  8. SEO Website Checker is a Chrome browser extension that analyzes the SEO health of any webpage the user chooses to inspect. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

  11. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any of the following:

  14. Browsing history or URLs you visit

  16. Passwords or form inputs

  18. Device identifiers or IP addresses

  22. 3. Data the Extension Accesses Locally
  23. To perform SEO analysis, the extension reads the following data directly from the webpage you are currently viewing, entirely within your browser:

  25. None of this data ever leaves your device. It is read, analyzed, and displayed within the extension popup only. It is not sent to any server, database, or third party.

  27. 4. Optional API Keys (Semrush & Ahrefs)
  28. The extension offers optional integration with Semrush and Ahrefs APIs for real traffic and backlink data. If you choose to use this feature:

  30. You provide your own personal API key in the Settings tab
  31. Your API key is stored locally in Chrome's storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device only
  32. When you request traffic or backlink data, your API key is sent directly from your browser to the official Semrush or Ahrefs API endpoint — not through any intermediary server operated by us
  33. We never see, receive, store, or have access to your API key at any point
  34. This feature is entirely optional. The extension is fully functional without any API key

  38. 5. Local Storage
  39. The extension uses chrome.storage.local to save:

  41. Your Semrush and Ahrefs API keys (if provided)
  42. Your last SEO analysis report (for display purposes only)
  43. Your theme preference (light or dark mode)

  45. This data is stored only on your device and is never synced, uploaded, or accessible to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension from Chrome.

  48. When you use the Export PDF or Export JSON feature, the report is downloaded directly to your device using the Chrome downloads API. No data is uploaded to any server during this process. The exported file contains only the SEO analysis results of the page you analyzed.

  54. The extension does not include any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or telemetry tools. The only external network requests made are direct API calls to Semrush and Ahrefs — and only when you explicitly provide your own API key and request data from those services.

  57. This extension is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including minors.
