
- weren't home? I like the idea a lot, but maybe
- the butler should yell stuff that makes it seem
- like you ARE at home, so people who want to steal
- from you get all confused.
- > jacktracks also, they should be ridable
- Jan 21 2011
- > Stabs Oh yeah. Having the butler immediately inform
- Jan 21 2011 someone that you're not home seems bad. Perhaps
- they could say something like "Master, someone is
- at the door!" or "The resident of this home is
- occupied at the moment!", or some other
- indeterminate comment about your current
- location-y thing.

- > Malefactor So yessed, Anyway they should page you if someone
- Jan 21 2011 knocks on your door, Players should also have
- full acess to their inventories so they can carry
- your greifing shotguns and hats and they should
- clean you (unless you tell them not too) and also
- clean rooms owned by you.
- > Stabs I like that bit about them cleaning you.
